I think Cepz is confused since you hadn't asked a question.

Does anyone know what these sneakers are?

my s5000cx aka my answer to not being able to find slim fitting chinos came in today
If you got these only as a slim substitute for chinos doesn't it kind of miss the point if you have to taper them. Anyway, as Casper said they look good right now.

What are tram-lines? I was looking at Ironhearts' page and in their FAQs is a reference to these, and they recommend washing jeans inside out to avoid them. Just curious what they are. Are they discolorations/creases of some sort?

i doubt anyone actually sandpapers their whiskers.

If that's you say so... then there are a lot of wrongfully accused people out there, all of whom happen to be blessed with jeans that naturally look more like a cat's face than jeans.

I believe whiskers are faded mostly by rubbing against their neighboring whiskers, which is where hije comes in to the equation, making the denim under/above the whisker darker. This is one of the reasons, I believe, why "sandpapering" whiskers is so obvious.

it might not ruin the creases if you wear them in the tub... although i guess they would shrink out of proportion once you eventually wash them. opie's probably right that they're doomed. sorry, man. that's rough.

There are a lot of options. My suggestion is Nom de Guerre... although I'm sure there are way better, just that my only experience lies with these.
They are raw (non-selvedge), 14.5oz (my estimate), and very slim without being skinny. They're not really meant to fade well, but I wore mine for 5 months and they showed a lot of promise (past-tense "showed" because I had to prematurely retire them due to a devastatingly severe dog attack, as well as spilling an entire can of blue paint on to them). They were absolutely perfect in my opinion (EXCEPT) they have a prettty steep back rise. Anyway, good luck with your search. And props to your choice of color. Gray is a very underrated one in my opinion.

billy - amazing details. you make me really want a pair of my own.
sam - really great looking! they looked awesome before the wash, but we all have to let go of our childhood at some point (and that goes for jeans as well). but i do agree, i like a bit of grime! haha

These are chuck taylors...
They look more like Jack Purcells, except without the smile. Where can you get monochrome white Chucks?

Just wanted to give a shout out about this website I came across. Guy's name is Brit Eaton, and he's been called the Indiana Jones of denim, although he also searches for military and work wear. His site shows a video of his excavations as well as sells much of the clothing.
I figured this would be missed by a lot of people here if I were to put it in small questions, and it seems right up your guys' alley, so I risk being neg-repped. Bring it!

they shrunk up more in the thighs/legs
the inseam and waist didnt shrink up too much more but like kenthenoob said, they stretched out with wear.
thanks, ken and kenny. i was concerned just because mine were tight-to-the-max from the get-go, thus their initial soak consisted of me wearing them into the tub so as not to shrink them to the point of not even getting them on. i guess i'm just hoping that doesn't happen if i put them in the washer/dryer since i'm a bit too big to fit in my washer or dryer ( 6'1" ).

almost 5 months (of wear), 1 initial soak / hang dry, 1 wash/machine dry around 3 months
kenny, how much did the wash/machine dry shrink them compared to the first soak? i'm curious because i think i might have gotten a size smaller than i should've.
