  1. Iron Heart 634S, 21oz raw selvedge denim straight cut jean. Sz 32x34 and just too small for me. They were tight when I purchased them and expected them to stretch but they didn't budget. Now I'm just too big to fit them.

Purchased at Bears in Japan in Nov 2010. Worn on and off and washed a few times. Has the Bears stamp on the pocket, which means they are covered under their warranty for life. You blow the crotch or rip a pocket bag and they will fix it for you for free.

€120 ono. I live in Munich so shipping to the EU is easiest. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

  2. Well we have a 'Denim in Tokyo' thread, but nothing on Osaka. I'm living in Tokyo, so I know what most of the shops are like here, I was wondering if anyone had done the denim rounds in Tokyo and Osaka and could recommend anything different in Osaka that they didn't experience in Tokyo.

I thought Osaka could have a lot of potential as a lot of Japanese brands started there. So, anywhere to look out for?

  3. Hey y'all!!!

I have been waiting for the admins to allow me post something. Finally the time has came :) Read this thread from the start till the end lol. A very amazing thread and i got a quite amount of knowledge :P Im a proud owner of no.2 Lot.0331 pair of jeans and soon-to-be no1. gold embedded special edition owner. :D

The amazing fact i found out was, the current pair i own, 0331 no.2, is actually a slim-fit! Man, i tot it was a baggy style lol.

Questions questions. How do u actually find the model number and the cutting model? the #2000, #2001, etc. I bought my first evisu pair on last nov. Hardly use it, because i baby him so badly. havent been washed ever since. will prolly send the pics how it goes with me. So, do you think i should soak it to fit me well? because currently its baggy all over. If yes, use hot or cold? and wear them while wet?

PS: I like ur jeans PlanetMetal. and grats to Tek

You already know your model number? You stated it above.

The model number is on the bottom left of the patch. The type of denim (e.g. No 1, No 2, etc.) is in large print over most of the patch.

If you read the whole thread, you should of found out that No 2 denim, like you say you have, is safronised, so you wont get much shrinking after a soak. I would leave them till they are dirty then give them a hot wash. If you insist of soaking, making it a hot one and don't wear while wet. Let them hang dry till they are totally dry.

On different note, made a purpose trip to the Evisu store today in Daikanyama because I convinced myself the lighter denim of some No 1's would be better for summer. Really unimpressed with that place! They only had really loud jeans on display, heaps of Paris models (in Tokyo???) and not one pair of normal No 1 or No 2 denim anywhere. I had to ask about them and she said they get them ordered in with your own selection of arc in whatever colour you like. Pretty much like ordering online but with custom arcs. Prices were 21 000 yen for No 2's and 30 400 for No 1's including the paint job. Oh and yeah and I don't think my logic of that denim being good for summer is right, it felt far from light! Hahaha.

  4. rockon99, get em hemmed bro, with an inch or two of cuff. Trust me, you wont regret it! I did it to mine and they now work with everything! You can uncuff em on certain shoes to get a small stack, or a small cuff on other shoes to get a cleaner look. So much more versatile. I got fit pics of my Sams after cuff in the Sam thread somewhere, check em.

  5. This must be new, I've been going to Americaya for the last 8 years, never once had to pay for chainstitching.

You sure it was chain stitched? They said I could take them home and soak/wash etc. and come back with the jeans and reciept and they would do a normaal hem for free, but a chain stitch would be 800 yen. This was the Shibuya store. They had a machine in there to do a normal stitch, but I'm guessing they would have to send them off to do the chain stitch because they said it would take a few days if chain stitched. Better than Denim Dr though, charged me 1600 yen!!!

  6. mine are really slow fading, but i must keep on wearing after seeing you guys pairs after 5 and 6 months of wearing. maybe i should try a wash soon too...

Don't wash to get fades, wear to get fades!

  7. I wouldn't say it's superfluous at all, it took several hours and several water changes to get mine down to the tagged inseam of 36". I emailed BiG with some hemming questions and mentioned that after a few hours the inseam was still around 37" and Gordon said that with such heavy denim it often takes a few washes/soaks to really get all the shrinking out of the way

How do you know it wouldn't have been the same with just one tub of water and a 45 mins soak? BiG suggested a few soaks/washed, this is different to one long soak. Kiya has tested, and he said that anything longer than 45 mins is a waste of jean wearing time. Sure, multiple soaks/washes could yeild more shrink, BUT the jeans dry inbetween.

they aren't supposed to be all comfy and shit

WORD! Mine were not comfy at all and hardly set any creases or anything till just now and that's 2 months on. Also, think I have finally set most of the creases. The denim is slowly changing, the parts with more ware are real soft now. But they have faded really fast. Only problem is, I sweated the shit out of them, so gotta wash after the weekend, they fucking stink! Been airing a lot lately and it's not helping at all, that's when I know it's time for a wash.
