  2. damn, i feel that these rescues are hugging my hamstrings too tight (no homo)

should i soak em in cold water then stick throw something in the thighs to stretch em out?

edit: awful fit pics but u get the gist of what im sayin

If I remember correctly, you've had these for a while, or, at least long enough to get all the stretch out. Are they still tight in the thighs after all that?

  3. How can you spend all that time comparing size charts and not look at the pictures?

I always look at sizing charts because sometimes the pictures are unreliable. Well, not unreliable, but, you know, different models make the jeans look differently.

For example, the measurements say they should, for all intents, be almost identical, but the pudgy model for the F380's makes them look like shit.

Hence, are you gonna bust my balls or tell me something I'm not seeing?

  4. But what really matters is that I like the jeans cause I paid for them. Whats the point of using this forum if you guys can't even recognize me as a female and thats just pathetic.

Oh they know that you're female, that much is obvious. The reason, however, why a gayman (ie gaydad), does not want to ACKNOWLEDGE you as a woman might be because he's jealous that you were born as what he could only wish to be born as.

    Nevermind his fucking atrocious grammar.

  5. Thai repros $40 shipped anywhere in N. America. (I only have 1 pair)

So you probably know the deal by now.

    --they're raw/unwashed

    --the hems are chainstitched

    --all buttonfly

    --they're sanforized

--they don't stretch all that much

    --they're redline selvedge

--they have hidden back pocket rivets

    --they bleed like crazy

--the denim is incredibly stiff (maybe 14 ounces)

--they have some pretty amazing fading properties

--quality and construction are no problem with these: they are built to last

    The jeans:

    waist 36

    upper thigh 13 (26 around)

    leg opening 9 (18 around)

    front rise 11

    back rise 14

    knee 9.5

inseam 31 on the dot (they'll give about a full inch if stretched out)

    295762d.jpg

    2ir2al2.jpg

    16abrdz.jpg

And the type of fading you can expect from Thais:

  6. Seriously though, I'm amazed you found a true 32 inseam. When I was doing the rounds I was amazed to find anything over 31. Although there was one guy in Chatuchak who said they'd do custom orders if you wanted.

There is a thai fake with a black leather patch instead of the typical brown ones. These tend to have the longest inseams (found one in a 33). Then there are the paper brown patches which tend to be the second longest. Then the brown and white which tend to be small.

However, the black patched ones are also the lightest denim.

  7. Ozone,

On a different note, if you're going to Thailand and want some genuine Lee from a Lee store listed on their website they can be had in Bangkok for relatively cheap (about 80 bucks I think, maybe more; non-selvage are cheaper). They've got a decent raw selection (some selvage, some not), buckle back and hair on hide. Inseams are about 34, and they are sanforized. I tried on the 101 B, or something like that. Very cool jean but just a tad small for me (34 waist, needed a 36 but they were out of stock and I didn't have time to wait for them to be shipped from Chaing Mai).

  8. I was recently in Bangkok for a month. I set up posts on SF, SuFu, and MyNudies. I didn't sell a single pair. My Nudies shut down the thread, SuFu members never responded and SF members were all over the place in terms of sizing and commitment.

Although I understand why selling fakes is bad I don't really see Thai LVC as being fake. Of course they have the insignia which make them fake, but we all know Thais to be very much unlike anything real LVC makes so the comparison is not entirely valid. Comparing Thai Diesels to real Diesels, on the other hand, is a different story: they are virtually the same. In my opinion, Thai LVC just have the misfortune of being branded "Levis" but are a different jean. I don't know, I'm sort of on the fence when it comes to these.

32 inseams can be found but you just have to be persistent. But 31-31.5 is more likely.

To the dude going to Thailand, Chatuchak is where they're at, but if you want better options and easier shopping go to Sapan Poot night market. You can't miss them. They've even got buckle back there which I hadn't seen in Jatujak. But go at night (it's also a day market but the shady goods don't come out till night).

  9. Thai repros (all sizes) $45 + shipping.

So you probably know the deal by now.

    Sizing:

If I had to compare them to any jeans in my realm of experience, I'd compare them to the modern 501 cut, or an APC Rescue WITHOUT the vanity sizing or stretch potential -- but lower rise than both. Some come tapered, some come straight leg. Some have exposed back belt-loop selvedge and coin pocket selvedge, some don't.

In other words, they are a straight cut, low/mid-rise jean. Tag size = measured size, usually slightly less. I'd recommend you take your true waist size or size down 1 (eg. 38 to 36; 36 to 34; 34 to 32, etc). Either way, the fit will be fine.

Available waist sizes are 25-42. All inseams are 31" - 32" (they aren't made any longer but can be stretched when soaked or washed if you like).

BiG style measurements (for a 36 waist in inches):

    waist - 35-36

    front rise - 11.5

    upper thigh - 13.5

    inseam - 32

    leg opening - 9.5

For every other size just add or minus 1/2 an inch from the rise, thigh, and leg opening measurements. So a 32 would be:

    waist - 31-32

    front rise - 10.5

    upper thigh - 12.5

    inseam - 32

    leg opening - 8.5

    Or a 34 would be:

    waist - 33-34

    front rise - 11

    upper thigh - 13

    inseam - 32

    leg opening - 9

  10. Er, and how are you contributing? Apart from your helpfully specific remark that 'the thighs are obviously different'.

That would be it. To rule out or reconsider the '47. That's what I take him to be looking for. If I'd tried on the entire range I could pinpoint the exact model, but I haven't so I can't.

OP, this question would be perfect for Aero clothing. Ask them which lvc fits closest to the stf and they can tell you immediately.

edit: and if you find out, be sure to tell me.

  11. Cripes, a more useless set of replies you could not possibly find: so much babble and not a single decent reply. Even though I agree that this should be in the small questions thread, here's the question: which lvc (37, 33, 55, 44, 47, etc) fits most like the stf?

I'd also like to know this. It sure as hell isn't the 47.

edit: Paul, I tried on both (stf and 47) and I guess I have to concur with your friend that the thighs are obviously different. Unfortunately I have never had the chance to try on anything else. I'd love to sample the entire range in person, but lvc in anything other than the 47 come off as so elusive.

  12. That's the same belt?! How does it get darker? On the one hand, it looks good, one the other, I was hoping that I would be able to retain that natural color as much as possible.

  13. which leather is that?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that is the bridle leather in natural with nickel hardware. Beautiful belt and looks tough as shit.

Unlimited, did you have any problems with customs getting that into Canada?

  14. Bought these when I was in Japan. To my knowledge they are not available in N. America.

The denim is slightly shiny with a definite raw look but they are not raw but the denim is beautiful and the color is fantastic.

They are new, perfect condition, never worn (except when tried on), never washed, and never altered.

    waist 36

    upper thigh 14

    back rise 16

    inseam 33.5

    knee 10

  15. I've finally decided to get a pair but can't decide which one. I know the 1933 and 1937 will both fit but I'm not digging the cinch. The 1955 and 1944 both look good but the 44 is a bit lightweight (10 oz) and the 1955 seems to have too a high rise (13"--13.5") and too small a leg opening (9") (according to one online retailer).

My ideal fit would be a 36" waist with a 13.5" upper thigh, 10" opening and a 11.5"--12" rise. Is there an LVC model that fits this (or close enough) and is there anywhere to try on LVC in person?
