  1. I've been wearing my Iron Heart 301s for a year. the crotch blew out pretty badly on both sides of the center seam. I had them repaired at self edge, but after wearing them for another week, they ripped again in the crotch, closer to the knee.

This is the first pair I've worn for this long.

At this point, should I just put repairs on repairs on repairs and try to go for 2 years? Is that what happens after wearing a pair of jeans for this long?

I'm looking for a pair to alternate between this pair. Anything similar to the 301s from another company? Heavy and slim is what I'm looking for.

    Thanks!

Post some pictures of the holes in the repair thread

  2. my findings...i have found that chainstich with hold a seam together very well, even after it breaks in a number of spots. However when taking the stitches out intentionally, it takes a lot longer to pick a lockstitch.... you dont need chainstitch or special folders for extreme roping. this was rolled by hand on a lockstitch machine with a regular presser-foot.IMG_0928.jpg

  3. also i have a denim project of my own i'm working on & i need a replacement belt for my singer from the AH Series.. any suggestions for a good source to buy from ?

call my boy thomas, he'll get it out in no time (860)482-6890

  4. the placement and shape of the belt loops are interesting

and to me, that is the perfect roping effect at the leg opening

the beltloop were placed that way to accommodate large belt buckles. the hems were sew with a flatbed lockstitch machine. hand-rolled and pulled.

  5. fucking beautiful

the cut is throwing me off though :\

i agree. amazing construction, but it looks like he needs to size down in the crotch area, but the thigh looks too tight just above the knee which makes the calfs look huge. he doesn't look very meaty, its looks like a cut for thin men with wide hips, might even work well for girls.

  6. People who genuinely consider their denim will quickly identify the shortcomings of '3x1.' Ironically, the people w/the capacity to realize their shortcomings are also their target audience, Obviously a self defeating design.

would you please elaborate on this thought?

  7. Klue, those are women's jeans but you're wearing them in the photo and tying your t-shirt like a woman's shirt?

    Honest question there.

no sir. i am a 180 lb man, that is a 100 lb girl.
