I just saw a pair of the super-sized retail display redline 501s at a men's store in downtown Charleston, SC. I asked if they would let them go, but they were well aware of their value. They were flanked by two of the long cartoon cowboy cardboard displays.
I wish I had taken my camera.

Nice score...if it were a L, I'd be interested.
I might let this one go. I don't know if I'm in love with the fit on me.

Nice find. I picked up a pair of Alden oxfords at a local thrift for $6.
Man, do I love ebay...what's that?
Secretly Alden! $50 seemed like a pretty good price...

Someone in my LVC sale thread asked for BiG measurements...can anyone here explain what that means?
Thanks

I'd be happy to, but you need to 'splain "BiG style"
1915 measurements, BiG style please0 -
I've never owned their denim, but I'm a big fan of the label.

I'm planning for a cold wash at the 6 month mark.
@ShortyYour pair look fantastic!
Those creases and that shape almost look sculpted.
That's a solid look, do you think you will be tempted to soak/wash?

here are some updates on my ROYs...aside from the initial soak at the start of the year, these things haven't touched water. They're about ready to experience some hard wearing as I'm going to be helping my father on a construction project over the summer.
Here goes...

I'm willing to bet there was similar variety in quality with authentic vintage 501s as well. Maybe different in nature, but present nonetheless.
Funny, what season are yours? :-) You see, that is what I mean when we are having discussions about authenticity like recently: LVC makes (sometimes excellent) repro's, but they will never achieve true authenticity simply 'cause there's so many variables to be taken into account.0 -
