I was being serious. I would wear them to a nightclub in Scottsdale AZ, and nowhere else.

they look pretty disgusting but they may serve you well if you live in Scottsdale AZ.

Durability is a relative when you're carrying a handful of books and half a shwarma.

I think they look great. And you can walk around with that dirty look, but still actually be wearing something clean...
what's cleaner, tea or sweat? debatable...
looks cool though.

I recently picked up these Alden 901s off eBay for about $50
They've clearly been (not extremely skillfully) resoled in the past, and there are a few serious scuffs besides the general wear. The photos are a bit more flattering than reality. I'm thinking about trying Alden's restoration service ($135) on these. If anyone's had experience (that they haven't described here already) with Alden recrafting, I'd be glad to hear your thoughts.
they are nice but it doesn't make much financial sense to restore them through Alden. You would have spent $185-200 before even wearing them. You can get barely worn or new aldens for that much.
this guy took weeks to sell his:

mm it's not that I can't afford it, I just feel bad buying anything online for full retail/advertised price on unnecessary purchases like west African berry tablets...
His buyer history shows he has accepted a bunch of "best offers" - it doesn't show how much they were. Sounds like he is more likely to make you an offer on larger orders. ymmv
I tried them out yesterday. It was a little underwhelming overall, I plan to try some cantaloupe and honeydew tonight. I think the most awesomest experience was with limes (not lemons, which I also tried), and tabasco. Apple Cider Vinegar was kinda weird, Triple Stout beer wasnt as mind blowing as I had hoped....

I just bought ten of these myself. I think I'm going to try (from the advice) lemons, honeydew and a few others plus gooseberries and rhubarb. The way it seems to work its magic, I'm thinking those last two there are gonna be fucking delicious. If this works, I'm definitely gonna buy a good chunk of these and throw a party.
The New York Times article is like 5 months old. sufu mad late

For those of you who cant be bothered to read all of the above (I dont blaim you), to sum it up, its not a racist movement, but the white power idiots are the only ones the media ever talks to so people only ever here one side of the story.
sounds exactly like the swastika situation

is that how they make scat porn videos? using this stuff?
dunno but good idea.

After hitler used the swastika, the shit changed forever.
Using it for shock value is one thing, but only a moron would try to use it in a legit way now.
This is just not true. The original swastika (backwards or whatever) is very commonly used in asia to indicate buddhism or a buddhist temple, as on a street sign. You can't say that it means the same shit as in america.
"Nazi" in america became straight up synonym for evil just because people are too lazy to actually describe evil shit or to even know what evil is. Personally I think this happened so white ppl could try to say Nazism was waay worse than anything american whites did.

I'm fairly new to the "Shoes" business . So here's a newbie question: Would you guys advice me to go for black or brown boots for my first pair?
Again, i know this is a bit of an annoying question but i would love some feedback on this matter =)
its just personal preference.
look through this thread, see a boot that you like, google the name, if it is within your budget, get it, if it is too expensive, look for the next one...

One question. Can you get this shit in chinatown?

there are plenty of balmoral boots, makers often do them every few years due to their low demand. Grenson, CJ, Martegani, lobb, Paul Stuart. these days I see a lot of pomo margiela wannabes picking up on them too

The only Johnston and Murphy that are well made are the $350 models. The model names are something like Aldrich, Aldrich II, etc. And then, at that price, you might as well get Aldens.
Demonito, I know you spend a lot on other shoes and clothes, yet you seem to be trying to skimp on these dress shoes (did you mention it was for your own wedding? not sure). I can't think of a quality shoe where the retail is less than $300. If you are looking to save some money you can go to ebay and buy Allen Edmonds for under $200 at any time, for practically any model they make. If you are gonna skimp, you can get any number of crappy black dress shoes from Zappos, Sears, or the mall, like the ones you linked. They are not good by any means, but hell I have even bought emergency shoes from Sears for $70 when I went to a wedding and forgot to bring my dress shoes.
