  1. Just received a pair of LVC 501 1955.

I believe they are in Raw Washed Denim - as opposed to Rigid - although the label says 501 Jeans Rigid.

    They feel soft.

Does anyone know if these will shrink further? If so, by apx. how much.

    They are 34/32.
  2. I'd be Straight fot or XX03, don't wear slim fit jeans.

My only concern is the weight of the 001's: 18.5 ounces? Not sure if I'd want to go quite as heavy.

Are there any fade pictures on this thread of the shirts and jackets?

  3. Dude,

Generally if there is a restock it is quiet and happens before a new model comes out (For example, the Kinda Special had a ~20-30 pair restock a few weeks after release), but never have I seen him go back and make the exact same jean again.

From my understanding, he sets his shop up for a particular project and that's that - once he moves onto the next project that article of clothing will never be made again.

Maybe he'll feel nostalgic and use those rivets again one day, but I'm pretty sure it'd be on a different pair of pants.

Not a bad way to work if you ask me - makes each piece an artifact.

I think the RS04 got a second edition, or was it the Special Fits? But, yes generally once they're gone, they're gone.

I'd like to see limited edition reissue of the BigBro shirt.

  4. The good people of Mr. Porter came to me a while back and asked if I had any thoughts on the best way to take care of one’s jeans. And as it turns out, I have indeed done some thinking the subject over the years. So we spent some time together coming up with a simple and authoritative video guide that lays out exactly how to ensure your denim always looks its best.

In the early days of ACL (way back in 2008) I wrote a little something to clarify my thoughts on how to best go about washing your jeans. Lately it seems to me that a lot of people have really gone crazy trying to over complicate the process of taking care of your denim. I’ve never been a believer in washing my clothes in the ocean, or doing my laundry in my freezer. I’d rather just find a simple way to make my jeans look nice, smell good and age as perfectly as possible without taking up too much time or energy. Because anyone who likes denim can tell you that there’s something really amazing about taking a pair of raw denim, having it mold to your body and creating something which is completely one of a kind. That’s what makes denim maintenance so impactful. Though it’s not so important you need to rolling around the surf in your special new 14oz White Oaks.

A Continuous Lean serves as a discovery agent for those with an appreciation of quality, style and provenance. Founded in 2007, ACL is the product of Michael Williams, a native son of Cleveland, Ohio. Currently, Michael lives in New York City and works on the factory floor at Paul + Williams.

  5. Damn, given the title of the thread it could have been something REALLY interesting here rather than a denim brand started by someone in the fashion business.

Founded in 2009 by John Park, the London based ready to wear label takes inspiration in its name from Charles Darwin’s book ‘Origin of Species by way of Natural Selection’.

Originally starting as a denim brand, and using only Japanese selvedge, Natural Selection married modern silhouettes and finishing techniques to authenticity and high-fidelity construction. Ready-to-wear was introduced for AW14.

Fusing clean lines, relaxed tailoring and quality fabrications to realise considered and coherent collections, Natural Selection’s expertise in denim compliments the brand’s smart/casual juxtaposition, where understated design is paramount. In keeping with the continual evolution of the label all branding has been stripped back to allow for an uncompromising product always with the modern, quality-conscious man in mind.

3sixteen Shadow Selvedge Type III Jackets & Indigo Yarn Dyed T-Shirts

We've got two new 3sixteen releases, both of which have been high on many people's wishlists for quite some time.

First up is a modified Type III jacket made of 3sixteen's famed Shadow Selvedge denim.  This jacket is made of a selvedge Japanese denim, custom designed and woven for 3sixteen, and cut and sewn in the USA.  They've lengthened the body a bit and added hand pockets to the front of the jacket.

Next up we have indigo yarn-dyed pocket t-shirts.  These have a deep indigo shade to them and will fade and lighten with regular wear and washings. The t-shirts come in a pack of two and have no branding on the outside of the tee.

Along with these new items we've received a full restock of all 3sixteen and 3sixteen+ jeans including the 30BSP, 32BSP, all women's jeans, and all Shadow Selvedge denim jeans.

What is the fabric like on the Indigo Dyed T-Shirts? Is it stretchy or taught?
