  1. And if they're going to do something 30s, I'd much rather see them make the best late 30s 501 copy they can with their 1001 denim, or a hair on hide, buckle back Lee 101B.

It hurts so much reading this, having had my pair of 700 and 1936 WH Lee HoH BB 101B's stolen not too long ago. There remains a void in the late 30's era of my jeans, that these MW's just won't fill.

  2. Are the 0105 supposed to have small rear pockets? Compared to every other pair of jeans I have had, these are shallower by an inch, i.e. my wallet barely sits inside and my phone sticks out.

I did size down to a 29 from my usual 31 on these. Perhaps it's due to the scaling of the pockets to maintain proportions with the tag size?

  3. Hope anyone else who ordered from Inventory doesn't get shafted like I did. Who uses DHL to ship across the border instead of USPS?

$30 COD to receive an item declared at $40. Such bullshit. Hacks.

  4. Anybody have the waxed stadium jacket in black?  How do you like it?

I have the first version they released years ago. Love the materials, warm enough for winter in the Pacific Northwest, and nicely sewn together. I really wish the jacket was 2 inches shorter in the torso for a proper cropped fit; sometimes I fold the waist ribbing inside so the jacket looks shorter. I don't know if they altered the cut for the subsequent releases.

I don't own the new Type 3s, but I have the same problem with its length. FWIW, I prefer these two styles of jackets to sit at or just below the waist.

  5. Surely aho has a spreadsheet documenting every fabric used by Warehouse and which jeans they are featured on. Hard to keep track with the various monikers given to the fabrics, which are easily confused with lot numbers, etc.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around the fabrics I have handled; correct me if I mix these up

Memphis 7x6 (aka 1000XX denim, as featured on 700, 800, 660; has this been superseded by another denim?)

    Memphis 7x7 (featured on 1001XX 15th anniversary, 700XX?)

What is the "banner" denim, and where have we seen it used? I may have a pair of the 2013 1001 on the way.

There really needs to be a wiki about Warehouse's denim.

  6. With the loss of my Warehouse 700J's, there is a void in my denim life that only a fuller cut 501 repro can fill. tried wearing my Kapital TH, but I simply can't wear cuffed jeans any more so those will have to wait until they get a proper hem.

And so the time has come for the Fullcount 0105C:

  7. Yesterday marked one year of wear for my SEXFH05.

FTFY. That's original gangster. There was a barely worn pair on eBay not even a month ago.

I remember reading through the entire SEXFH05 thread to see the fading qualities and figure out sizing for the FH 1001s I eventually bought.

  8. For me, it's hard to separate the sentimental and aesthetic value of jeans and ultimately they complement each other to (pardon the cliche) become more than the sum of the parts.

For sentimental value, I'd have say my Burgus Lot 780. I built a house, studied, worked, and traveled in three different countries in them over four years. While the construction and details were not as great as the best manufacturers, the denim was unlike anything I had seen before. I had to retire them due to a tear in the thigh, which I had every intention of having repaired; however, they were stolen from me. This is what they looked like after two years.

Runner-up: Warehouse 700J. Less sentimentally valued, but still accompanied me on a lot of great adventures. I loved the subtlety of these in every sense: the cinch back, the unassuming denim, the raised belt loops and tops of the back pockets, the impeccable stitching. Also, these were my first pair of regular fit jeans that were hemmed to the proper length (since becoming a denim fiend)

and they made me realize not everything has to be slim and stacked. I had worn them for about a year and they were showcasing all of the things Warehouse does so well. Pity I didn't get to take any pictures of these before they were stolen. (Photo from when new)

For aesthetic value, I have to give it to my Fullcount 1108. Same mindblowing attention to detail as Warehouse, but the curved back pockets, arcs, and red tab put them over the top. Perhaps the softest hand of any denim I have felt, giving them a luxurious feel. The weight of the denim is perfect, whether in the heat of Thailand or the brisk PNW winter. I acquired these with light wear from the previous owner so they don't hold the same sentimental value; but they had been meticulously hemmed before soaking (or so I believe) as they have some great roping. It's a great slim fit, although it doesn't jive so well with the pre-war workwear aesthetic I've been rocking lately.

Warehouse and Fullcount are second to none. The beauty of both these houses is that the attention to detail is carried across all of their jeans, and their flagship denim is better than the "special run" most guys are using. The anniversary and limited releases are just the cherry on top. It just occurred to me I have pairs from both commemorating their respective 15th anniversaries, which is a testament to their dedication and mastery of their craft!

In a dark horse category, the Iron Heart 9301s truly were the ultimate black jeans. Armor-like 21oz denim, ink black colour that didn't fade, great slim silhouette. If only I were a punk rocker, barista, or server, then I would have lived in these jeans until they fell apart. Still, they had pretty good sentimental value. Purchased from SENY, and eventually brought back there to be hemmed (done perfectly on such heavy denim); cycled around SF and visited the original SE wearing them. Stopped by SEPDX, but then they were stolen later that day (along with the aforementioned jeans). Of all these jeans, this is the one cannot be replaced, as there simply is no other jean like it currently produced.

TL;DR Warehouse and Fullcount are the shit. Iron Heart/Self Edge, please make the 9301s again. There is some scumbag in Portland wearing my jeans.

  9. Goddamn, I miss my pair of 700. I loved the looser fit on them, and the wear was at that perfect stage where they were the most comfortable jeans. It makes me sad thinking about all the places I traveled in those, a lot harder loss to swallow than the Lees I had just bought.

I try not to think that I lost all the jeans I've worn in the past five years in one day, having thoughts of seppuku.

  10. Visited SEPDX yesterday. Shot the shit with tmadd for a while. Good people.

Then my car got broken into and my luggage stolen. Not to stray too far off topic, among the list of missing belongings:

Roy Duck-1 (size 31, hemmed to 30" inseam, soaked, not much visible wear)

Iron Heart 301s black (size 31, hemmed to 30" inseam, still super black)

Mister Freedom Liberty Issue CPO (moderate wear, Canadian passport and $100USD, in a red envelope, in the passport pocket, duh!)

    TFH black herringbone western shirt

    TFH brown jacquard western shirt

Plus a pile of other denim and clothes dear to me. Perhaps the most distinguishing, and visible at this time of year, is an orange Goretex shell (Marmot brand) jacket.

If anyone in PDX spots any seedy folk garbed in this attire, please PM me the details of the sighting. I have already filed a theft report with the police. Thanks.

NOT looking for any handouts from kiya and company. My own fault for leaving such valuables in the car. There comes a point in this Americana game where the clothes just become part of your regular life and you forget about the money invested.

  11. Thanks, MF!

I guess I won't be seeing radically different fading on these compared to the rest of my jeans after all, apart from these being sanforized.

I feel rather silly now having justified this purchase as the first LHT pair in my collection!

  12. BTW ed, any word on any Lee X Warehouse? They haven't done a pair in quite some time, I think I need to finally make the investment...

I've also been longing for a pair of Lee x Warehouse for some time. Happy to say I finally acquired a pair.

I'm not as familiar with the various iterations of the 101B as the 501, but I love all the details on these 1936s.

(Stupid mobile version won't let me insert images)

  13. That fit is ace. OG SC1947's with broken arcs and tab are a grail pair for me, slightly ashamed that I have watched a couple go for <$200 on the 'bay.

What are the fitment issues with the 1001XX (15th)? Too full of a cut? Slightly concerned having just purchased a pair, although measurements seem similar to my Warehouse 700J's which I'm still loving the crap out of.
