something new! but as far as can be seen in this photo, 132. I'm hoping to get these into production later in the Spring- more then

I’m quietly (loudly I guess since I’m writing this post) hoping for a 132 with a higher rise, like the 125(?)

@Duke Mantee That’s good info, thanks. So, when people market leather as “horse butt”, is that generally from the rump (incl. shell), or from the actual butt (which I guess would be part of the front, assuming horses are described in similar terms to other stock)?

I don't know if this helps, but here's a photo of two of my horsebutt leathers I'm messing around with. The black one is sold as having shell in it (but the shells are too small to extract or whatever you'd say), but the brown one is thinner and as far as I can tell there's no shell inside, but it's pretty clearly from the same area.

I measured a size 7 on the brannock and wear size 7 in sneakers and boots minus Wesco which is a size 6.  Would I need size 7 in Attractions engineer boots?

I guess it depends on which Wesco last/boots and stuff, but 7 sounds reasonable. Possibly a 6.5.

Loving my jeans, but does anyone have a tip or a "hack" for keeping this lil guy from popping out? Most of the time it's not an issue, but every so often it pops off when I unbutton it. Would hate to plop it in a toilet.

I had issues with one button on my jacket, but I closed it with some pliers and put a small bend in it. Also I have the pin in the other way to your picture.

thanks for this! The cuffs on Tender shirts are a bit unusual- normally you have a seam allowance (maybe 1/4" or so) on the end of the sleeve, where the cuff fabric is sewn on to the end of the sleeve. With my cuffs, the sleeve itself goes all the way down to the bottom edge of the cuff, and the cuff itself just sits on the outside of the sleeve end. I saw this on a railway uniform jacket and really liked it just as a construction detail, but it has the added effect of setting the cuff and sleeve fabrics in tension with each other over shrinkage: generally fabrics shrink more in the warp than the weft (eg you normally get more shrinkage in the leg length of unsanforized jeans than you do in the waist), and here the cuffs are cut sideways. This means that the sleeve panel shrinkage pulls there cuff fabric up, and the cuff fabric pulls the sleeve fabric in. That's what's causing the vertical fade lines (where the sleeve is pulled in by the cuff and causes ridges underneath the cuff), and the horizontal creases (where the sleeve is pulling the cuff fabric up, making it concertina).

TLDR very glad you're enjoying your shirt :-)

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation! Is the weft/warp shrinkage also the reason the collars tend to wrinkle in a fun way?

  6. Just recieved a pair of Attractions Lot 444. Same sizing as my Wesco Mister Lou (7.5E for the Wesco, 7.5 for the 444s). They fit well, a pain to put on but that'll be better. I'd argue the sizing is a bit smaller than the Mr Lous, which makes some sense since the Attractions seemingly use a pretty accurate cm sizing scale.

I keep quoting this guy … but Jamie at East West Apparel  is the most helpful guy never mind the fact he actually gives you detailed comparisons on his website for a good range of brands

    Attractions Biltbuck Lot 707

I've been looking at a pair of Attractions from them also, but they're unfamiliar with Wesco sizing and it's what I'm most comfortable with, so I have mostly the same question as @mlwdp

nice! dont see these ones as often. these are still mahogany bodies and neck?

Yeah, it’s a standard 13 LP except for the top. Mahogany body and neck (And from what I can see it’s a one piece body), rosewood fingerboard (with light flaming at spots) and that really sweet koa top. It was my 30 year old gift to myself in 2013.

  9. I got my two bench shirt a couple of days ago, and here are some words about them in my sort of shitty english.

When I first tried them on, I didn't really like the fit but I figured I got them for a steal so I might as well keep them for a bit. It made me feel like I was wearing 90s X-Files Skinner's shirt. I've been wearing the cross weave one while working for home for a couple of days, and just by doing that it's relaxed quite a bit and it no longer feels bulky.

The cotton(linen indigo fabric is really cool, but I'm gonna wait until it's a bit warmer outside before I put some wear on it. Looking at the fabric and on @rodeo bill's worn floor shirt makes me very excited.

^ Thanks for the heads up

I’d spent a while going back and forth on the velvet jackets but decided they were a little too rich for me; really excited to be able to give one a go!

Happy to help. They've been having sales randomly over the last year, but it almost seems as if I'm the one person buying from them.

  11. The Danish store Maritime Antiques & (which is where I got my anniversary type 900, and my baste pocket shirt) is having a pretty decent sale on Tender items. I'm waiting on two versions of the bench pocket shirt (denim and the stripey one with two different indigo fabrics).

    The liner is removeable?

I'm no expert, but I assume the liner is removable cause there's a photo of it without the jacket, the earlier versions has a removable liner and also the store site says it's removable.
