sorry, but in this case we have to put your name off the list.we want the jeans to be spread all around the world.
only kidding.bad joke,i know.
I meant when I traveled to Germany.

SLAB, those look slim to me. I must spend too much time on the LVC thread. Excellent fit.

I couldn't sleep last night and I am on the list. Now, that's sad.
I am looking forward to walking down a street somewhere and seeing someone else in these jeans. I know it is going to happen.

^perfect fit. wow.

Whoa. Cool. Chainstitch?
Yep, chainstitch. They have a tailor on site who I was told can even do leather alterations. He wasn't there when I visited, though.

I don't have a double needle machine. This is all single needle lockstitch on a singer 15-91. A lot of folding and ironing of flat felled seams.
My mother has a Singer 15-91, She said I was going to have to wait until she died to get it. I have to content myself with a Singer 328k in the meantime. Still a nice machine.

Dude, that is why I even went on this adventure. I hate that I need to continually be tucking the sides of my shirts into my pants. I made this baby plenty long.
Yeah, I'm thinking of adding some fabric to the tails of my KTH polka dot shirt so it doesn't pull out all the time.

^ Wow, and it is even long enough to tuck in!

keep in mind the price of everything will only go up over time. and i think with the situation of japan/US's exchange rate kiya has been pretty fair with prices.
Japan is in deflation which means that prices are falling. That might not be the case with jeans of course.

Got to admit the buckle wasn't a very smart choice though. I'm liking the looks of it but its a real pain to buckle and unbuckle because the leather is just so thick
I find my horseshoe shaped buckle hard to buckle and unbuckle too, whereas the rectangular one is super easy, even with the quercus leather.

okay, maybe not the correct thread but any of you who own or handled Roy's; since he's using Cone denim as well , with which Levis denim does Roy corresponds the most? the type 47, 55?
Definitely closer to the 47 fabric than the 55, but heavier in weight. It has some of the graininess of the 47 fabric.

Some serious cuffing needed here...

Love that denim
.
Those are hilarious.
What does the "S" mean in the "501SXX"?

INteresting. I thought I was told the new ones were Rayon, but that explains the difference. Will ask why when I get a chance.
Now that I think back, I shouldn't have been so definitive about the tags. We spent a good bit of time looking at a Type I jacket (Made in USA) and he did tell me the tag was nylon and not rayon. But he looked at it carefully to make sure which might imply that some of the jeans are using rayon tags now. I would be very interested to hear what your sources say.

Robert the historian at the Meatpacking District Levi's store told me that the current LVC jeans use nylon for the red tag whereas the vintage ones used rayon. This could explain the difference in wear. I wonder what Levi's Japan used on their LVC repros.

Here are three belts from Terry Dear. All use the twelve month oak bark tanned leather.

The Levi's store in the Meatpacking District has some of these on display in the LVC area, though I suspect they were not vintage.

I went to the new Levi's store in the Meatpacking District of NYC today. They have a limited selection of LVC in among quite a bit of other merchandise. I focused on the LVC so I can't tell you much about the rest. They had raw versions of 1890, 1915, 1933, 1944, 1947, 1954z, 1955, and 1966 (no 1937 for some reason). In addition, the Type I jacket, a Sunset chambray shirt with a chinstrap and two asymmetrical pockets similar to last season's, the sawtooth denim shirt, and some plain t-shirts. That what I remember at least. There were no washed or distressed versions of anything that I saw.
I was introduced to the staff "historian" named Robert who was very knowledgeable about LVC going back to the Valencia Street days. He knew about the 555 one button duck jacket for instance and discussed the accuracy of the details through the years. He was also knowledgeable about Lee Japan repros. I was impressed.
I hope they stock a broader range, though.

First you order it just before me, then you rub it in by showing it here. Now I am super depressed. But I did order the Buzz Rickson version instead.

Check out the fancy-ass "Roy" in a script font on his website home page. He's going upscale on us.

Apologies for those of you fed up with my lee 101LJ posts.
Keep them coming Doc.
Beautiful jacket. Hope you get a great price for it.

^ For real? Did you order 1.5" or 1.75"?I've had no problems with the belt loops so far.
Any pics entertainment! ?
I got 1.5". The belt did fit in the loops but it was so tight that I felt like if I sat down the belt loop would tear off where there is a double layer. I'll get a pic of the buckle up soon.
@BF-You don't have to get the "stamped" lines along the edge, but it comes standard unless you request otherwise.

I got my belt from Terry yesterday. Looks just like Mike's except for the buckle. I went with a rectangular nickle one. It is a beautiful belt, but I can only wear it with my ROYs. It is too thick for all the LVC I have tried it with so far!

Thanks, I had a look at the chart on SE...unfortunately I need 35 post-soak (my gen. 1 was 36 pre-soak)
Yes, that is a problem. That is the size I would want for a looser fit. The new 36 at actual 37.3 would be way too big for me.

Especially since my size (sz 35) is no longer made, I'd very much like to try on a pair when and if I eventually need a new pair of Roy's
I was bummed that he was no longer making the size 35 until I discovered it was now called a 34.

I have been telling my wife about the $275 Roys, so $195 didn't sound so bad.
