  1. dude you are a fuckin maniac.

    <3

i've also named at least one of my rpg characters after mr cage before, but come to think of it it makes so much more sense to do it in a game where you can actually make a vague likeness like fallout or dragon age. will try it out soon.

but anyway yes time to kill rip! the only torrents i can find are in italian, since it's an italian film and all. i do think he's gotten better and more ridiculous with age though, his subdued madness in his more mature years is sublime.

also, fucking SUCKS that the tim burton x nic cage superman film never came into fruition.

he would've been in this suit:

i am seriously considering putting up a mural or nicolas cage on my wall

franklin cosgrove we need to hook up and make out and imagine we are each making out with nicolas cage.

  3. Naked for Satan has always been fun everytime I've gone. Food (bite sized pintxos) are only 2 bucks each, drink selection is great and the decor is awesome.

EDIT: just remembered pintxos are 50 cents during lunch so if you're here for a holiday rather having to to to work/school during the day go have day drinks and awesome cheap as fuck finger food.

Initially didn't want to blow this spot but the best food I've had here is in Footscray, wittily called Foodcrazy (the Chinese name is far more legit). Don't order safe stuff like the sweet and sour pork, that shit is for white suckas. Order the dangerous looking things. Don't accept the "white people menu", take the other one which has better stuff and is also in english. Almost every meal there has been mind blowing other than the abovementioned dish and the hot pot, which isn't bad but not outstanding.

The deep fried squid in particular is not what you'd expect. They sprinkle some crack on it to give it that extra zing. It's great.

  4. how much do prescription lenses cost here on average? i've got a pretty high degree and astigmatism but i don't need those really high index lenses. i'd heard they were significantly more than overseas even with health coverage, in which case i might have to schedule a flight back to singapore for a short holiday...

woke up this morning to find my yanagi gawa ichiro's completely mangled by my dog.

  5. They used to stock at EM, Milly Sleeping in Carlton and Verve Boutique in the city (not sure where else), and the collaborations are mostly certain pieces in a specific fabric request.

After their flagship store opened they pulled out from all their stockists I think. Hoshika and her husband aren't as often in the store anymore as she had given birth a couple months ago, but when they're in it's always interesting to have a chat about their pieces. They're always surprised at the super old stock my friend has, because we've gone there to repair some pieces before, which they're always happy to accomodate at their studio upstairs. Suprisingly they don't stock in Japan cos apparently it's too hard to find stockists there.

Always, always hyping this label here, good that people have finally taken notice! :D

It's really a shame they don't have much mens stuff (under the ESS Guerilla label name) but I guess they haven't found a significant enough market for the penis-equipped. The "circle" concept knit top fenrost posted above with the curving sleeves actually came with a matching set of dramatically curving pants and they were sooo comfy like some next level pyjamas but didn't really suit me.

  6. i go to ess pretty regularly, definitely more female stuff which my friend buys a lot of, but the mens stuff is pretty cool too (although a lot of interesting pieces have sold out). the winding pant which is basically a "<" shaped pant fits fucking awesome, but is too big for me. a few long coats and knits too. a lot of their pieces are made in super limited runs, depending on how much fabric they can get. sometimes they only have enough to make 2 or 3 pieces total, and there was this one jacket where the buttons were the most expensive part of it.

they have some pretty nice mens shoes though, pretty unique toebox shape.
