  1. i have a friend who randomly takes his pants off and starts pissing on the spot when hes crunk. it's such a bugout, especially when you are high.

Reminds me back then, on the first few cold nights of the fall, we'd go to bars and pee on some cars' windshields. It would freeze off and since people usually didn't carry ice scrappers yet, they'd have to remove it with credit card/finger nails/etc.

    Young and stupid concept

  2. ^this

iirc, the general way to know if your saddle is well positioned is that when your cranks are horizontal, a string dropping from the knee that is in front should fall directly on the pedal's axle.

Once you find this ideal position, if the reach is still not right you need a different stem/frame. But then again, that's just general guidelines so I don't know how valid they are...

  3. let me get this straight:

you are asking the kind of question that an extremely rude white tourist would ask, because you are what, an idiot, a sort of racist...I dunno? "Ha ha them slant eyes totally dress alike in couples how strange and completely unlike us normal Americans!"

The title of this thread is 'the "ask an asian" thread'. Stupid questions are meant to ensue.

it's just like going in the ask a black dude thread and being pissed off cause someone ask "lol why so many black guys in popeyes"

    just sayin

  4. Jeez, it's like all you guys do is speculate based on BF arguments and have never actually read a book say nothing of properly working on a bike.

Lube your cables always, unless they are pre-lubed or you're using some crazy new-deal cables that cost $100 and say not to. Don't use thick greasy lube, but lube them.

    Always. Regularly.

Unfortunately, I don't read nor partake in "BF arguments"

I just said this based on what the guy at the LBS told me when i bought the cables, to change the setup from a cross lever to hoods. The cross lever was preinstalled on another bike from another shop and there was not a drop of lube on it.

I had no problems as of yet with the cable, been there for 3 months and it's still pretty smooth.

I'd like to know what's the reasoning for lubing it tho. Rust prevention, smoothness, durability?

  5. Actually I remember now that i drilled and put a set screw in my dummy lever that I didn't use on my fg trainer; it was removable when I needed to use the lever again and didn't budge in use.

Please use the Park tool site for information on cables. Housings are cut to length off a spool and then finished. Lube before installation, cut cable to length, crimp cable end on.

That Bianchi has unfortunate wheels, saddle, and seatpin. No reason to leave gears on, though save those Suntour PowerRatchets, I love those.

You mean lubing the inner cable inside the housing? I'm pretty sure this is not needed, and might even cause problems in the long run if gunk gets stuck in there
  6. I've seen pics of leverless hoods, its ugly.

I have drops and hoods right now, ditched the bullhorns for a while since I'm not doing any "street riding", but mostly long-distance fitness rides...

I put some sram brake levers, one is connected to the front brake and I jammed a spare piece of cork tape in the other one to prevent it from moving around. It's sweet and looks good imo

    2. I haven't made a single good friend in my hometown after highschool. All my best friends live abroad, or were met during my early years

    3. My parents paid for all my tuition fees, ever, and it's the only reason that drives me not to quit university

    4. I am currently in the process of inheriting large sums of money, most of which is going to charities

    5. I don't care much for money, and I feel sad for people who will give up their own dignity for it

  8. basically, yeah. lmao

i bought my steamroller for $250 off CL looking like this:

    http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/269/surly1.jpg

    and made it into this:

    http://img573.imageshack.us/img573/2694/bghatx.jpg

had the thing for less than 3 months..i opted for them to take the whole thing away and compensate me for the bike and all the parts i put into it. told the claims adjuster i bought the bike as a complete for $700 brand new, got it powder-coated for $150, and ran through the list of parts i bought for it since.

i just want a decent complete (for cheap) that i can build up to my liking with the extra money..and save the rest.

Ah i see.. just different mindsets I guess. If I received 1.4k from insurance claim after a bike crash, that would be labeled as "bike money" and I'd prob splurge on something real nice :o
  9. aliens is a pretty phallic and sexualized film.

porno is phallic (even lesbian porn provides a strapon/dildo for the viewer to synchronize their salt and pepper shaker action to) and highly sexualized, obviously.

why is there no porno starring the aliens, possibly with a predator thrown in for good measure?

Japan, I am looking at you.

Bonus: Call it "Sexual Predators vs. Aliens". Main character could be a T-girl called "Dickley" or something, I don't know.

I would love to see an Alien-Carl Weathers hybrid
  10. Yo, this guy has some $500 jeans, you can't touch him.

