Hey guys. I just hope there are still stocks left of the denim swatches posted, they tend to get sold out relatively fast as they only produce 500-1000m. Just finding out stock levels at the moment.

Just a another idea. Have been talking to a cool sufu guy that has a leather press and the possibility of getting a hair on hide patch made, will have to test it out and see how it goes though. Most hair on hide logos are fairly simple to get a good clean brand. Did a quick PS mock up, it does look rather shit, but you can imagine something along these lines would look really cool in real life.

Also have some random gold/black pocket tabs from ages ago.

Yeah, not to tromp on anyone's excitement, it seems like we're getting ahead of ourselves. Do we have a solid list of people in the contest yet, or even if we're gonna be 15 or 30?

Unless Ande can't get enough denim, I think we'll be doing 30. The list is at 28 right now, so only 2 more people need to commit, and theres more than 2 people waiting on details.

Even after we hit 30 though, I'll maintain a list of interested people just in case someone in the 30 doesn't come through with payment or whatever.

Also, the wabash fabric is dope!

Meh, I'm not really interested in having something like this just for the sake of having it. I'm aware that I'm the one that originally brought up the idea, but just because other contests have something like this, doesn't mean we have to. It seems a bit try-hard

If Ande wants to include something, cool. If a contestant is crafty and has something to offer, super cool. But I have NO interest in anything outside of that.

and on a different, totally newbie sounding note, anyone have experience with KMW rockers and AW sizing? I can still fit into my size 29 rockers (but would probably go with a 30 if I were to buy again), and was thinking of some 32 rakers, but Ande's measurements suggest I may need even a 33. 4 sizes up:confused::confused:

trust Ande's sizing. I'm a 36 (35 if I size down a bit) in Ande's but a 34 in pretty much any other brand. Vanity sizing has fucked our perceptions what our waist really is.

Just find whatever pair of jeans fits you best and flat measure the waistband. If it measures out as 15", that would be a 30" waist. It's really a fool proof method.

It looks like it's going to be very hard for everyone to agree, but it also seems most everyone likes all the denim, just has a slight preference one way or the other. So no matter what gets chosen, I don't think any of us are going to be super bummed.

I sent PM's to 15 more people last night, hoping to fill out the full 30. I understand that a lot of you may be waiting to hear the final details, but I just want to get as many confirmed as possible. Hopefully by the start of next week we'll have the final list of 30 nailed down

Definitely dig the back. I was curious to see the more rounded Lee shape on the pockets, but this is a nice compromise.

It's between denim #2 and #3 for me. I'll have to ponder it a bit. Do any of them really stand out as something special to you Ande?

Super-super-stoked on the Leepro idea. I think that's pretty brilliant, and a perfect example of why a lot of us wanted Ande to handle the details instead of design by committee.

I'm not crazy about the idea of unsanforized denim. Ande's cuts are all on-point as they are, and I don't feel like playing the shrinking/stretching guessing game that the Roy contest is going through.

I think lined back pockets are sexy, but I'm not hardcore about it.

Pleaseeee run with the Leepro idea, Ande!

I completely agree. I have full faith in Ande to put together something phenomenal. That being said, I will throw my thoughts in to the ring:

1: Denim - anything interesting, not black

2: Patch - stamped leather

3: Selvage fly - sounds good, but not picky

4: Selvage belt loops - love the rope lined, leather seems overkill

5: Pocket lining - lined back pockets would be amazing

6: Hem's - rope

7: Back pocket stitching - dark indigo

8: Back pockets - hidden rivets

I'm also working on a patch design. Hopefully I'll get it up tonight. I'll update the list soon and start contacting people to nail down the list of 30.

We are past 30 now, but a lot of those people have conditions based on price, details.

I think we'll just keep letting that list grow, and wait until we hear more from Ande before trying to nail down the list of 30.

I just heard from Ande. He said that he had a lot of options for denim, and that he will post some different swatches on the thread soon.

It seems he's pretty open to hearing our suggestions, so if anyone has any specific ideas, feel free to throw them out. He also said he was open to a contestant designed patch. So if anyone wants to give that shot, go ahead. If we have multiple designs, we can all vote. Could someone post the measurements of the current patches? I would do it, but my Ande's are getting repaired at the moment.

We are trying to get 30 interested people, so that we could expand the contest. There is no need to PM me or email Ande to state your interest. I've been constantly checking the thread and updating a list of interested people, and will continue doing so.

So from now on, if you are interested in joining the contest, please say so in the new contest thread. You can PM me if you want, but it's not necessary. There is no money involved, no deposit system, no nothing. Once we reach 30 interested people, I'll contact everyone.

Any ideas on some cool goodies for contestants? With the Roy contest, some peeps contributed stuff (belts, bandanas) to the others in the contest. I'm trying to think of what I could offer, but my skills are most limited to art and coding.

Oh ylia bummer about the tear. As a larger dude I don't have the opportunity to wear slimmer fits. Although I have a pair of tellasons that I sized down one (John Graham Mellors), that fit really slim. I make sure that I don't wear them whilst doing dynamic movements. I can wear my aw miners to do muay Thai if necessary. Big fan of the straight fits.

I did something similar last week, though not as bas as that. Ripped my 14.5oz slackers along a whisker when I tried to jump up in the air for a photo in the snow. Hopefully Self Edge will finish repairs sometime next week.

I also ripped my grifters playing in the snow. Apparently I need to grow up and quit playing in the snow.

Hi guys. If they were to be made with all the selvage details, there would have to either 15 or 30 pairs for the competition. Poly and Robotbox are going to compile the names etc. So I guess the way forward is names, denim, design, dough, make, send, wear and win.
