  1. LOVED it for some parts and some others were boring (same with j'ai tué ma mère).

Absolutely hate the girls in it (sup isabelle) and Xavier Dolan is overhyped (omg hipster teenager doing films about gay teenagers, etc.)

    Good film tho.

    what about you?

  2. Btw, thanks for posting the pics up so fast, your gladness really made my day. I just need to remember to rep you when i can!

Oh and make sure you try that restaurant if you ever visit Montreal, there's just no words to describe it. I'm about to leave the country for an undefined amount of time, and it is heart wrenching to say adieu to the duck-in-a-can

  3. Wow, that was fast! I shipped the package just last wednesday night, and thursday was a national holiday.. so it got there in only 2 days? Damn

Anyway, glad you appreciate it, I was really hoping you would after reading this post ! Would've felt like crap if it disappointed

Oh and just so you don't think I was full of shite about the cigs:

But the CanPost dude clearly told me it was illegal to ship any kind of tobacco outside the province =/

  4. Somebody give me instructions on what to buy to ride in 20º weather. This midwestern thing is kicking my san diegan ass.
I wear a polypro baselayer, fleece midlayer and windproof shell for that kind of temperature. I generally skip the fleece and use armwarmers for warmer days.

For gloves, I just use defeet duragloves and layer snowboarding gloves when it gets too cold. I ride with my bibs only for quite a while, and then layer generic non-baggy sport pants for below ~5 deg celsius. Have yet to try winter bibs or leg warmers.

  5. suggestions? I mean, I mainly just want to try the basic fixie tricks, no stairs or anything like that. So obviously the frame doesn't have to be super solid. I'd rather have it ride well than trick well.
    Haha... oh well

Your current frame is probably just fine.. no frame will really make you faster or better, but if you're seeking the track look, I'd go with a Vigorelli off PBK. They bumped up the price a little, it was around 500 a couple months ago.. you can always use "extra10" coupon and you won't bust your budget too much

Prob the best tarck frame you can get for the money, if you can stomach the color scheme.

  6. I'm not looking for a dedicated tricking frame or anything like that, just something i can go fast on and goof off with.
I'd try to look for some fast frames. Yes they cost a bit more than slow and regular frames, but you'll be lapping all the roadies and ktothe in no time
  7. djraijo is dead. He was caught manhandling a broad on 130th and lennox, she was a black girl, and his asian body couldn't withstand getting beaten by thirty black gang members.

R.I.P. raijo, no need to bump this thread any longer :(

    Fuck money

    Get bitches

    Withstand 30 cocks

  8. ^ my concern is in situations like:

    a) Need to brake in the rain one of those metal plates they use to cover street work. You're fucked.

    B) Need to brake and your chain has fallen off. You're fucked.

    c) Need to brake and your foot has popped out of your toe clips (which hopefully you HAVE) at high velocity. You're fucked.

    d) Need to brake and your rear hub is busted. You're fucked.

I'm not saying you should USE it in lieu of backpedaling if you're more comfortable with that method, just that I think it's nuts to not at least have a backup when there are so many circumstances (I bet others could come up with more) under which that method is either not available or not effective.

Although I agree that with practice you can learn to avoid dangerous situations, it takes a while to get there (some people never do - just last week I saw a dude wipe out on a metal plate near houston street and nearly get his head crushed by an SUV). And even then you can't account for shit happening quickly.

I mean, I like fixed gears, I own one. I just don't ride it around town on errands. It stays on the track or in the circle on central park, where it belongs.I use a geared bike the rest of the time. With brakes. :)

My chain dropped while spinning down on one of the biggest hill in my area, I was real glad I had a front brake. Seriously, you don't even realize what's going on in the moment.. I heard a loud bang and slammed the brake instinctively to see what the damage was. I'd be surprised if anyone had the reflex to jam their foot on the wheel the first time it happens to them

Of course if you're just gonna be riding around the city its not really a concern, but for longer rides in hilly terrain, a brake is definitely a good idea IMO. It'll save you a lot of energy as well.

  9. It only looks ugly if you don't like skidding.
    Best argument ever.

Regardless, me saying it looks ugly was obviously subjective, and it stands no matter how close your butt gets to the saddle.

The rest of your post wasn't really making a point against what I said, but if you think your knees feel better now, update us when you hit 40. It's like a smoker defending his cigarette use cause 'his lungs feel better than back when he was working in the asbestos mine'

  10. I don't know what's the big deal with learning to skid. It looks ugly, damages your tire, can fuck up your knees and doesn't stop you faster. If you want to learn something useful on your fixie, learn trackstands.

