  1. OK... so we have the models, sizes and inseam requirements for all 26. Well done everyone... you gotta love it when a plan comes together 😉 The choice breakdown sees the 411S '42-inspired model as the most popular, followed by the 5150 '50-s Eddie Van Halen model though it must be said there's good coverage across the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s... it's shaping up to be a contest spanning many denim genres... Please also have a final check of the final list below... DM me any issues please I'll email the spreadsheet to Simone tomorrow... then we can sit back and look forward to the kick-off 😀
  2. I've lost focus - it had been most of 6 months on the FW '37 - and am now wearing whatever, whenever I feel like it
  3. OK folks... a follow up as we have a ‘deadline’ to finalise choices by 14th September. Thanks to everyone who has provided details already For action please (all contestants) Can @beautiful_FrEaK @MJF9 @fabes @81611 @srudy @bartlebyyphonics @theguywhoknewthatguy @volvo240thebest @dudewuttheheck @CSL finalise their details please (the yellow bits on the attached spreadsheet). Please DM me as stuff gets lost in the thread. Any missing requirements will be defaulted to 28 waist, with 28 cm inside leg 😉 Can those who have already provided their requirements (status of green) check the table is correct for them. Belt and braces brought safety to John Wayne and so we’ll use them here. If it’s correct, just rep the post please. Any errors, DM me and @beautiful_FrEaK please If anyone has any issues, please let me know. Thanks all... nearly there
  4. Denime '37 / Freewheelers '37 / Rototo / Big Yank Anatomica / Bronson / @Duke Mantee / Russell Moccasin
  5. @tooth cool, developing very nicely... I'd be interested in seeing how your SC-43s have evolved... I have a hardly worn pair... really love the SC-43 denim, nice and dark indigo with that rough texture
  6. @bartlebyyphonics loving the width and hem of your TCBs and the park-ette life @tooth nice SCs... which '46 are they? SDC? I'm possibly vacuous tonight
  7. Sorry @aho... I checked with Simone and unfortunately he can't do a 39... I hope you can make another size work mate
  8. The advice from Simone just now is if you want a size w34 then buy a w36 tho that's based on washing them before wearing... we all know jeans stretch though and shrink again in the wash so the size taken depends on how you want to wear them... @beautiful_FrEaK has been wearing said denim and posted measurements so could chime in with specific experience again here to help...
  9. Update Good news... Simone confirmed that Collect have shipped both rolls. The target plan remains for Simone to have the jeans to us before Christmas for the competition to start. Note though that’s a target as Simone’s doing this single-handed so we’ll need to be understanding. Anyhow, this plan beats my expectations for sure given we only very recently started talking about this so solid progress has been made. Simone has started on the belt loops already! Request please by the deadline of 14th September Can all contestants finalise the following by DMing it to both @beautiful_FrEaK and me please? Model Waist size Confirm if they want hemming done by Simone If yes, please state your desired inside leg. Simone will add 8.3cm to your desired leg length to allow for shrinkage. Any issues with the date, please let me know. 15. haha that could be a matter for @Maynard Friedman in his esteemed capacity to address 😉
  16. We're all good with the size of the judge panel and good to have you on it OO... having such a number of judges voting independently should end up in a balanced and fair result when all added up... well that's the intent I took it that your message that you'd quite enjoy judging was a yes... the only thing I never provided (yet) was that golden buzzer... but look you can have a virtual one !! And yeah for sure you can judge it from the final shots alone... that's what all judges can base their final decisions on, irrespective of how much thread action they've seen (which may be lots or may be little)... Finishing in around June 2026 is some time off, but we have a plan... what could possibly go wrong??!! 😉
  17. With a combined experience of nearly 5,000 years denim-wearing and denim-scrutinising experience (give or take a few years 😜), I’m very happy to introduce the contest judges… @Maynard Friedman @Bobbo @chicote @CSL @Double 0 Soul @Dr_Heech @Duke Mantee @Flash @oomslokop Simone @smoothsailor I hear you - it's the mother of all judging panels!! Thank you judges for signing up to play a part in the competition. I think we can safely say the winners will deserve it 😀 … to anyone inadvertently missed from the list - mia culpa, our apologies - we’re getting older, busier and more forgetful… please continue to join in along the journey... So… how will it work? Here's the outline... Each judge will pick their 1st, 2nd and 3rd places Each place will be worth points. Points make prizes. 1st place = 4 points 2nd place = 2 points 3rd place = 1 point There will be no sharing, no conferring between judges. They will make their own choice, without influence. Maynard will be the lead judge. He’ll consolidate all individual judge’s scores and total them up to give a grand total… and the winners! NB - we need to work through what we'll do if there is a tie for places (we have a little time to decide that 😉) Maynard will announce the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places Game on!!
  18. Simone is getting his own buttons made in Japan, so yes it's WMJ = Word of Mouth Jeans No pics to share just yet... something to look forward to in due course
  19. They're buttons mate 😉... I pinged Simone to see if we can get more deets, maybe a picture to bring 'em to life too
  20. We're gathering momentum nicely here... and something more to whet the appetite... An update from Simone on the 1942 model ... choices choices choices... I would like to do the 42 this way: 411S/611 Fit No buckle back Crotch rivet Standard yoke Denim pocket bags (Ooe amoskeag fabric) no rivets on coin pocket WMJ Buttons No tacks on back pocket Inspired by pair #24 in the Levis book. I'll post another exciting update soon
  21. @beautiful_FrEaK Congratulations to you and the bF family! Exciting times ahead. PS My top tips: ear plugs and the spare room...
