  1. For those interested in serious EDC you may want to check out the newest Werner Herzog Documentary. He goes to Antarctica to check out the people who work there. About half way through he talks to a mechanic who escaped the iron curtain. The man almost cries as he remembers what he went through and then shows off his edc... a 20 kilo go bag all kinds of stuff in it including an inflatable raft and collapsible kayak paddle. Very cool.

  2. I've been waiting to post this. The weather here in Toronto is awesome. Went for a ride my Vespa to only decent knife shop in the city (out in the boons) S and R Knives. Picked these up. Love the quality of the knife and the pen. Just got the Leatherman back from repairs. The eyeglass driver snapped off.

  3. Canadians, where do you have your denim repaired? Any reliable places in Canada? Any experiences sending to the US? I live in Sask, so not a lot of options close by. I'm debating between Denim Doctors, Schaeffer's, and Denim Therapy. My APC's have a crotch rip, and a few other small holes. With shipping costs in mind, not looking to spend a shitload.

Call Sydney's in Toronto. I get all my denim alterations done there and they mail take them in by mail if you ask. Sydney is doing his own denim line and used to custom tailored jeans.

  4. Just watched the movie "Encounters at the End of the World". The movie is about the people who live and work in Antarctica and about half way through they interview a guy who escaped the Iron Curtain back in the day. He always carries 20 kilo bag "just in case". Of all the things he carried the one that stood out the most was the mini inflatable raft and collapsible kayak paddle.

  5. thanks guys. looks like I will pass on the bonneville for now. been scoping a lot of sportser and older standard suzukis and hondas as they are a bit cheaper. for now I just want a bike to ride, maybe down the road once I might want to break it down to something else bobber inspired.

You might want to check out a 70s Honda CB. There are a ton of them out there. You can find nice ones cheap and they are super easy to maintain. They are a great ride. Get like a CB360 or 450, custom the seat and get some drop bars and you have one hell of a good looking bike and it won't take much to maintain... and because it is a Honda you can still get new old parts as companies still manufacture them

thanks du. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined but when it comes to carbs and tuning carbs it's a whole other beast.

Don't get an old British f you don want to work on it. You'll end up spending a fortune in service. Might be fun to get a well restored bike and leaning to tune it yourself. There is a lot of support for that sort bike online and tons of people willing to help.

  7. can anyone recommend a good place around the city for leather jacket cleaning?

Most dry cleaners do leather cleaning. It all gets sound out to a secondary company. Call Doc's Leather. I am sure they know someone good.

a.k.a. the only place i'll go.

+ who has been to the gerrard india bazaar??

thinking about wearing east indian clothing all summer...

I remember the days when they would actually have pregnant women there. Back then you could smoke inside and they wouldn't go near you casue, you know, the smoke is what is going to fuck up their babies.
