  1. Either go way under budget or a good 40$+ over budget.

I feel like anything between 20$ and 140$ isn't worth it usually.

For 20$, you can get something that will do anything you want it to in regular usage and for 140$, you know it will never fail you.

I can't carry anything that is cheaper than a Benchmade 940 simply because I would never want it to fail in a life or death situation.

I don't know how other people feel about this but from what I've seen, there's always something that could be better on knives valued at around 100$.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there as there are a bunch of knives in the 40-90 range that can hold their own like the manix2, pacific salt, endura, delica, and a bunch of others.

    ^^^^

    Its an Anso Carabiner.

I have 2 custom carabiners e that should be done within the month as well for sale if you like that Anso. Both designs will be made of Titanium, Copper Tellurium and Aluminum in a few different color cerakotes.

    ;)

Of course the biner I like is 130, haha. PM me info

What would you guys say is your perfect EDC? I'm getting to a place where I need a new wallet, knife, lost my light, key fob is falling apart... I think I need a whole new setup. I don't think I can afford a custom knife, but I want something sturdy with versatility and an easy to maintain edge. 3 inches preferably. Thanks for any help.

It all depends on the person and what you want your EDC to be. I think a perfect knife is a Spyderco military 2, light would be a Surefire LX2.

Just got a Streamlight Styus Pro, AAA and 48 lumens, not bad for $20. It's nice and thin and has a sturdy clip so it stays in place, I'm happy with it.

  2. In many states it is ok to open carry without a permit if you're 21 or older. In the south if you see someone open carrying it's no big deal, because lots of people do it, and it's fairly common. I'm not a proponent of OCing because of the attention that comes with it, and if someone is going to try to mug me and my friends, I'm the first one getting a bat to the face probably. I'll carry concealed and have the surprise to my advantage.

In the UK crimes have gone up 40% since the gun ban, and in Michigan crime rates have gone down 10% since changing it's Concealed Pistol License to a "shall issue" policy. More guns in law abiding peoples hands = less crime.

  3. why the fuck?

If I'm going to carry pepper spray I want to know the effects it has on me and other people. If I ever have to use it, and somehow end up in court, I can say that I understood the effects it was going to have. If I ever had the unfortunate circumstance of getting sprayed in an attack, or got a secondary contamination due to the wind I wanted to know how bad it was going to be. I'm writing an AAR and will have a video up soon too.

  4. Well with the sharpmaker, you're not really sharpening, more like re-aligning the edge.

Sharpening isn't really difficult, it just takes the proper equipment (which doesn't come cheap...) and patience.

I think 35percent uses sandpaper and a mouse pad. It's the same concept as sharpening stones but (insert obvious statements). It certainly does the job well tho!

Only use the mousepad method if you want a CONVEX edge as the soft mousepad will change the geometry of the edge. Sandpaper on the edge of a table and a newspaper to strop can get blades razor sharp.

  5. One of the little black footies fell off the bottom of my MacBook Pro. :(
I had two fall off in the same week. Put a nice sized drop of super glue on each, and they've been on since.
I have to leave my apartment to buy super glue. :(

    Superb.

  6. I got my Magpul Executive iPhone4 case in the mail today and I love it. Made in U.S.A., $10, snaps into the phone and holds it securely, and is as minimal as possible. It's texturized but not sticky so it still can slide in and out of a pocket easily. I have Ghost Armor on the phone and the case fits fine over that. Only small gripe is the silence button is a bit hard to turn on and off because I have the Verizon model, and previously dropped my phone and it sort of smashed the button.

Overall a great product, especially for $10.

A better review and pictures here.
