  1. The WW2 models have the same out seam but different stitch length and threads. But one is single stitch and one is chain. I love that the right back pocket is offset, that both left and right are right back pockets and the left folded butt seam.
  2. FW non-wash jacket here with T-back. soaked for 1 hour at 40-50 degrees C. Then dried on balcony hanging. washed on gentle cycle no spin at 30C and hang dried. then washed one more time at 30 and hang dried. Most shrinkage is out I think as it measures same or close to what retailers post for the washed version. Horizontal seams pucker very nicely but not the vertical ones. Does that mean there is more shrinkage to be expected still? Or will the other seams just pucker more with wear?
  3. The back pockets are the best part of the 37s I think. I think they are all uneven on purpose. More so than any of the other models.
  4. Good to know thanks! In that case I’ll save myself the dirty bathtub.
  5. to get shrinkage out of raw FW WWII fabric without a dryer. warm tub soak followed by 30 degree machine wash? will that suffice? what the consensus?
  6. Trophy jeans that is?

    Belts

They say it’s an ‘industrial’ iron buckle cut from a plate and pressed. I guess that explains the price.

    Belts

Does anyone have experience with belts from Trophy Clothing? 30,000 yen feels a little on the high side but I do like the buckle a lot.
  9. Wow. Amazing that you took them that far! mare you gonna get them fixed or is that it for this pair?
  10. Or the sewing thread shrinks. One of those. But the denim shrinking causing that i highly doubt.
  11. I bet even Hand stitched will work. As you said. The tension of the thread is key. I highly doubt the shrinkage of the denim makes much difference. % wise that’s nothing at the hem. Thread is under tension when being sewn and tries to relax later, maybe? I don’t know for sure.
  12. A litte messy can be desirable. Some even like when the selvedge is folded into the stitch by accident. It’ll give you more character when it ropes. Main things are ⅓ inch width and union special 4320G or something like that.
  13. If you got them hemmed by TCB you’ll be fine. I’ve found that if they keep the 8mm width and use a union special 4300G or whatever it’s called it’ll rope anyhow. Had my FW pair hemmed 3 months in and still roped like crazy. It does depend on the machine a lot. Different union specials of the same model return different results. Must have to do with the angle of the needle. They are not all the same. anyways, yours will be fine. get the hem wet a few times. Maybe before wearing them and it’ll slowly start roping. i like roping on the hem as well. lord please help all the other people see the beauty
  14. Had three denim items from real McCoy’s now and was disappointed with each of them. 1. impossible to fade. By they time they lose indigo noticeably they are falling apart. 2. Lot004 and black type 3 jacket advertised as raw but were actually sanforized. That really pissed me off. 3. no puckering on my two pairs of jeans and denim jacket. Kinda important to me. That’s why I bought ‘raw’ price isn’t bad here in Japan. they are one of the few brands that make a few items in bigger sizes all other Japanese brands stop at US Large (labeled XXL here in Japan) as much as I hate them for their jeans I still like their Tees and flannels. Their sweaters looks nice too
  15. What’s it say on the tab? Can’t read it with this resolution. also, no patch on that jacket or does it have a down patch?
  16. Wow that’s amazing. It probably has selvedge around the cuffs too.
  17. Interesting. I’d assume anything in the stores now would be recently produced stuff and should be 2nd generation. Maybe the new s506xx coming this fall won’t be much shorter than the 507xx. I kinda liked the very short warehouse s2000xx I tried on.
  18. I recently tried on a warehouse ww2 type 1 jacket and it was noticeably shorter than their Type 2 jackets. Is FW s506xx also shorter than 507xx? From measurements I see online, speedway for example, it actually looks longer than 507xx.
  19. That looks like some pretty good leg twist on the left.
  20. I’m looking for a basic Buffalo plaid flannel in red/black or yellow/black. Does anyone know Japan made ones that come in big sizes? FW 17.5 is too small but FW jackets in 48 fit IH XXXL is too small SDA too small UES size 5 are too small. thanks!

    Warehouse

Their type 3 jacket is made using the same fabric as lot 004. It says unsanforized but I’ve worn mine for a full year and washed it 8-9 times. Very little shrinkage if any. Slow fader for sure. See pic. Crotch blow out just started getting dangerous around 365 days. Maybe that was fit related though. But with that tight of a fit I would’ve expected more fading. Anyhow. Nice looking jacket. Just my experience with the fabric.

    Warehouse

Real McCoy makes them. Their size 44 is like a FW 48. But I don’t like how they fit and their denim isn’t great either. Holes develop before it fades. Also seems sanforized.
  23. Thanks. SC black denim looks nice. I’ll look out for that.
  24. FW made a black type 2. Haven’t seen a black type 1 from them, but if they had it it’s almost certainly unavailable now. I’ll check TCB. Thanks
