okay well then jsut use code 6203.43.1190 and say they're snowboard pants.. which they (p24a-ds) frankly could be great for. this is UPS? perhaps tell them what i said ^ that they are 6203.43.1190 snowboarding pants. i haven't encountered that service fee, but frankly even after the $90 fee if they do change the duty rate you're still saving money.

yes i was. the ups rep i spoke with was lax but i had been through the process two times prior and sounded like i spoke the language. had the new HTC ready for him, and said that as the importer (upon whom the responsibility rests to ensure import info is accurate) the preassigned HTC wasn't specific enough, and that my p24a-ds were exactly what 6203.43.11 dictates - water resistant trousers. US import went from 27% to 7.1%, saved me $200.

have both, wear both often. same pattern, different material. DS is 4-way stretch, S is zero stretch. both have their different purposes, and they "wear" differently. honestly these two pants could be the only pants i wear for the rest of time. cant praise enough. to more clearly answer your question, yes the stotz are quite stiff and sturdy compared to the silky stretch of the ds. though i definietly wouldn't change sizes if that's where you were going.
