  1. Looks fine to me. Skin doesn't appear to be dying and since most of it is just scabbed over I assume it's healing. I'm going to give it a few more days.

lullz you probably eat so many spiders in your sleep.

  2. The 1001's look good. If you want the waist not to get too small but you want the legs to be a bit slimmer i'd look around the house for some type of childrens wood blocks, plastic tubing, etc that you could push into the waist of the jeans and then button them up. Then soak them with the tubing or whatever still in the waist to prevent shrinkage. You could also use boiling water to try to get the waist to shrink more.

  3. thanks for that answer khoiphan - i was thinking along the same lines.

i removed the arcs after i soaked on my F380 and it had the effect described by you above. i am wondering what will happen after the first real wash. maybe I should soak again before i wash them ... ?!

I don't think you really have to worry too much about that. Just remove then soak then wear.

  4. I'd wash those if I were you. It will be good just to bring out some unseen fades and balance everything out / set all the fades in. Not to mention that if you've been wearing those hard for a while sweat and grease could be slowly eating away at fabric causing more blow outs and holes than normal later down the line.

  5. my size 29 1001's were fine in the waist post soak, a big snug, but after less than a week the waist stretched 3 inches to the point where the jean is almost unwearable. The top block of these is so much looser than my 4001's it's ridiculous. Shoulve sized down.

  6. For those of you playing at home...

The episode of Wife Swap that my family and I filmed will be airing on November 7th. Watch this woman insult my clothes and tell me that Flat Head jeans and shirts aren't good enough, and I should "dress like a grown-up".

    Ha. Should be interesting...

Haha. I have to see this.

  7. exactly what I wanted to hear!

    thanks clou and yikes!

it will be painful, but 2 weeks should be ok ... :D

They will stretch like fuck. I may suggest sizing down one from your usual flat head size.

  8. This is a loaded question but I have a pair of silver selvage 19cms and they have about 5 months of wear into them. They already have some fades into them (only have been soaked once) and I have been thinking of washing them to get some real contrast. I know Diors are not really known for their fades, but any raw pair of jeans can be broken in hard enough to fade. Should I wait past 6 months to get these wanted fades, or can they really be broken in quicker?

I have been wearing these almost everyday since I have got them and some of the fades already look great without a wash. Or should I not wash because there is something I don't know about the silver selvage? They have a little sheen on them, will it all be washed off?

I wouldn't do a wash if you wanted more contrasty fades. I've found with diors that when washed the overall jean definitely will lighten and some fades will be brought out that you didnt see before, but also dye will run into pre-existing contrasty fades and can make them look not very contrasty at all. If its the smell your sick of, just give them a good hot soak. The sheen probably be almost completely gone if you do a wash, but i'm not sure how much would be gone if you just did a hot soak. I did a hot wash on my black silver selvedges the other day and they definitely lost all their sheen.
