Yeah - I used to buy the 501 STF from Fred Meyer way back in the day. They always shrank to unwearable, but I think it's mostly because I didn't know what I was doing.
LVC jeans mostly aren't available in Canada, so I ordered from Unionmade. We get the pre-washed distressed stuff and a lot of t-shirts and sweatshirts.
I'm kind of looking forward to having a pair of redline selvedge in the quiver, since I mostly wear PBJ and now the ONI Aizumis I'm killing this winter.

I just impulse bought a pair of 1966 LVC 501s - thought that I should have a final bit of Cone denim in the collection. At almost $450 Canadian after exchange and shipping, did I make a huge mistake?

Lazy people don't deserve good jeans.
Honestly, though, just buy the 900s. They'll fit you fine and they fade really fast into something you'll be happy with.
People worry too much about fit.

I've been wearing my Aizumis non-stop for a couple of weeks. Biking, walking, living the hardcore active life of a 45-year old Canadian.
No fades to speak of. Nothing.
It's actually kind of annoying.

Nice.
For some reason it motivated me to put on my old Oysterdate 6694.

I love my 009j. That bracelet really elevates it - nicely done.

A thought that occurred to me while I was browsing the Self Edge section today...
What would you think it a brand not only supplied shots of their jeans new, but also with some wear on them? Sure, it's going to be difficult with a new denim, but otherwise, wouldn't it be of interest? I guess you could always do a Google and figure it out.
The spark was seeing a few new PBJs, the new SE/PBJ rinse formula and also wondering what my ONI Aizumis are going to look like, should I maintain a weight low enough to wear them for the winter.

That spider shirt needed to come with a trigger warning!

Can anyone comment on how a Flat Head button up, size large, compares to an Iron Heart button up, size large? The SE measurements look like I could do it, but I feel like FH is cut small.

I finally fit into my Aizumis, just in time for summer.
Yay to losing weight, boo to being a fat bastard to begin with.
Low rise is fine, but like anything else, if you don't feel comfortable wearing it, then don't. Otherwise you look like a trend following idiot.

Nice strap choice. I have the manual wind Khaki and find the OEM strap horrible. Might be time to dig out Scott's (that's his name, right?) contact info...

Heck yes you should. Rock it with attitude and don't be afraid to throw some cut eye every now and again.

Why do we need a rep button anyway. If you want to give someone a thumbs up, get @ them and write YASSSSS or put a sweet emoji in or something.
It will make the user feel even better, because it required more effort.
YASSSSSSSSSSSSS.

I've got a pair of the black/indigo Onis on their way from BiG and a pair of Warehouse 900s on ice. It won't be exact science, but I'm going to do a test over the spring/summer. I reckon I'll wash the Warehouse every two weeks and not wash the Onis at all and see what happens.

Broke my Oni duck today and ordered a pair from BiG. Fingers crossed they fit.

@keybladehero - no, I don't keep my phone in my front pocket. I did used to keep my work passcard in there, though, which probably explains it.
And I don't wear my jeans overly tight (though they sometimes get that way depending on how my diet is). I do reckon it's body type.

I'm reading this as 'buy two new pairs and do a side by side comparison in the name of science.'
Stephen Hawking Memorial jeans experiment? Anyone want to contribute?

Interesting - I always thought my crotch blowouts were due to being a fat bastard.

At my advanced age I've learned to care about two things: leg length and hem width. Everything else is totally variable. Jeans too tight? Lose weight. Jeans too loose, tighten your belt. Thighs too tight? See how they stretch out after a few weeks wear (not a few hours) and either sell them or lay off the squats. Rise too low? Lose weight...
It goes on and on.
In terms of Warehouse 900s, it relates like this: I'm a big guy. If I went by measurements alone I never would have bought these jeans. But, as long as I stay under a certain weight, they're amazing. I go above that weight? They're too tight, the rise is too low and the thighs feel like they're bursting.
They're worth the work.
