get a stripper
and plenty of T-Pain coming out the speakers.
hearing that man wail through his machine is a surefire way to fill the room with nothing but joy. Seriously, I'm surprised T-Pain hasn't put the anti-depressants market out of commission.

looked him up on imdb. i have wanted to watch proposition for a while, can't find a copy, too lazy to order online.
his resume looks pretty tight and focused.

Nolan would do well w/ BM given how far i've read into the book
dark knight seemed to have too much of an impact on the collective psyche, and i think BM would be a project that would do justice in terms of progressing further along with the rest of his catalogue. if he wanted to keep along the epic/batman route at least, even another batman would fall under the shadow of the previous

stacking on trousers concept is one i fully support

hey dismal you grew up in St Louis?
i never really thought of it as a dark and bleak place until that list highlighted it
but shit, that could go for most of the midwest.
washington dc is a pretty depressing city...politics aside, went there for grade 10 school trip. the weather didn't help, all the malls and shit we went to seemed dead

on a digressive but somewhat related tangent -
i am interested to see what Scott will do with Blood Meridian. has any casting been done for this yet, or is it purely an in-the-discussions works still? the guy's been on a pretty down streak for a while, probably since Gladiator.

re: the ending
it shows that the book's grim tone throughout reveals an undertone of optimism, of the necessity to push on despite the destination clearly being a dead end. it is one of the more life affirming works in any creative medium to come in a while, along w/ The Wrestler in an elegiac finale that shows an unwavering courage in facing the impossible and absolute.

Been wanting something like this, but a bit taller.
(10)
it would've been funnier if you didn't include the (10), a joke is no longer funny when the punchline repeats itself

you askin me or him? i've seen julianREE put down some suicidal-ish thoughts on the board here and there, but i also saw a photo of him posing across the Landmark Louis Vuitton in Central in a pretty jolly looking mood, i dunno
i think about the issue of mortality quite often, as for my own suicide, never. pussy way to go out

oh yeah, btw the photos used are a brilliant stroke of irony. wonder if it was intentional or not
the guys at MSN must have been having a field day when compiling this shit

Number 1 doesn't come as a surprise, I think Detroit should be 2nd, am surprised at the inclusion of New Orleans, although given the modern context perhaps not so, Las Vegas proves that the writer of this list has a wry sense of humor, not to mention a very insightful eye. Atlanta, only drove through there once in December 2006, it was a cloudy day and did strike me as pretty bleak, would not go again.
Gary, Indiana should be on this list. Take off St. Louis and put Gary.
Discuss.

it sounds like you need to start a band, mate
nah, you just gotta accept that there are different clusters of understanding in the world. If you come across one that can't reconcile with yours, it is fine. no need to place too much of a grudge or judgment on it, just accept and move on.
it's a big world, you're bound to find something that clicks

that 'verbally bullied in hong kong' youtube is reminiscent of most of the best lookers here. They are at their best when in photographic form.
angelababy is thin and flat as a two-dimensional rail. she makes kate bosworth look like kim kardashian

i don't really hate anything, nor do i place an exuberantly positive value on anything either. I just see things as they are. If that comes off as too much of a flat affect, even leaning towards the cynical/misanthropic, so be it. I don't like dilution or saccharine.
I do think that anything in the forward will be for the better, even best, though, if that gives you a more well rounded picture.

not pessimistic
one of the grossest misconceptions about me. just realist, perhaps too bluntly so.

its overrated and uneven. some glimmering moments of brilliance but otherwise not much more as a literary work on its own, although its cultural relevance deserves merit.

not caring whether people like me for me or not just to have it come crumbling down one day at the hands of a pretty girl.
people will never like you for who you are

i went through a poetry collection of Joyce's the other day
i dunno if it's because the language is a bit archaic and/or unique to his locale...some were good, overall got a bit repetitive. Actually haven't read any Joyce novels, Ulysses seems interesting but a bit dense for me to go through at the moment.
Junky and Naked Lunch are a tough comparison...just made the connection because it was Burroughs.
for a more related comparison, Junky > On The Road, easily.
