  1. More like 2 weeks at least...

Has anyone purchased shit recently? Have we all reached our best EDC setups? haha

I sent back my TSF for some detent adjustments to make it 100% legal..

I'm getting there. I'll be adding in my pistol and OC spray for a pretty heavy load out. I've been taking some training courses this summer and will continue to take more throughout the fall/winter, so my money is going there instead of gear.

EvilCrayon - Seems like a cool idea, first thing you need to decide is what size people want.

    Mini review:

ThruNite Neutron 2C - I got to use this in an open field in the country and was able to compare it to a surefire G2 led, X300, and another (executive maybe) and although it's bright and love the modes it doesn't throw that far and doesn't really have a 'center' beam/spotlight. It's more of an area flood light rather that an spotlight. Something to consider.

  2. Classes I would recommend: krav and ju jitsu, less lethal, edged weapons, close contact shooting, and a good handgun class. Im lucky that my good friend is an insructor with the company that Steve Fisher owns (currently also works with Magpul Dynamics) so I know I'm getting some awesome training. I still have along way to go though.

ETA: Not that I'm a Magpul fanboy, but the training I go to teaches he skills and mindset to protect myself, not super high speed tactical operator door-kicking stuff.

  3. I'll be running a M&P 9 compact (holds 12 plus one in the chamber) and probably another full-size mag (17) loaded with Gold Dot 124 grain +p in Raven Concealment Systems Vanguard or ACR. Appendix carry is pretty damn awesome with the right holster.

    And I'd rather carry a m&p or a glock than a 1911.

  4. Speaking of bear spray, I got to see a friend OC'd last week at a less lethal defense options training course and it sucked for him. I wanted to get sprayed but time didnt allow it. We tested out this http://www.zarc.com/us/personal/microspin.aspx and the stream was awesome. My friend is the instructor and has been hit 18 times and said that it was one the better sprays he's seen because of the design of the spray/nozzle.

Also stepped up my training with a close contact shooting course. Closest engagement I had was a with my barrel in the chest of the dummy.

  5. anyone have any experience with the ThruNite 1C.

looking to upgrade to a bigger light from my mini 123.

I love my ThruNite 2C, only thing lacking is the rubber is a bit sloppy over the on/off button, it doesnt quite exactly form around the button like a Surefire clicker has.

Everything else is awesome though, construction, knurling, clip, design, and fit are all perfect, the user interface is quite easy to learn as well. Body is thick and sturdy, yet still lightweight.

  6. I've been there for a few years. I change it up because I get bored. I've been carrying 2 knives and 2 lights on me at all times now, will most likely be carrying a gun soon since i've gotten back into shooting frequently and am at the level where I feel confident carrying.

Taking a taser/less lethal/OC spray training course because they're legal to carry in my state now. Also OC spray with 10% concentration is now legal also. Still can't carry an ASP or have suppressors or short barreled rifles here though :sigh:

Going to Mt. Olympus and Mt. Ranier, hope you all don't miss me too much. I'll be back in about 3 weeks.

    Stay safe EDCers!!
