  1. The reason, I think, that you get the coin pocket lightning bolt on 60s models only is because the coin pocket denim is aligned in the same direction as the fabric of the jeans (peek inside your coin pocket and you'll see the weft diagonal lines going from top left to bottom right, same as your jeans). This must have an tension effect on the fabric once it shrinks with washing. On XX models, the weft diagonal is in the opposite direction to that of the main jeans fabric. The coolest detail of 60s jeans in my opinion.

You guys are making me dig deep in some records.. You're right, we did another run of them just for Self Edge, 53 shirts made with whatever fabric they had left in the spring of 2013.  You may have bought yours in 2013, if you did get it in 2014 it means it was one of the last ones we had left.

I basically robo-copped it within minutes of the shirt going online because I'd missed out on the original run... So, 2013 it was. Cheers for making that happen.

Just went back to see when it was actually released.. it was SIX years ago, not 8.  They never remade the shirt, it was one run made in 2011 in the spring, then in the fall they did it in a long sleeve version.

Didn't you manage to get a small run of the short sleeves made at a later date? I bought mine from you in 2014 (I think) when a new batch was released on the webstore. It's easily my favourite shirt: perfect cut in a beautiful fabric that's just made for warmer climates.

  4. I took a look at the Take5 Hong Kong Instagram and in their post featuring that style of 421, it's called an overseas edition:

Nice purchase by the way. I like that cut and the denim. Perhaps we'll see more Pherrow's being worn outside of east Asia with these toned down details.

  5. I think I read your question as '''where'' are the jeans from rather than ''when''! Maybe Pherrows are responding to demand from international retailers for a more toned down back pocket button?

  6. Incredible shop in Wan Chai (Star Street area, near the Monocle shop) sells Resolute and Barns tees. Their branch in Jordan, just up from Kowloon Park, has a RMC shop within a shop though the range is limited.

Goldyard in Central, just off Hollywood Road, sells Full Count and TCB along with other nice JP ''dry goods''. The surrounding area is really nice.

Then in Tsim Sha Tsui you've got Take 5 and the sister shop Benny's Store, which sells Orgueil, Trophy, Viberg, among others.

Happy to supply other recommendations for food and drink, sightseeing, hiking, beaches, etc. You don't want to come all this way only to shop.

Simon, the 1101 you bought the same as your 1001?

No, I bought the 1101 in size 30 and the 1001 are a 31. But that's partly because I've lost weight since I bought the 1001. If I were to do it again, I'd also take the 1001 in a 30. I don't own the new 1001XX models btw.

  8. Flat Head shirts are designed to have a bit of a drop-shoulder as well. Iron Heart shirts are designed for the seam to sit right on the top of the shoulder. I certainly don't have wide shoulders, but I've always found FH shirts to fit great in that regard. The challenge, especially with the westerns, is to deal with the taper to the waist. IH shirts feel like they're cut to fit a bit of belly and that's no good for me!

@Sugar MountainSimon, you bought the 1001 or 1101? I assume is 1001xx? I wearing WH 1001 in 31, wondering 31 in 1001xx will fit the same?

Alvin, I own the 1001 and the 1101. Just check Warehouse's post-wash measurements: if you like the fit of your 1001, see which tag size is closest in the 1001XX.

  10. Ed, when you order from the WH webstore, you submit a form with the items you want and your location. Then they email you to confirm details with a quotation. You reply and they send you a PayPal invoice. It moves quickly.
