The 1085/95 steel will lose it's edge a bit quicker, but it's easy to touch it up. 5 minutes on a stone and a quick strop will keep it nice and sharp.

Did you see the note-box in blue that was in the first few seconds of the vid? Spyderco redesigned the lock and it is SOLID. Also in that test it failed on back blows to the spine, which has absolutely no real world application.

Underneath the somewhat gimmicky GID scales is a beast of a knife though. FFG Manix 2 Is an awesome knife and the lockup is superb.

I've wanted to get a tritium vial for the spacer in my Military, so i could see how the GID might come in handy.

^^ Was just about to post that. I have a super old one that was my Dad's floating around somewhere. I should find that. I also have an old card that was given out to protesting veteran's during Vietnam. People used to sew a dime into their jeans because if you were arrested, and lucky enough to have phone privileges, the cops would only let you use payphones, and wouldn't give you a dime for them. My dog Ruby. Today marks the one year anniversary of when I had to put her down because of complications with cancer. She wasn't eating, and kind of just didn't want to do anything. Her 10th birthday was two weeks prior, and she was running around like she was still a puppy. I have lucid dreams, and the two nights ago I had a dream that we were just running around in the backyard having a good time. She jumped on my shoulders and I saw my family happily watching from the kitchen window. Pretty much the best dream I ever had. Just remember how awesome your dogs are, and give them an extra treat and a scratch behind the ears for me.