  11. BlXI!

I kid. B&W Look 585, and an all black bike w/ red striped Hutchinson's and gold risers, low black rims many spokes.

I'm getting a TBD road bike for a winter trainer though too, can't be getting salt all over the Look...

Damn, didn't know any of you guys were in montreal.

I think the only bike I've seen that could possibly have belonged to a sufu dude was a silver fixie with "bike or die" decals locked with a red supreme chain in front of benelux, corner sherbrooke/jeanne-mance. Or it could have been someone from hypebeast.. you just don't see a lot of Supreme stuff up in here.

  12. If we're all serious about what we just said, we can all send to ease the pain.
yeah, I'm pretty serious about it. Was sad I wasn't around when you guys organized this, and sending stuff is the best part so id be happy to join now :)

Just need confirmation that some people didn't send anything.. wouldn't want some swappers to get 2 packages while others get nothing

  13. If some people admit to not sending their shit or are just mia, I'll volunteer for a superdonation. I'd love to cheer some of you folks with canadian foie gras poutine, clubbed seals and maple-syruped jawns

  14. Interest check on two knives here

I'm looking at selling both a waved emerson mini cqc7 with black coated plain edge and spyderco khukuri (discontinued model). Comes with box, plastic bag and all documentation.

Both knives are mint, lightly carried but never used to cut anything more than paper. They've never been sharpened and ended up in my drawer for the last few months. The only damage is on the emerson's screw, I chipped off some paint when unlocking it after receiving it, but nothing too noticeable.

I feel I just have too many knives and looking at trimming down my collection to maybe one or two at most..

    Some pics:

...Why is he wearing vaginas around his neck?

In my locker in the locker room at Xclusive lie three vaginas I recently sliced out of various women Iâ€ve attacked in the past week. Two are washed off, one isn’t. There’s a barrette clipped to one of them, a blue ribbon from Hèrmes tied around my favourite.
  16. Did you actually check the inside of the tire? I've never seen problems like that, but if you patch it, I bet it will stop leaking.

Yes I did check it, and it's clean. But it makes no sense that even though the tubes were aligned differently with the tire, the punctures are located at exactly the same spot...

Also, I don't think it's a pressure problem as there is a gauge on my pump, and I never had a problem with the rear tire.

Anyway, I guess a patch kit would be the cheapest and most logical way to fix this. I feel bad whenever I throw a tube, let alone 2

  17. I got a little problem regarding bike tubes, hope one of you guys can help me..

So I've been running on the same tube the whole summer with no problems. About 2 weeks ago, the front wheel's tube got a slow leak and started getting flat in roughly 24 hours. I decided to change the tube, left the bike there and next day it was still inflated. I then went for a ~15miles ride, and the next morning the tire was flat again.

Today I decided to inspect both tubes, and found the leak to be coming from the exact same spot; right under where the valve is. The thing tho is I know for sure it doesn't have to do with something stuck in the tire cause I only aligned the tire's tag with the valve on the second tube.

Here's a pic to show where both tubes are leaking. It really is at the seam of that sort of "patch" right under the valve.

    dsc0372l.jpg

So is there something I'm doing wrong? I don't want to go out and buy a third tube only to have it flat on me the next day.

Also, the big tube is the one I used all summer long, a 20-28 Specialized while the small one (the more serious leak) is a 20-23 Kenda.

    thanks

  18. anyone know if i could get a sharbo in canada? kinda dont want to pay for the shipping on jetpens.....
I'm in canada, ordered twice from jetpen with the 5$ shipping and never had a problem. USPS/CanPost are reliable, so unless you're one of those guys who pays for extended warranty on his electronics, I don't see the problem.

And thanks brane for the nod on your blog, noticed a while ago and meant to rep but I need to spread first. Will rep when I can

  19. nice, i have the exact same wallet.

honestly do you guys use all this extra metal you lug around?

i'm sure this has been asked before, and i am probably being a loser, but it just seems impractical and a hinderance. I like to keep light, I only carry:

    •iphone

    •wallet

    •headphones

    •chapstick

and that's usually all i carry.

i am quite young so there is no need for me to carry a lot of the stuff you guys do, but when it comes to like stuff like flashlights, do you really encounter situations where you need them? just an inquiry. i'm probably being ignorant. apologies.

(i am quite a fan of the edc tumblr and looking at this sort of stuff).

I found that a flashlight was the item I used the least often, yet the one I was most glad to have when I really needed it. It's certainly a good thing to have on you (yeah, might sound ironical coming from me right now.. ;) )

    ---

Just got this (pilot S10) from jetpens the other day. First time I buy something worth more than 2 dollars, so definitely looking forward to see how it handles through extended use in class
