  1. this may have already been discussed but LVC have a new limited edition jean coming out for SS17. it will be based on a 1976 or 78 model and will be called the Mirrored Jean due to it's unique details, and it will be left hand twill. sorry my details are a little vague but I am sure someone more knowledgeable than me can fill in all the pieces as I'd be interested to have what I've heard confirmed in more detail.

  2. I agree 385 is a lot. i guess it is a lot of work.

But it is a lot of coin. Need to think carefully about this one.

I purchased all of Roy's previous shirts apart from the short sleeve; that includes the 1st shirt, the Portland Shirt and the previous Big Bro. They were all a fair price for a hand made shirt. Some here are missing the point though, exchange rates have a big impact on the cost of things, not just Roy's new shirt, everything now priced in $. This new Big Bro shirt worked out £100 more than the previous Big Bro (£340 vs. £240) - as great as this shirt would be at that price it didn't make sense.

  3. cool_hand,

I was hoping for a bit lower price too, especially since Roy's jeans are a relative bargain.  But then my wife (bless her) says, "Don't you know that shirts are much harder to make than pants?"  I didn't know this, but she's no doubt right.

Yes I believe shirts are more work.

The price is not really that different to the previous denim shirt ($395) but since Brexit the exchange rate is just making it harder and harder to import from the US or anywhere else for that matter.

  4. $385! + shipping. wasn't expecting it to be priced quite as high. as much as I love Roy going to have to pass - exchange rate means this one would work out almost £340 with the shipping, that's just to stratospheric for me right now. shame as it looks v. nice.

  5. mine fit tight around the forearms and in the shoulders (I wear a size 4). don't get me wrong, their type 2's are nice looking jackets but they could use a slight modification in fit. Because of how boxy the jacket is in the shoulders I don't wear it much, but I love the look. the upside to their type 2 is they're cut a little longer than standard type 2's so sit below the belt.

thanks for feedback. size 4 is the size I would probably order based on measurements. I have fairly thick forearms - some shirts I can't wear because they fit to tight around the forearms, so will bear this in mind.

  6. Yes I have RS05 - but I no longer have the RS04 so not possible to do a side by side comparison. Would say the RS05 are an improved fit a little more generous fitting, better fit in the rise and the leg opening is wider, very straight looking leg. Not worn them enough to really comment on how the denim fades etc. it's not as hairy as the Cone denim used on the RS04.

These are the infamous "buttongate" jeans. If you can find a pair grab them.

  7. Is there anywhere in Japan that have Overworks (XXX Vintage) jeans for Sale outside of the Edwin Store? They are sold out of my size and I would like to proxy a pair from there as its about half the price of buying them here.

  9. But Roy is also going to make more money himself which is well deserved and awesome for him. In addition, it allows him to control his batch size, experiment more, and continue to make next-level garments for the world. All in all, I see it as a plus, even though I'd love to stroll down to SE and try his stuff on...

I'm a huge fan of Roy but the problem now as TTC points out with import duties and shipping added to the price it takes these jeans to over £300/£310 for a UK based customer wheras previously they worked out around £220 via SelfEdge even though the retail price was $50 more. For sure if you're based in the US it's a win win, but for us in the UK it now makes the price prohibitive.

  10. I think that's correct, I believe they're the same Kaihara fabric.

it appears that there are several versions of the Type III jacket in Rigid. LVC's website has little detailed info, but it appears the older version is in the Kajhara denim and the newer version is in Cone denim.

Can anyone comment on how different they are?
