  1. looking good Corter! I just got mine in the mail today, thanks for the quick shipping. Pretty sweet belt, can't wait to give it some wear and tear!

    +repped

  2. those are sick Sam! +rep

Any chance of a better picture of the back patch? I love the idea of making it with raw leather and how it evolves along with the denim.

Loving my Dukes so far, got them from you guys about 5 months ago but they've been sharing time with a couple other pairs. Ill try to wear them harder and try to get some evo pics up. Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. ^ya, hopefully everyone that's been getting good wear into their oris will post progress pictures.

I didnt order with the first batch but I did read through the first ESEF thread and was a little worried reading through it. I actually had really good luck with e-mail correspondence with Steve. He was helpful with sizing questions and I also had to change shipping address' halfway throughout the waiting process.

I know a lot of you had to wait much longer than promised to receive your jeans. I think Steve purposely told us all a much later date so we would all be happy when we received them sooner than expected. We were told (everyone that pre-ordered the Sky) that the jeans would export japan around April 10th and would them be shipped to us around the end of April. I received mine yesterday which was at least a week or two before I was expecting them.

Pricing wise... That's a tough call. I realize that everyone running a business has the ultimate goal of making money but I wouldnt be lying if I said the only reason I purchased these was the price on the pre-order. I certainly didnt need another pair of jeans and will probably end up re-selling them but at $120 shipped I couldnt really pass up 21oz selvedge denim. Although the Sky is well constructed and very heavy duty its certainly hard to put them into the same category as my Flatheads or Imperials which are now right in the same price.

Bottom line- I'm overall impressed with the communication, service, price (@ the $120 pre-order of course), and the denim itself. He may have to reconsider his pricing plan if he wants to continue selling jeans but I think he is at least taking leaps and bounds towards bettering his business practices and I look forward to seeing fture products from ESEF

  4. I didn't know they bumped up the pricing... how much are they now? $220 or something?

Also, I don't think they actually make the jeans themselves, in my e-mail's from Steven I recall him saying how they were being shipped from japan so I think he just designs them and has them made over there...

  5. since the last ESEF thread got axed and Steven is now banned I assume it's safe to start a new one since there are several people breaking in the first batch and the new batch (including the 21 oz sky) is starting to arrive. I think I am one of the first people to receive the Sky. First 21 oz denim I've ever felt and they are HEAVY. Good constuction throughout and a decent cut too although a little too "work wear" for me... I sized up a size too since they only have even sizes.

  6. way too many...

•10-15 pairs of various designer pre-washes from before I discovered dry denim.

(these need to be sold as soon as I get the time and motivation to update the rest of my wardrobe)

•Nudie Regular Ralf dry selvedge (retired)

    •Nudie Regular Alf dry greycast

    •Imperial Duke

    •Flathead f310

    •ESEF Sky

Currently only rotating the dukes and f310's though...

  7. Loooking for a pair of dukes in 34

    get at me!

Seriously?!? Forget about searching, there are TWO people selling size 34 Dukes on this page alone!

vamks- they aren't available anywhere is LA... SE is your best bet!

  8. I hate not getting two day weekends... one day isn't even enough time for me to forget about how much I hate my job before I have to be back there again Monday morning.

  9. a couple quick questions...

does a 4 hour hot soak take care of nearly all shrinkage for my f310's or can I expect them to continue shrinking as they hit water?

also, the indigo in these is DEEP, how long can I expect them to bleed, 2 weeks, a month, more?!? I love having blue hands every day but I'd like to be able to sit on light colored couches again soon :)

  10. yea, that helps alot! a lot of people said the thighs are the tightest area, how drastic did that stretch?

THANKS MR.3001! you pretty much convinced me to get a size 29

    (Gap easy fit:size 29, Nudies Average joes:size 28, SC Okis:size 28)

Ya, I didn't mean to say that they wont stretch at all, they just aren't going to expand all over like most dry denim does. And since the main concern for everyone that's not stick thin is the thighs and they are the hardest to stretch, usually you're best off to measure the thighs and go by the tagged size that matches the closest, especially if you don't want a skin tight fit. You'd be better off to have a little bit extra room in the waist that you can fold over inside a belt than have them shrink down so much in the thighs that you can't put them on anymore.

Another thing to take into consideration is that the top of the thigh where the measurements are taken aren't really the problem area for me (I've read that several other people had this same problem, too) but rather how quickly the thigh slims down to the knee. The top of my thighs are perfect, but 4-6 inches down in the middle of the thigh is the snuggest area on the jeans.

I also have a soak/wash question for all those out there that have had their 3001's for a while... I think Kiya said that they would shrink a little through the first 3-6 washes... I purchased mine after they had already had a 4 hour hot soak. Do you think that took care of most/all of the shrinkage or should I play it safe and wear them till they are dry after washing when the time comes? I plan on washing them warm/40 C or so... Thank in advance.

  11. "Why the dry tumble ???"

    The question of the century.

nah man, Im not trying to go for a skin tight fit. Just slim..like skistar. That's a good fit imo. I just don't know if i should size up to 29 or 30

So I just read the first 20-30 pages of this thread when sid and crono and dino and everyone were getting their pairs and I'm sure they would all say to get a 30, you won't get much stretch out of these. too bad you can't +rep me cuz I deserve it for doing your work, now buy them and start breaking them in already!

  12. Here's the fit on my F310's...

I was in a rush and just threw on the closest pair of shoes I could find and snapped a quick picture, sorry for the shitty quality, shows the fit at least... I'll try to get some better pictures up this weekend if I ever get a day off work.

  13. ^those are absolutely perfect! I wish the inseam was 2" longer so I could get stacks like that though.

and mr.inv... I had to go out of town for an unexpected work trip and my camera didnt make it, I'm back home later today though and should have pictures up by this evening
