  1. Had to look up the def of economy of scale.

Yeah, I just assumed they made a lot of them and figured that "handcrafted" and "Japan" were just buzz words and these were actually just regular cheapo glasses with a high mark up.

They look cool enough. I can see why people would want to wear, just figured the demand wouldn't be all that high and again, assumed that they made a decent amount.

  4. ^^The white and black versions have been general released more or less the same as the ones Supreme did.

It would be nice to see the locs be no more than $50. However, I'm doubtful this will be the case. Being made in Japan really means fuck all for quality.

Since locs traditionally range fro $1.99-$5.00, its regrettable if a more quality version will go close to $100.

  5. man, you're not even on the level of this concept - the sweet of the raisins/cinnamon completes and compliments the salty/savory taste of the lox/cream cheese. it's a cornucopia and explosion of flavor and awesomeness.

and the fact that you don't mess with smoked fishes puts you even further down the wrung, I'm sorry.

    yeah, Yiddish.

When i was in junior high I read an interview with Method Man, where he stopped and got a turkey sandwich on a cinnamon raisin bagel. The interviewer questioned his choice of bread, to which Meth responded "everything tastes better on cinnamon and raisin".

This alone informed my palate for life.

  6. $68 for winos? ayeeee

Lets say the low for Winos is $12(Kato's. Manhattan Ave.) and the high being $20 on interweb, so go average price of $15-16.

For your money spent, a true pair of zig zags/winos will get you a canvas shoe with a cloth lining and an insole that is not much more than a piece of cloth laid over cardboard. The sole is actually pretty hollow and plastic looking. I've peeled back the insole and the sole is broken up into 1/6's by plastic bars. All and all winos have always made my feet hurt when wearing, however they are cheap and look good. The price also makes them pretty disposable.

I'm not saying $68 (DVS sells their Doughboy model for about $27-30) isnt an inflated price, but the fact that they went with leather to line the sole and upper and, fingers crossed, a legit rubber sole, makes me happy to spend the money for a pair that last and are comfortable.

Or just wait 1-2yrs and you can get them for close to normal pricing at the next warehouse sale.

  7. That isnt as bad as the other one i found.

I hope Lip Cream is meant to be taken as they like semen on the those fish kissed lips of theirs. Otherwise i'm saying straight gay on all fronts.

  8. Just read this from start to finish. Only bummer was that it had to get to page 13 for a mention of Screwball. Y2K was worth more than a couple listens. I always liked their logo. It reminds me of Garbage Pail Kids. The second album (Loyalty?) was blah. I vaguely remember there being some sort of posse cut on there i liked. Maybe just with Cormega, as opposed to posse. I think Hostyle put out a couple of mix cd's and maybe a solo. The rest of them i'm going to be optimistic and say they went on to work at ConEd.

The main contributors (heBay, Raised) know way more than I'll ever hope to know, so im not going to extol any credentials or make attempts to seem super down. Please just know that this thread is appreciated and you've inspired me to put 41st Side, QB's Finest, and Lake/Cormega "My Brothers Keeper" back on the ipod for a more thorough listen.

P.S. I was hipped to this through the High Fash Boots thread (which prior to yesterday I had zero interest in or any knowledge of what it discussed. Some of those are real nice) so i gotta give you double kudos for both threads.

  9. from the three posts i read on ss describing the lineup, it sounds like an older one - no order, people pushin, etc. the first neighborhood drop was the last time that shit happened - no orderly line on jersey today?

At least for the first 20min or so the release for the trainers was similar. The cops were there making kids line up behind the scaffolding and there was a general sense of disarray.

Nike just brings out the best behavior.