First of all this is not my "first decent pair" of jeans ever, I own a couple pairs of raleigh's (one being the $500 25th anniversary pair), a pair of ande whall cougars, a 3sixteen x 10 BSP pair, and an iron heart DC 4001 pair so I know my denim, and second of all I was excited about my Roy's and wanted to share that with the superdenim blog so yeah, my picture is not the best but damn, why you have to be such a hyper critical denim snob?
  11. if my choice is exposing myself to radiation or getting groped by airport security, i'm going to go commando in sweat pants and pop a viagra beforehand and make it uncomfortable for both of us
Haha.. but really, if you're worried about security screening radiation, you shouldn't fly in the first place

People are so scared of that shit. Some friend once asked me how come my watch was glowing so bright, and the moment I mentioned radioactivity he stepped back a little, lol

  12. lol did you look to see if Jennifer noticed?
Didn't dare to look her way.. yet part of me just wanted to say "Yes, we are talking about you, Jen"

    edit:

girlfriend is studying abroad next semester. we've been talking since may but have only been really "together" since october. she wants to stay together while shes abroad. i don't know what to do. loads of people have said to end it cause shit just gets fucked with the distance etc. can't make up my mind. don't want to fuck anything up cause she's definitely a keeper.
If you think she's worth it, and you both want to do this, then go for it, absolutely.

I've been doing the long distance thing with my gf for close to 6 years and we're still going strong and glad we never gave up. And I'm not talking 2-hours-drive kind of long distance.. I'm talking 20-fucking-hours-by-plane long distance.. for periods of up to 8 months without seeing each other.

Lots of people will tell you it doesn't work, but there's some hope if you're really dedicated to each other. Edmond be my witness.

  13. I have the case number for the police report. Once its finished, I am going to file a claim. Need new glasses (they were thrown and broken), and something is fucked with the drivetrain. The police faulted him completely. Anyone have any helmet recommendations? Willing to spend around $150 for a well fitting, comfortable, and if possible, cool looking helmet. If it doesn't fit well, I won't use it. Thinking a Giro Atmos, but not sure.
Most people say go with Specialized/Giro if you have an oval shaped head or Bell if your head is rounder.

Personally, I just went to my LBS, tried on a few and ended up with a Specialized Propero. I also liked the fit of the Catlike Kompact, but didn't like the look of it on my head (and the extra $50)

So yeah, I'd say go try on a few, you'll be most satisfied that way

  14. I feel like such a horrible person right now.. my gf and I were at a starbucks, both working on school related stuff on our respective laptops, and there was this rather corpulent girl sitting next to us taking a table for 4 on her own, which also happened to be the only table with an ac plug

She then picked up her cellphone and said something like "hey!, yeah it's Jennifer blah blah" in an overly annoying way, so I told my gf through msn that she was a cunt and countless other nasty things

She then looked up at me and asked out loud "who's jennifer?". At that point I was petrified, I couldn't move or say anything at all except give her the death stare. Thinking I had no clue, she continued while giggling "fucking fat bitch? stupid cunt taking the whole space? haha what are you talking about?". I felt so small

  15. I think that people are often introduced to Supertalk via the denim forum - I know I was. After absorbing much of what was on offer there, people would venture out into other areas of the site - the old "I came for the denim and stayed for the Trash" thing. People would begin with posting their denim fits in the WAYWT but their looks would be refined and evolve over time because they were being developed alongside others coming from different perspectives.

I think that the introduction of the Denim WAYWT thread, along with ones such as "What Are You Jeans Doing Today", have resulted in a stronger community amongst the denim enthusiasts, but a community that tends to not be as critical of its own. People's fits are not subject to the kind of scrutiny they would by those with other perspectives and so they grow in confidence and eventually post in the main WAYWTs at which point they are either ignored and believe what they are being told within their own community, or they are surprised when taken to task for their fits.

One possible solution would be the merging of all WAYWT threads into one super thread in which everyone posts and is able to comment. Of course all three WAYWTs are in the top ten most viewed threads so I don't see that happening but I would be interested in people's thoughts on the matter.

I think it's good to have several WAYWT threads for different tastes.. I definitely am not interested in the denim thread so I'm glad I don't have to filter through those posts when I check the trash. I just think people should pick one thread and stick with it.

I find it funny when you see the same fit posted in each thread, at the exact same time. I always picture the scene, a user with 3 tabs opened on his browser, copy-pasting and posting the fits simultaneously, to then start nervously refreshing supercontrol hoping to see the reps accumulate.

  16. Google translate translates shit in a very basic way, i was going for "the boy who cried fashion" are u french or some thing?
    I am.

The boy who cried fashion = Le garçon qui criait mode.

That would be read as -> the boy who yelled "fashion"

The verb tense used would also imply that he yelled it more than once. As if he was running around the neighbourhood yelling FASHION FASHION FASHION

Let me know if you had other ideas that you'd like to translate to french. I see lots of food bloggers using badly translated french and it always makes me giggle.

  17. It sounds weird. "Crier de" can be used with an emotion, such as "crier de joie" or "crier de peur", but using "mode" doesn't really work, unless that's what you're going for.

Personally I'd prefer Le garçon qui criait à la mode. Doesn't make much more sense, but it's more pleasing to the ear IMO

  18. So nice to see the care package initiative actually working out.. good job syed, and tarotron as well for organizing it.

I was seeing this as a one-time thing, but it was real fun and I'm thinking about maybe joining v5 now :o
