  1. What's going on with your 60's Hendsch? I've had mine since around July, washing very frequently (they rarely get past 7 actual days of wear before washing, usually 4-5) and they're doing alright.

  2. Ahh that's a bummer, it is a great jacket.

I'm happy to finally own something by PBJ.  I've been fascinated with them for a long time even though their general aesthetic wasn't really in my wheelhouse. Years ago I used to act like an old man that had figured out exactly what I wanted to wear forever and wouldn't veer too far off the path even if something different interested me, fortunately things have changed.

  3. Just got the Glen Check Type 2 jacket in the mail. Not sure what got into me as it's not something I would usually be interested in, but in this case I really liked the fabric and then when I saw the measurements (and price) it was a no brainer. There are no words for the satisfaction I feel when I put on a shirt/jacket and the sleeves are actually long enough for my mutant arms.

  4. Everyone starts with an unopened beer - you can open it when the race starts though you don't have to start drinking it right away, but the beer does have to be finished before you cross the finish line and you can only drink while your kart is stopped. The best strategy is to just chug the ever loving shit out of that thing when the green drops.  Get a case of beer (or more), 3 friends, and you'll be passed out in no time.

    And great update!

  5. I've always wanted to wash the hell out of some PBJ XX-003.

I personally have always been a frequent washer though. The first pair that I dropped some decent coin on (WH 1001 15th) are almost too washed out. It bummed me out for a while but now I just have them on the full blown "Dad jean" path and I dig it.

  6. haha, awesome mario cart race!  I took that game very seriously on the Nintendo 64

Absolutely. And then a little later in life we made a drinking game out of it (where it was definitely still taken too seriously   )

    Sugar Cane Oki

    Ooe 9101 contest jeans

    TCB 60's

Sold off any and all excess before my daughter was born in 2013. Lost a handful but they hadn't been worn and I don't really miss 'em. Then I got too fat and just wore STF for a while cause babies aren't cheap but I'm back in the game now.. All in on the 60's right now, the Okis will get rotated back in soon and I have my eye on something new.

My brain won't let me accumulate a stock pile of jeans, I seem to purge my personal belongings (not just jeans) every few years. That doesn't mean I'm not jealous looking at some of the collections here though! Great stuff everybody.

  8. Thanks, any idea what soak/wash temperature should be used to get to the measurements on the site if one picks the raw garment?

It took at least 2 trips through the wash (on "warm") and a tumble dry on low heat to get all the shrink out of my raw 60s. They've been washed twice since and may have shrunk more but but by a negligible amount, after two they were good to go.

  9. Anyone with the 66 (non-XX) jeans want to share pics/opinions? I'm hooked on the 66 cut and want to try something with a stronger taper than my TCBs. Don't want to spend a ton of money but I'm feeling impulsive, any help is appreciated.

  10. Recently picked up some 60's and I'm very happy two weeks later. Had some major concerns about a couple measurements (thought I might be strictly cold soaking these) but everything has worked out great. I finally felt comfortable washing (again) to get all the shrinkage out and now the fit is just what I wanted throughout the legs and the waist stretched nicely. Still adjusted to the rise but not a deal breaker.

I'm impressed that you powered through this heatwave with that shirt mlwdp! I'm in VA and while the 60's are great for warmer weather I definitely caved to mother nature this week.

  11. Fury from CA is great. I don't get out much anymore but I caught that big tour with Terror/Power Trip/Harms Way last week and Fury stole the show for me. Angel Du$t played next and they were great, those 2 sets made me feel like I was 10 years younger.

  12. Yup. Raw size 34.  Here are measurements (BiG) after one lukewarm soak and one cold wash.

    Waist: 33.5

    Front Rise: 10

    Thigh: 12.5

    Hem: 8.75

    Inseam: 36

By far the lowest front rise I own but so far so good.  Inseam on these is great as I'm 6'5".  Higher rises usually help offset lower inseams for me but this pair seems like it will work out nicely, just the other way around.

I love the lighter hue and weight of this denim.  This picture shows neither of those things as it was taken while drying, it's just a little bit of overexposed hairyness for everybody (my apologies to those that prefer a landing strip or other more manicured shapes, I didn't have the time.)

Absolutely love the patch design. My goal when I get older is to be a cat lady.

  13. I've put a few 501 STF through the ringer. Good fades for sure but then after the color lightens enough they look forever dingy (we serve BBQ, lots of fire/charcoal/smoke/soot)

  14. TCB 60's arrived yesterday which is insanely fast, couldn't believe it.  I was worried about the waist instantly but I think it will work, I just won't be throwing these into the machine any time soon. Did a cold soak last night and I'm currently giving just the legs a hot soak to get the inseam right.

Love the jeans. I put them on this morning and couldn't take them off, ending up going to work in them which I never do. I run a restaurant and even if I spend a whole day in the office/running errands rather than in the kitchen I still end up coming home with some shit on my pants somehow. So yeah - no selvedge at work. Except for today. I was extra careful, it was worth it.

  15. 60's are in the mail. They will be my first 60's cut as I don't really care for 60's details but I figure I should stay open minded, and these are my first pair from TCB so I'm excited to check out the brand.

It's been 4 years since I bought a new pair of jeans so I'm really stoked. I'm also going through the painful routine of pointlessly and relentlessly refreshing a UPS tracking page for the first time in a while though.

  16. Hey. This past week has been my first time reading the board in a while, it's been good to catch up. Contest jeans probably fit better now than they did way back when, they're getting plenty of wear at the moment.

This little one keeps me plenty busy.  Went to the beach last night to run around and check out the little crabs that come out,

Hope everyone is doing well. The new Ooe contests is looking great, looking forward to that (hope the bump doesn't confuse anyone!)

  17. Thanks! I would say 2 years of wear over a 6 year span, but that's a guess. They have been washed a ton, thrown in the drier too. And they're definitely stubborn. I watched them closely the first couple years and nothing happened, then I just lost track of time and here we are. Plenty more to go.
