  1. oh shit, that lineup is gangsta.

Is that the standard White's Vibram 700 sole? Any special options on your pair?

I like how whites does their integrated vibram much better than either their double leather, single leather, or the thought of single leather with an aftermarket topy. whites on one of their vibrams is the way to go, 700 or 430.

edit: oops I had no idea what a vibram 269 is. good to know

  2. What does everyone wear on rainy days? If it's really pouring, I wear my waterproof Matterhorns. Light to medium rain like today, it;s the RW 8146's.

piss pouring I always wear my pittards waterproof leather boots with goretex lining. completely impervious to rain, even submersion.

if its light rain I wear any shoe with rubber soles

  3. Oni is one of the worst casualties of the Levis lawsuit. They went from one of the freshest to one of the ugliest arcs of all. Those vegdye arcs seriously do look like RAWK INN RUHPUBLICKS COPT at BLOOMIES. I still like oni blues but I would seam rip at least half of each arc immediately

  4. Anyone have a good pic of one? Never seen them in person...

it's a very thin topy commando but stitched all the way through to the welt. this is AE but it looks similar to this. I like them - if you are sure you are getting a topy anyway, this is the way to go.

  5. I'm thinking of ordering a pair of Tricker`s Stows in black soon. I wear an 11e in Alden and 11 in RW 1914's. Would a size 11(Fitting 5) be about right for the Trickers? I'm concerned about the width more than the length of the shoe.

I would think 11 in Tricker's would be loose. They are designed to be worn with thick, and I mean thick, wool socks. The kind made by scottish grandmas from the billygoat out back. And not only that, they are UK sized, not US. If you are ordering from Pediwear, ask them directly.

  6. If you seriously have a problem with sweating feet, leather dress shoes/boots are probably not good for you. None that I have seen have any ventilation, they are sewn shut basically, as if they were leather gloves. You could possibly go for some sort of leather/cloth combo shoe but those are fairly rare.

  7. Anyone have any experience with Nick's Custom Boots brand? I went to the only local White's dealer near me and he carried only 2 brands, White's and Nick's. He said Nick's was founded by a long-time White's lastmaker and is located across the street from White's in Spokane. The quality and materials looked identical to White's, but they seem to be more hardcore, they don't carry any kind of casual or semi-dress equivalent. However, they are cheaper, $330 for a 10" canted-heel high arch vibram double sole calf leather ranger.
