  1. How they are going to enforce this GST threshold is beyond me.

The postal service and customs don't have the staff or resources to check every package that comes into the country.

I think the lower value of the Aussie dollar to overseas currencies will put a dampener on internet sales anyway.

The population here is really what limits the kind of brands that shops can stock. We have such a small market for certain brands and labels.

  2. I don't necessarily see it as a good thing that denimio stocks TCB though, it's a good thing for the general internet buyer but bad for all the stockists Inoue has outside Japan. I must check again the TCB shop pricing but it seems to me that denimio sells TCB stuff at less than Inoue himself. might be wrong though, typing from the iPhone now...will check from a computer. Anyway Denimio doesn't stock most TCB pieces in my size so I'll keep buying direct from Inoue anyway...I always enjoy the procedure and the Google-translated-Japanese-to-English chatter haha!!

btw I've been wearing regularly the Ranchman shirt, I might be an exception out there but I am totally delighted with the shirt and the fit. I am going to get the chambray version as well.

You are right Denimo is actually cheaper than the TCB online store. Not sure why that is ?

But it definitely hurts retailers who stock TCB and sell it at the RRP.

  3. 3sixteen, Orslow and Sugar Cane all do some nice lightweight summer options.

Its not just down the weight of the denim. The cut, weave and the type of cotton used all play a part. I get away with my 15 ounce Samurai's most of the year here in Sydney as they are a loose fit.

About three months of wear, one wash, one hot soak. Just starting to see some progress on them as well...

  5. Ya I really doubt having a huge silver chain in a place like manila will deter pickpockets from targeting you, more so like the complete opposite. I feel like this is a trend only applicable for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan & Korea. Anywhere else in the world is either going to get you unwanted attention due to the size of these chains or worse, a higher chance of getting mugged if they knew these chains are worth around 1k+ USD each.

    This ^

Also I think their popularity has endured in Japan and was never really out of fashion with certain circles.

  6. I'm pretty sure owning/having ever owned one or more Cassette Playa pieces disqualifies you from commenting on the topic.

The new season looks tough as always.  The Award jacket is amazing and the added badge of approval from Tenderloin on the sleeve makes even better.  Will Big Trouble Store be getting any in?

No we had to pass on the Award Jacket. Retail Price was just a little too high for the Sydney market.

    Great piece though.
