  1. Oh god don't even remind me of that winning percentage, it's worried me since before he was hired. It definitely leads to some doubts about him as a coach but I feel pretty good about the entire staff in Washington right now. The coaching staff has a clear idea of what they want to do and they finally began executing it fairly well this year on both sides of the ball. The front office has totally turned around the personnel side of things too. Out of the 50+ players cut over the past three years only Carlos Rogers and Laron Landry are starting on another team (they might actually be the only players on a roster period) so I do feel confident they can surround RG3 with talent. Dan Snyder has retreated into the shadows and that makes me happier than anything.

Alright, sorry dudes, all done. Back to denim.

  2. So I take it you're a Redskins fan? Where do you stand on Shanahan not taking RGIII out when he was clearly, to anyone with working eyeballs, limping like his leg was going to fall off?

I think it's insane. He risks the future of his franchise to win one game, even though he likely couldn't play next week if they won anyway. I hope, for the sake of good football, that he fully recovers by week one of next year.

Yeah, just like you said, the risk Shanahan took pretty much had no upside. What bothers me more than anything is that if you are going to keep RG3 in, just keep running the ball. Morris should have finished that game with well above 25+ carries, the fact that he only had 18 is ridiculous. Yes, Seattle's defense tightened up after the first quarter, they were one starting O-linemen down with Lichtensteiger out, and with RG3 hurt the read-option wasn't going to be as effective to get Morris yards but still, everything considered, you've gotta keep getting Morris the ball. Over the past three years I have been willing to give the entire organization the benefit of the doubt, be it with larger scale personnel decisions or more specific in-game decisions, they lost me on Sunday though. Fingers crossed for a quick recovery. Thread officially derailed.

  3. Cell photo dump...

Last Sunday was one of the biggest days for me in recent years as fan of pro football, things didn't turn out as I had hoped though. There were many more empty bottles on the coffee table by game's end.

Doing some shopping, about as close as I'll be to Asia any time soon.

And made a trip to the beach early in the morning with my girlfriend and dog.

I've lived relatively close to the ocean for the majority of my life and have never once spotted a shell of this kind is such perfect condition. Totally complete all the way around.

It looks like my jeans will be in need of a similar repair as the kind Simon did pretty soon, I'm probably coming up on another wash in the next week or so as well.

  4. Man the food in this thread is out of control!

    4 months, 4 washes.

Belt loop is starting to get pretty roughed up because of my key hook, can't quite see all the stitching coming apart here though.

And from a trip to re-up on pet food... this is some bad/hilarious packaging design, especially when it's lined up next to the others.

  5. Man these are great, I couldn't be happier with the fit on these now. They were a bit too full after the first wash/stretch and I still preferred the fit of my 1001xx. Now after more washes, the denim settling, and some extra beer weight they couldn't be more perfect.

Awesome pictures the last couple pages.

  6. Heavily washed 1001xx, about 14 months old at this point but actual wear time is far less.

This happened last December. I was out running errands and happened to drive past the skatepark on my way to the grocery store. It was unusually warm and I had my board in the car so I figured I'd roll around for a little bit. I was upset at first, but no big deal really. After this I pretty much wore them without hesitation to do whatever, leading to the frequent washes. Been meaning to patch it up a fabric sample from Ooe.

The yellow chainstitch is what made me go with yellow stitching throughout on my Ooe contest pair, love the way it looks.

The lighting on the full size and fit pics was a little wonky, I'll snap some more later on down the road.

  7. Headed down the beach yesterday, I needed to get out. I've been so exhausted with a new job that nearly every weekend lately I just lounge around, cook a little food and watch some football. There's a few beaches around, where I went yesterday is the furthest south - during the summer the parking is free, it's a few miles away from touristy areas, etc...

People always swim, and people always climb on the rocks.

There was some wood washed up, I assume from Hurricane Sandy a few weeks ago.

Sunlight washed the colors out, but you can see the texture on the thighs.

The beach is on the grounds of a Confederate fort, lots to see around there. I'll be sure to take pictures of the rest of the area next time.

  8. Great stuff Aho. Always cool to have a look around a town I've never visited. My dad used to talk about this one steakhouse he would always go to while on business trips in Chicago, I guess great beef becomes standard the closer you get to the middle of the country.

  9. Not the indigo necessarily, the color stayed consistent I suppose but the jeans looked pretty lifeless and flat, more so than after the machine wash a week before. Still good evo going and stuff like the creases in the lap are coming back strong now. I'm fortunate that I can wear them to work every day (albeit just to sit in a chair) and I likely won't abandon the frequent washes but a machine wash and soak/hand wash within a week was certainly too much. Think bad grandpa fades, not good grandpa fades.

Sorry about the lack of pictures, I'll get some up here by week's end. Slugabed, that last post was great.

  10. So a couple of weeks ago my jeans were at 2 machine washes and one soak... and then a week later a certain pet of mine couldn't control themselves while no one was home so that led to a hand wash with some detergent in the uh, affected, area.

I was happy after the second machine wash, no so much after the necessary hand wash that followed. Kind of took some life out of the pair, just gotta keep wearing them though. And I'll never leave them on the floor again.
