  1. Caban will most def be carrying Spruce come 2006, maybe even fall 2005...they will not be carrying Wings&Horns, but expect their range in the Spruce line to be very extensive...(looks like Caban is pushing to be the flagship)...anyhow, i can see why Caban wants Spruce...it fits their image 100%, simple wearable clothing at a moderate to high price...and as far as Spruce's outlook goes, why not make a buck or two?...Wings&Horns will continue to be the "exclusive" line so that they're able to maintain some cred...overall, not too fond of Caban stocking one of my favorite lines, but if a Canadian company can get over, so be it, all the more power to them...

  2. in some ways, they are a bit dressier than united arrows...but overall, the clothing is still very casual...they do nice pants and shirts...they also do tees, but the tees are very trendy and over the top in my opinion...they did stock wings&horns, so that sorta gives you an idea of their price points...

style wise, Spoona is correct, it's a cross between beams & united arrows, stylish but very wearable....

    pricewise?...fairly high....

  3. i think what people tend to forget is that Nigo is a young cat...he has yet to define himself as an individual...he's not old enough to have been part of any defining era, except for the present, and in Japan, the present is a mishmash of popular culture drawing influences from hiphip, indie, etc, etc...cats forget that this kid has changed his image over the years from an indie kid to a hip hop head...over the past few years, you can see that his direction has moved from a japanese fashion house to becoming "THE" japanese corporation...age has alot to do with it...again, he has yet to define who he really is...compare his image to Hiroshi's (his mentor) and see how over the top Nigo has gone...his own self image/branding has led way to what you currently see in his recent lines...in his early interviews, he stressed the importance of making his clothing exclusive...making it hard to fine...being part of a secret club...that was where his head was at...now, he's rocking gold chains and looking to take over the game...i have alot of respect for BAPE, he's managed to do really big things...let's face it...homeboy is paid...and in the end, given his age, his surroundings, etc, i'm not at all surprized with the direction BAPE has taken...respect where respect is due...that being said, the only items that continue to move ME are the Gore-tex jackets...still need one!!

  4. ^^ correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe j-money is already available in toronto...and most cats in the city NEED to know that currently, TNT blu (hazelton lanes branch) has the men's denim game on lock...

not trying to hate, cause i'm happy anytime someone comes to the city and mixes it up, but as far as j-money and denim goes, there are other places that deserve their just due...

all the best to vacant and lileo...the project will def balance the scales a bit...

  5. i agree with most of the above...however, i think the most important thing is to stick with it...set out a vision from the jump...know what you want to do...not just a couple of runs down the line, but your overall vision...after that, stick to it...stand by it...you'll see highs and lows, but if you maintain consistency, and keep pushing, your product has a chance of seeing daylight...

  6. respect to jamie, but i find the line very hit and miss....the "mo'problems" joint was nice....but i found that tee to be very similar to brknhome's "love is pain..." design...overall, not bad...but not great...in the end, you need something to fuel the hype train no?...

  7. Spruce/Wings&Horns don't have a website...but their stuff is very straight foward...nothing over the top...they concentrate on quality and cutting...to my knowledge, all the stores listed above carry their goods as well as Ships in Japan, Richard Kidd in Vancouver and Nomad and Uncle Otis in Toronto (Uncle Otis only carries Spruce)...

on a side note, to all the toronto cats, if you haven't copped the BDU pants made by Wings&Horns at Nomad yet, DO SO...the joints are ill....

  8. if this is in fact true...i'm almost happy to see it happen...sooo sick of all the hype surrounding nike SB...

i love nike...but it just seems as though the SB line gets way too much love and exposure...they make decent shoes to skate in, but that's about it...

opening up to pacsun will prove once and for all that nike is in it for the money kids...

  9. the zoom air sole in sbs are good...but as a whole, the sb line can't touch more than half the shoes available on the market right now in terms of comfort...i love nike, but as far as comfort goes, i'd rather have a pair of new balances or plain old clark wallabees...

oh, and the team edition sbs are wack...straight up and down...

  10. congrats IJF regarding the collab with Vacant...never been a huge fan of what Vacant does, but i'd be lying if i said i wasn't the least bit intrigued by this project....in the end, whatever it is that's done to improve availability of product and choice in toronto, i'm all for it...good luck during the coming weeks!!

  11. frogeyes and sr20det are both on point !!...and keerst speaks the truth...

there's gotta be at least one thread a week where people complain about the service they're getting at these stores...and each time i say the same bloody thing...GET OVER IT!!...if you don't like the service, don't shop there...if you still want the goods, you kids have been so spoiled with the internet that finding an online resource that'll sort you out takes no time at all...do some legwork dammit!!

i'm soooo sick of all the whining and complaining...these companies and stores have the right to sell to whomever they choose...look, it's not like shopping at the gap...the gap is out to get paid, straight up...they don't care who the customer is...most of these establishments you all are getting heated over can smell a fraud before their doors are pushed open...

if you decide to spend your hard earned dollars there, go in, pick up what you want, take it to the counter, drop your cash, and break...stop spending your time and energy getting heated over the service...life is too short...spend your time worrying about the people and things around you that are TRULY important....
