  1. Suggest a denim for me:

    - Something with a smaller leg opening (slight taper)

    - Slouchy, slightly more room in thighs

    - Black or Indigo, doesn't matter

    - Raw and selvedge.

    Here's an example

By the way, I'm about 6' about 180, and my natural waist is about ~32-33

Dior homme 21cm black silver selvedges would be a nice jean overall for you. The skull 6x6's or 5010's as mentioned would be good for you as well. The flat head bsps may be good for you too if you were looking something that was actually kind of more of a skinny jean. Check them all out.

  2. Now that's a good deal right there; I'm considering an early X-mas present for myself :)

Have you seen the paisley pocket jeans on there? I can't say I'm a fan.

Yeah it was discussed a while back. Nobody likes them.

  3. is 2nd willing to ship out flat heads with arcs and tabs to the US. I remember that they wouldnt do it anymore, but i was wondering if this has changed since they are generally shipping to US again. I was interested in the 4001bk they have with the old arcs and tabs, so i was wondering if they will still remove the arcs and tab before shipping to US.

I don't think flathead still produces any pair of jeans with the old stitching, even in japan. I got my 1001's proxied from 2nd and they have the new stitching and no tabs.

  4. FAQ section on first page edited to include new (step by step) sizing directions.

*****The real answer to the "What size diors do I buy????" question.*****

Due to the fact that everybody is sick of answering individual questions about this, here is, in my opinion, the best way to figure out what size diors you should get. Keep in mind this won't always be completely correct, but its a fuckload better than stating your weight / what size you wear in other brands.

Step 1: Find a pair of medium - low rise jeans you currently own (made of non-stretch denim) that fits you well in the waist. Not too snug nor too loose.

Step 2: Button this pair of jeans up and align the waist so both the front and back sides of the waistband are directly on top of each other.

Step 3: Use a tape measure to measure the waist of the jeans all buttoned up and layed flat, then double this measurement.

Step 4: Subtract 3 or 4 from this measurement. I saw 3 or 4 because of the fact that diors are 2 inches larger than tagged. Subtracting 2 to start out with will account for that, while the extra 1-2 inches account for stretching. If you want a pretty basic fit in the waist / are getting a pair of diors that you know have a tendency not to stretch much, subtract 3. If you want a super slim fit / tighter upper block / are buying some diors that you know will stretch a bunch, subtract 4.

****Certain jeans will run smaller / tighter in the waist and top block than others, so in some cases just subtracting 2 will be fine. I personally find sometimes certain jeans like the 17.5cm cuts as well as the mij washed jeans look better with a bit of a slouchier top block, so for those I may just subtract 2.

    Step 5: Buy.

  5. hehe is it a dumb idea to start with these jeans? :o since I've never owned a pair of selvedged jeans before

I think its actually a good idea. They're sanforized so you won't have to worry much about sizing, they're reasonably priced for what you get, heavyweight denim, self edge was involved, sufu was involved, etc.

  6. i want to try the 21cm cut as i think the 19cm cut was too slim on me.

i sized down to size 29, which were very hard to button up. size 30 looked like crap.

do you think the 21cm cut will fit me at all? if yes, should size 30 be fine?

that's me wearing a pair of aprils:

are my feet too slim for the 21cm cut or will i just be fine?

I think you could pull off the 21's. If you could button up the size 29 19cm's all the way when you were trying them on, then i'd get a 29. As long as you could do up a few of the buttons, they will stretch about 1.5-3 inches, so don't worry about it.

  7. So i just got the red and black normal weight flannel and i have to say i'm extremely happy with it. The fabric itself is just a really nice color combination, not to mention ridiculously warm and soft. The fit is also a fair amount slimmer than i was expecting, which ended up working out well. May have to kop some heavyweights / the white and blue regular.

  8. if I was looking for a pair of black denim would skull be a good choice?? whats the fade on them like??

The black skulls are a really interesting black color when you see them in person. They actually look grey compared to most other black jeans. I'd guess the fades would just be greyish white.
