I really lust over momotaro just can't find the cut that works for me.
Noticed you like the sda 107 cut too. The sda 107 and 103 are my favourite cuts in slim and straight jeans. The momo 705 cut is my favourite in between (as a slim/straight).
But it's tighter in the crotch area than sda jeans. Tried it already?

Hey,
the 24oz denim from PBJ is quite stubborn. And it seems the hardware was not really modified to account for the sturdiness difference.
The belt button popped out after a few month. I fixed it with another nail. Then it broke again. So I bought a "regular" button. It last one day.
At that moment I thought "screw this". So I did.
Using my wife's jewelry equipment:
- bought some screws and bolts.
- made a hole in the button. That was the longest part as I had no real piercing tool.
- polished the button, screw and bolt to get the proper length and make the surface smoother.
- added some denim to cover the bolt and quickly sew it..
This should finally last!
Cheers.
PS: Be careful if you plan to size down on these.

Hardware related question.
I've got a pair of PBJ 24 z. It seems the hardware is the same as for regular 14 oz jeans. And it looks a bit weak for that denim thickness. The belt button has popped out. I've tried to replace it with a regular button found at a store nearby. It did not last a full day.
So I was wondering if there was a (online) store anyone could advise for stronger hardware.

CSM is Clark Street Mercantile in the Mile End. They carry brands like Engineered Garments, RW, PF Flyer and used to have stuff from Rogue Territory.
Now they seem to focus on local labels such as Bon Vivant or closer labels from NYC.
T&T is such a p*** to go to. It's mostly a showroom as they make more than 90% of their business online.

Type: 710-BH
Worn for: 3+ years, probably 13-14 months of actual wear
Washes: 6-7, screwed up a bit at beginning with 1 soak + 1 wash and dryer which made unwanted creases leading to another wash. This may explain the rather slow fading (compared to what I can read on other models).
These are my most resilient jeans. No repairs to perform so far!
It may be a mix of the 'loose' cut, the several initial washes that may have got rid of most starch, better construction for BiG?
Whatever it is, they're rock solid.
Cheers!

Worn for: Almost 4 years, probably 16-17 months of effective wear
Washes: 8-9, first one around 5 months
Really like how the black threads appear more and more at friction points. Had to make several repairs in the crotch after hiking though.
They're now good to go for the next six months hopefully.

Hey,
received a couple garments from UES. Two new flannels among them to survive the winter.
I really like the colors of the heavy one. It will pair nicely with the Samurai 710 BH or usual indigo denim.
And the fit of the extra heavy one is better for western silhouette guys like me. It's a bit longer (2-3cm) than the heavy ones.
Black, heavy (14.5oz).
Extra Heavy (15.5oz).
Cheers!

Just got a few repairs back from the clobber.
I met Suitbydayrawdenimbynight a couple months ago and he told me about this local Montreal clobber: http://www.carinthia.ca/Brought them a pair of 877 for resole and Service boots for a toe reinforcement (triumph toe tap).
I'm very satisfied with the result. The owner was really happy to see someone bring some Vibergs at his shop.
So if you live in Montreal and want to resole your Red Wings, you know where to go!
Ready for another winter!

congrats vgadjo! on the wedding, and those sdas (the 103)! looking superb, have u lost weight? those sdas look loose, or are they a different pair from the one all those years ago?
Hey, thanks! They're the same jeans. It may be the way I sit. I haven't lost or gained weight.
But I've had people mistaking them for 101.

A great sunny day in Montreal!

Made with love by my wife. Yes, she makes jewels.

jesus, do you drag your feet a lot? Ive never seen that much wear in such short time/ Its generally advisable to avoid wearing through the sole and wearing into the midsole. It wont mean imminent death for your boots but it'll just be a more costly repair further down the line. I cant say if thats normal wear or not, but my gut tells me its premature. I dont know if the sole is just a bad sole or not but it shouldnt be that worn after so few days.
Hehe, no. But I walk fast. This may lead to pushing more on the toes area.
This wear pattern can be found on all my shoes (see below). In the RW case, it's no big deal as the whole sole would be replaced. In this case, it may be a mix of poor quality sole and my wear habits. As far as it's not too much of a problem and can be repaired, it will be ok I guess.
I saw some reinforcement can be added too. Not sure that's possible on any type of sole though.

Hi dear shoes experts!
The following situation made me wonder if I had to worry about a pair of Vibergs and their soles (their soul still being quite new).
It's a pair of Service boots with some "Itshide" commando soles. After only 15-20 days of wear, the front is already as "worn" as it can be on another of my pairs of RW after 6 months.
I found a post on Style Forum about a similar issue and the sole chipping. So the question is, should I worry it starts wearing out the leather part of the sole? Or is it ok and considered normal wear or at least not something to be concerned about?

Showing more contrast after last wash. I had to perform a knee repair as the threads on the selvedge side broke.
