  1. i love the switch to coreloft continuous 90/65, same as in my proton AR and honestly i reach for that more than my old mionn is. not sure about terratex as the outer, it's not as smooth and comfortable to layer under a shell IMO. probably also not as comfy to put your hands in your pockets either

Does anyone have recommendation for metal wallets? Thanks

secrid, dango, ridge, trayvax are the main players in the edc space for that. none are inherently techwear though.

  3. 3s, 4s, and bamba 2s are all TTS for me.

while we're here, are the bamba 3s waterproof at all? i saw some places say they had goretex inserts but i highly doubt that nvm i actually read previous posts in this thread

  4. I have a peat graph sweater in the old style and a new one in the alloy color. I prefer the older one because of the nylon shoulder panels that give it some visual appeal and help with bag straps and rain or whatever. The new one looks much more plain, I end up using it with no undershirt either because as junkie mentioned the neck opening is really big. So it's hard to justify as just essentially a thicker merino longsleeve. I don't own outlier hardco but I did have their doublefine stuff and it's really really nice. Feels really good next to skin compared to graph and even dyadic sweaters imo

  5. i mean those are cool but you can get all black salomons from the s/lab line for much less than a BBS collab. that's why i prefer the all white ones since you cant really get all white salomons otherwise, with the exception maybe being the new ADV line for fw18 (still has some grey to them)

  6. Is it more of a brown, a khaki, an olive, a green? Grey even? It looks like a desaturated, greyish khaki in some photos, very brown/yellow khaki on some Instagram photos, and straight up green in the teaser video.

It’ll be back. Hooded one too.

oh whaaaat. this season?? judging from the fw18 teaser vid i thought both mionns were cut. so hard to make out any detail lol

  8. re: FW18

most interested in the non-super-insulated stuff since it hasnt been that cold in NYC. isogon MX seems really cool, and it does appear to be cut longer/not cropped like the SS version:

any opinions on this Mortar color versus black? black is pretty easy to match with other greys and neutral colors but I think this greenish khakish brownish color could still work well with blacks, greys, greens, and reds..

also, RIP the Mionn IS. Not a huge fan of the bomber collar and exposed baffles on the Conduits

  9. it probably means we'll see a few pieces with an "LD" designation like Long Distance or whatever, how mainline arcteryx has trailrunning gear under Endorphin. So I imagine that means a cooler merino/poly frame tee maybe, a track jacket like the above in a delicate windbreaker material (moreso than terratex nemis), maybe running shorts or something too. the ss19 showroom stuff is up in nyc, so we'll prob see more info on it from stockists, tradeshows, etc.

  10. It's the isogon and align MX together, i dont think the official color is peat but i forget what it is. anyway man it looks really cool with the storm hood up. i also like the down jacket thats kinda like the achrom at 1:03.

not sure i like all the exposed baffle down stuff going on. towards the end it looks like a node down but the down isnt integrated? the hood isnt insulated.

i wish we couldve seen more of the new graph stuff though

    Thanks! Will try that tonight.

Update: Worked like a charm.  I was applying pressure up and it kind of just popped up into place.  At first I thought I broke it, but now it secures like the rest of the buttons.  Maybe they just missed this step in the factory?  Either way, glad its fully functional now.

woohoo! tbh it was a fix i sort of stumbled upon myself after noticing a button feeling looser. I'm thinking it just happens with wear/use over time.

Owners of Field Overshirts - do all of your cobrax buttons have the same amount of "snap" to them?  My lowest button slides in, but doesn't have the same feel as the other buttons.  Not a huge deal, but sometimes I can't tell if I actually buttoned it.

Take a small precision flathead screwdriver to the button in question on the female side and gently pry the little prong piece upwards. It should snap more securely after that.

Thanks for the tips!  One thing to note though is that the tonal interior pocket seems to be a recent addition?  I found these pics of I'm assuming older versions of the Arris with a contrasting interior pocket.  The ebay one is way off though, with a black interior pocket instead of a blue one.

Ah yeah, that's probably the first arris from 2016 which was Dark Navy. not sure how 2017's Mid Navy's interior looked. good catch tho. lemme download this new trivial knowledge to my brain lol

Has anyone tried layering the Sequent LTs over the Dyadic comp pants?

I feel like it would be a cozy combo on chilly days or nice to have the Squents in the bag in case of rain

EDIT: Thought this was a Barneys exclusive https://www.norsestore.com/commodity/26513-arcteryx-veilance-patrol-down-coat

i mean, you probably could, I think the inseams are about the same. It's just extremely overkill to wear like $1000+ worth of pants haha. The Dyadic Comps should be able to hand some rain regardless, and if it were really pouring you'd be sure to wear the Sequent. I find it hard to come up with a situation where you'd need both or where uniqlo heattech under the sequent wouldn't suffice. But then again, we're talking designer goretex pants and $500 sweatpants

re: patrol color, that SMU is prob the same situation as the monitor down with the heathered poly "wool" face fabric. it's a special colorway that's exclusive to some account (in the monitor down it was exclusive to the flagship popup, then for that frenzy app thing during the trade show, now it's widely available), then probably over time becomes.. not as exclusive

anyway, ive been traveling and love the Roam collection or whatever. dyadic comp hoody and pants is warm enough for the plane, cozy, lots of storage, not too hot, terratex hood stops even moderate rain, etc. my only thing is it's not the most packable and the terratex makes it feel a little heavier. it does, however, make it feel psychologically durable enough to wear on its own. outlier's doublefine merino hoodie is much more cozy though, but it does feel too delicate. heres a fit pic.

at first, i was disappointed with the comp hoody cuz i really wanted to layer it underneath a lot of stuff. ive been using it under my achrom and quoin jacket but the terratex makes it a little heavy as a midlayer (just feels.. not right). and the length sticks out under shorter jackets like the mionn IS and achrom IS, so it looks silly. but on its own in like 50F+ it's really cool. probably starting to become my favorite piece from this drop, like field OS was for me last year.
