  1. Wat do u guys think?

Awesome fit! Looks real comfy and relaxed. Would love to see them with some wear to see what the denim is like. Is the denim very thick?

Only thing I would say is that the pockets look a touch too big. I prefer these with no arcs as well, nice and subtle.

  2. here are my pre taper/soak measurements ill follow them up with post measurements once they soak. im thinking they should react like normal s5000 cuts as far as shrinkage/stretching goes.

    waist 16.5

    front rise 11

    rear rise 14.5

    thigh 12

    inseam 37.5

    knee 9.5

    hem 9

sounds like we are the same exact body type and i always go with 32's in samurai.

    s710xx size 32

    s5000bk size 32

    s5000cx size 32

s0500 size 30 (was murder at first but they stretched out nicely) :P

How do you guys measure your waste if you say it's 34/35 but your rocking 32's all the time? My true waste is 34 but there is no way I could fit 32's. You sure your measuring your true waste?

This is my s5000vx 34's, pre and post soak:

    waste: 17, 16

    In seam: 36, 35

    Hem: 9.5, 9

    Front rise: 12, 11.25

    Back rise: 14.5, 14.5

Worn for a little under a month and showing a HEAP of fading for 1 month. These things are going to look crazy in 6 months. Haven't got anything to measure with now to see how much they have stretched, will try soon for some comparison. Definately finding perfection in the imperfection of this denim!

Just got them hemmed, best thing I did. They look great now with all kinds of shoes, from my kicks to my leather dress shoes and are way less bulky at the hem.

  3. BBC, they aren't painful at all, but I did get some hip and thumb pain stretching them on the first day. I was able to get them buttoned from the get-go but I had to take a deep breath. My natural waist is a 31 but I size down to a 30 in almost all of my jeans. These are much skinnier than I expected though... I was looking for a slim straight, and I'd call these a skinny straight. Much skinnier than my lvc47s in 32, and people say those run a size small (I hot washed and dried them)

Sorry bro, I thought there was something wrong with my theory, I fucked up the conversion from metric. Turns out I'm no where near as light as you! Makes much more sense now! Hahahaha.

  4. These are my KMW1980s on my third day wearing them. I just need a little more stretch in the top block. I'm 6 foot even, 160 pounds, and I sized down 1 to a 30 on these. Oh, and they're raw, made in japan, 34 inch inseam.

Wow, we are the same height and I only have about 7 pounds on you, but I'm a 34, couldn't go any smaller than a 33 on a good day! Are they painful? What's your natural waist?

  5. i still haven't reached this point yet, where i'd rather wear the same jeans all over again before trying a whole new pair.

i feel like there are so many great looking pairs out there i'm still curious for more.

    +1

Especially if you are going to fade them right in and get them looking good.

  6. The only way they could be raw is if they were second hand. Paying 315 pounds for a new pair of jeans is wack, but that much for a second hand pair! If they have been faded and are new, then they are not raw, easy as that.

  7. Not appealing, just thought this was funny.

    Some idiot posted this:

how do the samurai tee's run in terms of sizing? are they japanese sized?

i found a couple nice ones i like but the site does not have measurements so that is gonna make things tough unless someone has experience with the tee's?

    So I posted this:

    Lazy much?

Read the last 2 pages, pretty much all there.

Didn't think anything of it, till I got this:

reputation_balance.gifSamurai Denim [Redux] 05-23-2008 01:05 AM tourstage_bapesta thanks for the help(or lack thereof)...waste of time

I was a little bemused, till I realised it was grey! Hahahaha.

P.S. I neg reped back. Hahaha

  8. I've only had two pairs of raw denim so far, the first pair was some shitty band that was a present and I washed them whenever and they just bled like crazy and gave horrible fades. Second pair is nudides (-_- I know don't flame me) I'm assuming its the same with these so I'm going to wear them for as long as possible without washing. Also if your really keen on wearing your jeans for a year with no wash you can use febreeze or perfume/cologne or something to make them smell better. From past experience sometimes if you just air them out they smell better too.

Putting Febreeze and cologne on your jeans is link doing the same with a stinking pair of shoes, it never gets rid of the smell, just blends in with it, leaving your jeans smelling even more strange.

There are two ways to get rid of the dank. Hang them outside. If they are bad, make it over night or a few days. If they still smell nasty enough that even you can't stand them, then wash them. Easy.

P.S. Hold out on the Nudies, you will only get a few washes before they are washed out, so make them good ones!

  9. blm14 hit the nail on the head. If you are wearing shitty denimz, then you can't wash or they loose too much colour. That's why Nudie et al all look good with minimum washing, because they loose so much when you do.

If you are wearing good quality jeans, then there is nothing wrong with washing them when they are dirty. I'm not saying washing them after 3 months, if you have only worn the 3 times, but if you have put then hours into them, and it's good quality denim, then wash them nasty things for christ sakes!

That's why denim is so special, everyone gets different results from different types of wear/wash patterns/climates/etc. There is no formular, just do your own thing.

  11. My keys. Don't want to get drunk and mix them up in my change and accidently hand over keys instead of cash. I know they are safe and not going anywhere if they are in there.
