Yea, they weren't making jeans in Scotland in the '50s. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Levis didn't start up their Scottish plant until the late '60s and I believe the plant only did orange tab for the European market -- no 501s. I'd bet these are from the '90s or 2000s that corresponded with the licensing agreement to Europe that happened around that time.
I think it opened around 1983 and they made non-selvage 501s.
EDIT: I know it was open in 1983 thanks to Paul Ts book, but it may have opened before then.

Just won a pair of 37s from eBay for £22 in my size (32/34). They look in good condition and the seller said they've been washed once and worn a handful of times. We'll see...
Thanks to Mr Black for the link.

Side note: Some guy came into my Levi's store yesterday asking if I had henley's like the one the main character of Drive wore in the film. I told him to contact MF because they supplied it. I read online that people are dying to get that shirt. Funny how that movie has inspired guys to look cool.
I hope your boss isn't reading this and planning to discipline you for not trying to flog the customer a crappy imitation made by your own company!

Just started wearing my SD-101 that have been hanging in my wardrobe since the beginning of 2010. I love the cut and the smooth texture of the denim. Thanks again Freezie!

no hate cheep, just sad to see how one of my favourite posters turned into a grumpy old man.let me use your own words, slightly modified:
if you want being cynical and kicking other people butts better stay in supertrash.
i feel sorry for you.
I don't think people in supertrash who mock other posters' WAYWT outfits can realistically be described as grumpy old men, it seems far more of a juvenile practice to me. Not that I have any issues with juvenile behaviour.
In general I like almostnice's posts and sometimes abrasive sense of humour and am indifferent to/largely uninterested in those posted by faptronic. I also rarely visit supertrash but made an exception to follow this particular item.
It seems that there was a criticism of almostnice's outfit by faptronic in supertrash. Meanwhile almostnice regularly criticises other posters' WAYWT outfit on this thread. Perhaps I'm missing something obvious here but there really doesn't seem to be much difference between these two activities and this post smacks of pot and kettle.
Just my 2c.

This makes no sense to me at all. How much did you pay for those things?
I think they cost you a couple of broken legs and a few nights in hospital, then hey presto...

roy6's real name is Cuthbert, so if you refer to him by that in future, it should help to avoid confusion.

Today's heavyweight denim is tomorrow's pitiful lightweight object of derision. Keep your money in your pocket until the 50 oz stuff comes out!
In the meantime, you may want to consider this:

when your pregnant mrs decides she wants a bugaboo pram- and you see on google there's a ltd edition denim version......
and you spend all afternoon tracking one down, even tho' it's more expensive than the standard colours
It's raw, unsanforized stf too, better not take it out in the rain!

Stag was pretty awesome actually. I ended up getting my 1000 miles because I was tired of waiting for them hahaha
Don't walk back to LA in them. It's approximately 1551 miles on foot so they'd be worn out before you got there. Maybe you bought 2 pairs!

No fit pics, as I think I'd look a little too Jeremy Clarkson if I wore it with jeans...better looking though, obviously.
You've really got some Top Gear there CTB!

the boot is too big for you, get them resized by a cobbler.
What can a cobbler do for a boot that's too big? I've never heard of that before, but I'm interested to hear more.

'Planking' sounds a bit dirty and illicit too. Definitely has connotations...

Oh, calm the fuck down. It's not homophobia; the term has been appropriated in ways to single out idiots, retards, douchebags, bitches and any other word or title you'd love to take issue with because you're soft. Grow a pair.
Tits or balls?!

Would love to get a pair of the 101s, but the rise just isn't enough. I'd have to go back and check my LVC 66s, but I think their front rise once completely shrunk is 12.5". That's really as low as I'd like to go. From my experience with flight jackets made by some of the Japanese brands, they have proportion issues when they get above a size 44. Wouldn't be surprised if the same applies to some of the jeans manufactures when they get above a size 36.
BF, didn't realize your new Denime were the old stock XX. Thanks for the clarification, and nice find!
Mister Freedom Californians Lot 54 have a 14" rise in a size 38 if you can find 'em.
