  1. they're definitely shorter but much more accesible. I actually use the coinpocket for coins in the TCB 60's avoiding that annoying wallet-full-of-euro-coins bulkiness, but don't do it on any of my other pairs because the pocket placement is so high and the pocket itself so deep that I find it rather cumbersome.

I've been looking around the FC1800-2 and pending a further security double check on thigh measurements I think I'll get those. looks like I can easily manage a 34 waist, the denim weight is 13oz so perfect for an all year round pair for me, the hem width is 21 cm so I'll be able to rock them proper with my Tricker's and Sander's boots, brogues, loafers and monks. all shoes that have been neglected from my rotation because of too wide pants in the last couple years. the fabric itself looks exactly what I like, with the plus of trying out an obscure limited number model. oh yes!

guys keep those 66 jeans coming! love the discussion so far!

  2. now, Bielby, that you got so many 66 repros flying around, would you be so kind (or someone else) to post a picture of the coinpocket (from the inside maybe)?

as these should be square and I havn't seen something like that yet...

    here you go Nemo!

square-ish coinpocket as seen on TCB my 60's

the coinpocket sits lower on the 60's. a much more convenient placement for easy access to your Zippo, drugs, coins, Viagra pills or whatever you want keep in the coinpocket!

  3. man you're the undisputed king of the 66 type thread, period!

you've got a pile of well fitting jeans, those denime's and the warehouse are all great fits on you. now you only need another lifetime to see the full potential of your denim wardrobe!

and yes I can already sense from your fit that those warehouse 1100 would be a perfect Hitler pant on me. In the meanwhile the FC1800/2 posted by Ed have whetted my denim appetite. wonder if the fabric is the same as seen here on NDNL blog:

now that's the kind of royal, pale blue that makes me excited! wonder if that's a very special edition with the levis arcs instead of the FC standard arcs.

on a side note, I'm not a a sneakerhead myself, but those adidas look mighty close to the ones I've used to play handball years ago. are they handball shoes? i dearly loved mine.

  4. ^ quality!

the fact that you mention Resolute having a too large waist for the thighs makes me think that these would be a top fit on me, as I have a too large waist for my thighs too!

in fact I am 36 waist on most japanese jeans but the rest of my body would fit much better on a 34. too bad that the Resolute denim leaves me cold.

what about Warehouse 1100? I'd prebook WH photos for saturday if I am allowed!

  5. to start with the denim is quite boring, very soft touch, flat and dark (has a grey-ish hue). I wouldn't expect more seen the cost of it though. the very same fit ( only with a shorter, belly forgiving rise) paired with the TCB 50's fabric will easily make for my all time favourite pair of jeans. I still think that life is too short to spend time fading lesser denim but will do it for the good fit!

  6. noooice stuff BF and Bielby!

i remember earlier fit pics of the Porky's on which they seemed to me like a much more flattering fit on your body, i thought they were possibly your best fitting pair, but from these new photos for my eye Resolute are the winners so far, with SDA close second. strange that from the measurements I've seen the thigh on the 34 was only 12inches while from your pic fits it seems that the thigh it's roomy.

those porky's still tempt me, part for the good price and part for the sheer pleasure of owning a pair of "porky's"! great name!

Bielby would you let us know which are your favourites and why? fit-wise/craftmanship-wise/denim-wise? thks beforehand

bob dong 47 model. funny to realize that possibly the better fitting pair of jeans I own are a 35 eur pair made in China, which I bought admittedly only for the name of it ahah! neglected them to favour all my better denim pairs but I think I should hem them now and start to give them some wear.

  8. these are sooo good! I remember ohhing at these pics already in the SC thread. would you care to share a fit pic as well? I had the very same pocket bag issue on my TCB's, though no holes yet, the fabric just started to fray a little.

  9. oh yes! let me think, for instance it's useful if I get back all my weight? that's totally possible, I've done it back and forth a number of times.

funny thing is that it's barely noticeable, seen the loose fit nature of the cut. I just tie in my belt a hole tighter, and voilà!

  10. that SDA denim looks so damn nice. must try SDA sooner or later. I'm still a newbie somewhat (I tend to wear one pair at the time with little to no rotation) but between all the Osaka 5 possibly SDA is the brand that attracts me the most. I was worried by the 4 botton rise but it looks like the rise is medium rather than low. Jeez Mr Bielby you have some 66 collection going. fair play to you and your wallet!

do you have warehouse 660 or warehouse 1100?

  11. I'm at the opposite side of things.. when I received my pair I was 93 kilos, now I am 86, I am floating on these jeans but it won't stop me ahah! at the moment I can take off the jeans without unbuttoning...

  12. great fit Bobbo, as said on IG the fabric starts to drape nicely. all good!

love the beer talk guys. I enjoy an artisanal beer every once in a while, although I still am a big fan of good ole cheap beers as well. when it's summer and it's hot and I am thirsty I want to drink an ice cold beer that tastes of beer, rather than orange zest, chocolate or vanilla! I'd describe myself as a cheap beer connoisseur ahah!

  13. Hey Volvo, always a pleasure to see your posts. I keep meaning to ask how easy about your TCB60s have been to fade? I have a feeling that you commented that they are pretty stubborn. Reason I ask is that I have entered the DWC with my Norman Porter NP02, but I'm toying with the idea of changing my entry. I've been wearing Norman Porters since November, and I love them, but if I'm going to be rotating, I feel like I should rotate with something different.

cheers buddy. the last fading pics in my post above were taken at about 13/14 months..so I'd say that TCB 60's are quite easy to fade. It took three months to see some whiskering and contrast and I remember I started to really love the fading at the seventh month mark. First 6 months were slow-ish, but from 7th month onwards it's been a glorious crescendo rossiniano ahah!
