I'm a newbie, so I won't start a new thread, but I'd be curious to see what movies people think have good jeans in them... I'm bias though since I'm a film nut, so I'm probably the only one.
By the way, I'm only curious because most of my personal style is heavily influenced by movies I like.

Do rescues really stretch more? When I got my first pair of rescues the shop owner told me to go down a size more than I would for ns's. I figured they were just bigger to begin with.

This thread might help, tony...

I know they had their own version by Quoddy a while ago, but I'm pretty sure these are fairly new. They told me that there was a positive writeup about the boots in GQ recently, though I haven't seen it. When I was handling them I did notice something written on the bottom... could've been 'russells' for all I know.

I could do the same, but I have bigger thighs, I'm afraid sizing down that much will get tight in that area.
I also have pretty large thighs...from being a ballet dancer (occupational hazard), and mine seem to fit okay. I'm a 32 in apc -- and I got a 31 in cm. I've only worn them for half a day and they've relaxed a little.

I just bought a pair of apc new standards and cheap monday unwashed blacks at rogues gallery's flagship store here in Portland, Maine (woot woot) today, and the girl there showed me their new line of shoes, being sold for $300. The nicest of which are these green boots you can see in their website's lookbook:

I'm sure they're not nearly on par with most of the boots you all talk about, but they're a lot slimmer than most, which I think would go well with skinnier jeans. Plus they're green!

I'm curious then, denimformytummy, why you're spending time on your nudies if you admit they're lower quality...

Just saw this on IMDb in reference to David Fincher's new movie, 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' with Brad Pitt.
"Filmmakers worked closely with Levi's to obtain clothing items from their Levi's Vintage Clothing collection to authenticate various time periods captured throughout the film."

Looking for raw grey or black jeans that'll fade to grey much like the uniqlo jeans here :
http://www.uniqlo.co.uk/catalogue/men/jeans/85376-gray-slim-fit-straight-jeans-s001
I'm leaning towards imperial dukes in black. I've also considered samurai s5000bk's but even after heavy fading, some parts seem too black for my taste.
suggestions?
I've been wearing Nom de Guerre's non-selvedge greys for a couple months now, and they've faded pretty similarly to those uniqlos... though they were a lot darker to begin with and I've washed them more than a few times. ALso, the denim is much higher quality than, let's say... apcs (since that's really the only other kind I've worn).

I also find your stacking impressive! I'm always adjusting my own, since they're constantly jutting out at random places.
