  1. thanks corbin...but i want to avoid the shower wash if possible...i'm mostly concerned with inseam length at this point as i would like to shorten the denim by shrinking...

what about a cold wash and straight to the dryer?...will the dryer take any colour away?...i know that typically, it's the washing that removes the indigo dye, but not sure about the heat from a dryer?

    Thanks.

  2. recently picked up a new pair of raw unwashed denim...too many bad experiences washing then losing the colour.

is there any way to wash the denim so that they'll shrink in length, but at the same time keeping the colour (grayish blue tint)?

i'm thinking washing in a delicate cycle with cold water, or just soaking in cold water...then throwing them in the dryer for shrinking...will this maintain the original colour of the denim?

    thanks in advance

  3. TNT Blu WILL be carrying APC, just not at this point in time...really, as far the entire range of denim goes, there are plenty of respectable choices (as far as quality goes). In my opinion, APC does make a quality jean FOR THE PRICE...but there are other great denim lines available at TNT Blu...don't skip the sale...dig through their current collection...i think you'll come away quite pleased...

and since this thread began with discussing Ransom...respect and mad love to the GDFT/NOMAD/Ransom fam....we major...

  4. i think without a doubt, not only did Ian Brown and the Roses make a HUGE impact to music, but certainly with fashion also. Perhaps not John or Mani, but Reni (i don't think anyone in fashion, music etc caused an increase in Fisherman Hats being worn like Reni did) and Ian were certainly style icons during their peek. Their contribution to the fashion industry was perhaps not directly linked to "street fashion", but there were certain elements to their style that seem relevant today. The whole "baggy" trend though not invented by the two, were definetly front to the spotlight given their success.

in the end, Ian continues to stand out as a leader, not follower of fashion, and any individual that can continually do so as he does, in my opinion deserves his/her just due...

    just my thoughts...

  5. can anyone recommend a straightforward, simple, mainstream club in New York City?

    something on a HipHop/R&B vibe?

nothing too underground or trendy...just something simple and easy to get into....

    thanks in advance...

  6. i believe for this season, sizes 30 and 32 will have a 30 inseam....34s and 36s will have a 32 inseam...

next season they'll be changing things up....34s and 36s will have 34 inseams...

  7. Quote: doom does not work for matt. he just wanted to tell the peeps in toronto about a new store, that's all. he deserves the respect. he has always been the first to get the hottest gear. who was the first guy to have rogans? who was the first to get stone island? how about j lindberg? and belstaff? the list goes on........

agreed...don't forget matt and lena's first store...stocking duffer and all that before heads were ready...and to be fair, Steve G. was the man to put that fam on to Rogan...gotta give credit where credit's due....

  8. to answer some of the questions in this thread:

GDFT should be opening Monday at the very latest...Expect the new spot to look quite different from the previous one...downstairs will be strictly footwear and GDFT branded apparel....upstairs will stock the usual suspects, Knowledge, Stussy, Bittersweet, Answer, etc, etc....

Nomad price points in my opinion are reasonable...especially when it comes to the Wings&Horns/Spruce gear, you'd be hard pressed to find these lines cheaper anywhere else...Supreme pricepoints will be reasonable, considering the fact that Richard Kidd currently is the only other establishment in Canada carrying...the clothes will be exactly what you'd expect...the bags might be a bit pricey, but hey, it's Supreme, what are you gonna do....?...

expect Supreme to flow through next week...

and yes, i suppose due to the amount of lurkers on this site, Supreme will most likely cause a stir in the city and we'll probably see the stuff fly off the shelves....

  9. dezone...give Nomad a call...the Supreme goods are not a big secret...they'll let you know the drop date and even fill you in on the product they have coming in...

it'll be interesting to see Toronto's response to Supreme at Nomad...i don't think it'll fly off the shelves like some would anticipate...i think as a whole, Supreme has died down a bit...i personally feel like Nomad carries superior apparel anyways, though I'll be copping the occasional cap and bag....

lets face it...in terms of cut and sew quality, Supreme is not ANY better than Wings&Horns/Spruce, Sandinista, Corpus, etc...i feel like Supreme's tees have fallen off as of late, and the price points will be on par with the rest of the store...so i really believe that we're all gonna see what REALLY moves product...quality or hype...stay tuned...

  10. check your attitude at the door minya...

for the rest of you, yes, Nomad will be stocking Supreme...and we're not just talking tees...from this point on, Nomad will have access to their entire collection each season...

look for bigger things from the GDFT camp also...new store will provide a solid bridge between what GDFT was carrying in apparel and what Nomad is aiming to be...cats looking for midrange gear will be pleasantly surprized with the 2nd floor....

look for more surprizes as the year goes on...but if the Nomad/GDFT fam hasn't blown you away just yet, be prepared for 2006...things are gonna get crazy....

  11. actually, the purpose behind opening Klaxon Howl isn't to cater to the "fashion" crowd at all...the purpose of opening the store is far more simple...get your facts straight before you criticize cats trying to get over...

"i also can't believe you're using the term 'hater seriously"....i call 'em like i see 'em homie...

  12. the term "collectors" does not merely reference those that as you put it 'care about it's historical significance'...but also include a broad range of reasons why various people show interest and collect...

"specialty boutiques are no good if there's nothing worth buying"...this my friend is a matter of opinion...your particular interests may in no way align with one other's...what you consider "worth buying", someone else may consider a waste of time...and vice versa...

don't hate on Uncle Otis, they've been in the city since day one...they've paid their dues and aside from a few wrong turns here and there, have always been on point...if you've spent any significant time in toronto and can't show love to Uncle Otis, than you're a hater through and through...if you haven't been around, than you're excused...but really, should get a late pass...

  13. are you questioning the knowledge of employees at nomad?...i'd hate to be the one to shed light, but compared to zeb and jesar, everyone else NEEDS to get a latepass...there are just a handful of cats in the city that have been down since day one...as far as being in the know, these two cats are right in the mix....

  14. don't be surprized if capsule moves away from the sneaker market...if it wasn't really working in markham, there's very little chance of survival in yorkville, espec when you're gonna see TNT Blu opened up heavily by matt in the coming seasons...i think you're gonna see capsule push clothing...look for more surrender, x-large, etc....plus perhaps a little something special ....

look for capsule to be setting up shop just a stone's throw from otis....

and can goodfoot co-exist with capsule?...with all due respect to capsule, they've got nothing on GDFT....

  15. i'd hate to say it, but nomad wasn't created to be accessible for everyone...i know that sounds harsh, but in realtiy, it's not the GAP...

anyhow, in my opinion, you're going to see a greater divide between Nomad and GDFT as far as merchandise goes...generally speaking with no intent to hate, i believe Nomad will be for the grownups and GDFT will be more for the kids...
