  1. on recurring dreams:

I have this recurring dream at times where I'm half asleep and I fall from a building or down a step/stairs and my leg twitches/jumps in real life. It feels so cool/weird

anyone know what I'm talking about?

Totally know what you're talking about. It's not a dream as much as I can just visualize it and it happens. I lie in my bed, imagine I'm falling backwards off a bridge, and then my entire body just twitches like I just fell into my bed. It's like playing with my gag reflex, it just feels weird but the fact that I have control over it is awesome.

As far as dreams/nightmares go, I'm always running away from something in my dreams. Whether it's the law or zombies, I'm always running and it's vital that I am not caught. Usually the dreams are 2-part where I'm getting away for a good amount of time but then I get caught when I least expect it. When it's zombie-themed, it's usually a boss monster from Resident Evil or something. If it's about the law, almost always a SWAT team.

But I always manage to get away by shooting everything in sight and just bouncing. Afterwards, I keep running and I end up in a very secure safehouse that's right under the "enemy's nose" and I have to sneak in somehow but they never catch me. I get lonely at that point cause I'm by myself and then I wake up and I'm super thankful none of what occured in my dream is actually real.

I have zombie ones at least once a week but besides the 1-2 dreams I get a week, I'm usually in deep slumber.

  2. The cutoff date for sign up seems awful far from now. Why not just give it 2 weeks?

If somebody doesn't see this thread in the timespan of 2 weeks, they'll probably flake anyway.

  3. It's not just that though. Blogspot seems like it has more in-depth features (not that I use them all the time) but tumblr seems almost... lacking. It really does seem like it's more oriented towards reblogging or posting photos/videos/audio than actual writing...

I'm probably talking to the wrong crowd about this though.

I stopped posting after barely a week had gone by. Tumblr seems so limited by their themes. Back to blogspot!

  5. What does it for me? Let's see...

I love girls with bright eyes, doesn't matter the color as long as you're not on this look all day -_______-. Cute smiles are definitely a plus as well. Key word: enthusiasm.

Girls who can speak another language fluently.

I really like girls who are into cars and motorcycles too but be able to back up your arguments. Don't just go off of what your guy friends tell you. You know the ones I'm talking about; all STIs and Evos.

Mega points if you go to the track regularly and/or drive a miata. And lastly, don't expect to drive my car anytime soon.

  6. lol. you tried to carry a knife onboard? that's kinda fail. you would've had better luck carrying a knife made of carbon fiber, frn, or g10

I had left them in my carry-on at the time :(

I have some polymer knives but don't really see the point in bringing a knife on a plane. Not to mention what would happen if I got caught with it...

What would I possibly need a knife for on a plane? It's not like those sky mall magazines are wrapped in plastic...

  7. Both would be pretty good options. Maxpedition stuff holds up pretty well.

Speaking of which, I just got a new backpack. The Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon II

Haven't gotten a real chance to use it yet but I'm going to be using this pack for 2 weeks straight through Hong Kong, Japan, and Nepal.

Also copped a titanium spork from REI for $1.79 and two pocket can openers for $1.50

tips on getting through airport security with no-fly edc items?

I've gotten 2 knives confiscated at security, a benchmade nimravus and a sebenza.

There is a reason they don't allow it through. Why risk the hassle when you could just put it in checked luggage? I'm sure you'll get on just fine without a knife for 8 hours or so. Anything besides a knife should be allowed but somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

  8. cool, cool.

    thanks everyone.

I tried on some Naomi at Self Edge today, size 25. I like the fit but it looked too much like the jeans i was already wearing that day. :(

Idk, I'm still debating on whether or not I should spend money on some.

    you definitely should.

why you say? cause denim is so hot.

All of them are wearing my pair of Flathead BSPs.

  9. knife question:

i want to get my dad a knife. but i want to get him something he can appreciate for functionality. so i am thinking some extra hard steel maybe...?

he uses his knife daily. cuts tree limbs. other landscape oriented stuff. prefers half serrated. any recommendations? is there some other characteristic you think he might appreciate more?

    trying to spend around $100.

For the budget, I'd just stick with Benchmade but more importantly, a good sharpener would be a great gift.

Skull lindas. Sorry for the shitty quality but you can tell the fit. Straight leg, no hips.

size 00, I'm usually 25. These are too small, I recommend getting size 0 unless you have a skinnier brother who can stretch yours out for you.

Please post some more photos. How long have you had them for?

and I'll stretch them out for you. ^_^

  11. Yeah don't worry about stalling, you will get over that really quick once you start riding more. The biggest thing is getting your shifting down going into corners

It's always better to start too small rather than too large. That thing will be lacking power once you get used to it, but if you have a budget, it will be great on gas (and insurance).

I've always told myself, it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. I've outpaced every single motorcyclist in the twisties while riding an Aprilia RS125. Sure, I won't beat anybody in a straight line but anybody with money can go fast in a straight line.

I've said this before in the thread and I'll stand by it. Start with the bike you want, not something you'll have to get rid of. I learned how to ride on a Softail Deluxe. 700lb, $20k Harley.

I think this only applies if you're going with heavy cruiser styled bikes. Nobody should be starting off with an R1 or an 1198s.

I started off with a 750cc and it was plenty fun but it took me a long time to ride it with full confidence. When I rode my first sub-250cc bike, I instantly felt at home and was riding 10/10 within the day.
