  1. someone get me a late pass...i can't believe i slept through the news...

this is gonna be great for toronto heads...

i'm glad there are more and more stores popping up in the city...i think it's great for toronto...it's even nicer when you have shops doing their own thing...enough of the boutiques selling hype brands...

i've been waiting for someone in the city to do something like this...it was only a matter of time till matt locked it up...

  2. over the rainbow is horrible...simply horrible...years and years ago they had a strong denim game, but they've never been a Toronto powerhouse in my opinion...

tnt blu has the denim game on lock in Toronto...plain and simple...it's gonna continue doing huge things...with SG running the show now, expect to see some surprizes in the coming seasons...

holts is really good...delphic is still one of the best...Otis has been hurting, but stocking Silas will most def silence the critics out there...

gdft hasn't been weak...the whole sneaker game has been hurting lately, outside of the occassional quick strike, most general releases haven't been strong...they're still the best bet when it comes to new grips...

nomad is killin' it...when the rest of fall rolls in, cats are gonna be sliding through this place on the regular...once the rest of Wings&Horns comes in, Spruce, Acroynm, Noah, etc...it's gonna be over...oh...and you heard it first here, expect a really pleasant surprize maybe as early as fall/winter...don't sleep the Nomad/GDFT fam will have Toronto on lock....

  3. i have 4 pair....2 pairs i got years ago...ethanol and vapour...no problems whatsoever...if you wash them constantly and wear them everyday, you'll see some major wear, but realistically, all denim will reflect heavy washes and everyday wear...wear then wash them in the "delicate" cycle, and you'll be straight...

on a side note, the kutans will break down crazy fast cause they're left hand...so keep that in mind...

  4. another vote for rogan...

corpus does have some pretty good denim...but not a fan of their overall design...

i recently purchased a pair of edun's for 50%...before my purchase, i wasn't too impressed by their denim...but if you're looking for something somewhat lightweight and reasonably priced, don't overlook the collection...

  5. supreme will always be supreme...after all the hate, they'll still be here...after all the weak brands fall off, they'll still be here...they're major now, like it or not...they no longer need the dope collabs...they ARE the dope collabs...companies like stussy lay the groundwork, but supreme gave the scene life...and it was real...straight NY...no big company backing, no major marketing ploys, and little or no advertising...they did what they did and they'lll continue to do what they do...like everything else that blows up and gets bastardized (example: skateboarding) by mainstream culture, once they hype blows over, true heads will still be loyal... like eveyone else has said in this thread...it's easy to hate on what they do...but the more you're hated on, the harder you come correct...

  6. vice will open again but be concentrating on marketing...really, it'll be an office space for them to put pen to paper...

they'll be doing a bit of retail, but mainly their own brand as well as occassional tees from the usual suspects...

  7. simply put, Nomad has the ability and potential to kill the competition...they are still very much in their infancy phase, so it'll take time for them to be major...but down the road, i think cats will most def appreciate what they're doing for the city...don't be fooled by the scarce product they currently shelf...the fam is connected and starting 2006, things are gonna be crazy...

as far as trini's comment and comparing them to how vice ended up, i can see the overall concern people have, but believe me, things are different this time around...the financial backing is far more concrete, and the experience will def help...vice was in my opinion a mid-range boutique...that is, a boutique setting selling low to mid end gear...and yes, part of the problem was that most customers weren't up on alot of the stuff being sold at the time (go get a late pass!!)...Nomad's goods are more mature as well as having a more "highend" feel, so the vision is different...they'll be fine...however, expect gdft to continue doing their thing but at the same time establishing the character that vice once had...

  8. for Triniboy...capsule has stocked at one point or another the following:

    bape/bapesta

    aNYthing

    surrender

    motive

    x-large

    supreme

    j-money

    ssur

    nike

    callous

    undefeated (tees)

    champion of none

a few others too....obviously, a number of these were sold on a reseller's tip...legit accounts they have committed to for the future i believe will be: j-money, motive, surrender, nike, x-large and aNYthing...

  9. i may be wrong, but i believe paul was negotiating a spot outside of yorkville...to my knowledge, it would be somewhere on bloor...being inside yorkville would be a horrible idea with Otis and TNT already holding down the area...

in the end, yes, i do think capsule is making too many moves too quickly...but markham gives them one and only one demographic, and if they have the money to move, all the more power to them...

i'll be interested to see how they do...paul is solid cat, but they do have some issues regarding the direction of the store...X-Large, Surrender and Motive are all solid lines, but i think they lack the instinct to compete with other stores in the downtown core...

  10. sr20det...i thought you lived in toronto, no?....

would have been nice to hit up union for that sale...i'm not hating on toronto, but it'd be nice to have access to that sorta action here....

  11. can't believe the hype surrounding these shoes...camping out??...c'mon....

for those that do take part in the unthinkable, don't sleep on the stussy blazers...these things are nuts in person....even the undftd joints are hot, though not really my steez...all in all, the fact that the "clerks pack" has gone by with little hype (compartively speaking that is), is ridiculous...ya'll need to get your heads checked...the union, undftd and stussy joints are simply THE MONEY...shout out to juppa and fam for putting out a solid product...and shout out to the gdft fam for sorting me out...
