  1. ^^I would go for a 30 waist I think. I am going to estimate you are a true 31 waist or so (JR's usually run on the small side and APC is the opposite), so a 30 should stretch out to be pretty comfortable but not, 'I-can't-have-any-kids-later-on-in-life' tight.

    Cheers.

Figured I'd come back into this thread about a month later: As a belated birthday present to myself, I bought a pair of MIJ 19 Raw Black Silver Selvage from TheGrapist in a 30. GG, you're basically right, a true 31.5 waist. Along with some birthday presents from the missus (APC NC's in 30 and JR Hobo's in a 33 instead, I like the fit better), I'm pretty confident this'll be the right sizing. I was at work today and came home to a post office message on the door, so I have to go pick up a package tomorrow. It's either an APC order or the jeans, so I will report back to the thread if it's the latter.

I'm a bit worried seeing people saying not to size down, but I'm also seeing (in the APC thread) that people generally wear a size smaller in their Diors than they do their APC's, so I'm thinking mine will fit comfortably, not legging like. If not... well, I suppose I'll let everyone know if there will be a new supermarket thread, heh.

  2. So received these and some JR Hobo Dark Dancers for my birthday from my girlfriend, and figured I'd contribute, even if it is a super-common jean. Ignore the ill-fitting shirt in the first shot; no, I am not 200lb. For reference, 5'10" 154lb, 31in actual waist.

Heading on a trip next week to Virginia Beach with her family, so these should get some quality wear quickly.

  3. 1. Gotta chime in with the "happy emos". I realize it's such a easy word to throw around now, and I got roped in a few years ago because I happened to wear non-baggy jeans, band shirts, and a cmirsky-style haircut (not that it's bad, but you know what I'm getting at with the combination). You'd see the piled-on mascara and shit like that, but as soon as say, the band comes on stage, they're the same screamy omg girls who go see boy bands.

1b. Doesn't really deserve a whole other number, but emo girls who have an obsession with their young childhood (or infact the generation after their's). Dora backpacks, "talking cute", a newfound love for dinosaurs in drawn form (so they can even "rawr"). Throw in intentional misspellings online too (ex. "lawl").

1c. Now for the dudes; I suppose when the anti-baggy movement kicked in they didn't have anywhere to buy tighter pants at the mall except the girls' section. Whatever. But this whole emo-ironic embrace of street culture is even worse. Actually, not embrace... attempt. I see emo kids in their tight, super-tapered girl jeans... sagged down half-way past their ass. With compulsory white studded belt. Throw some fape at them and you've got what I see way too often in Hamilton and Toronto.

    2. I've actually met them, so somewhere, they do exist; girls who can actually tell you, straight-faced, they consider Paris Hilton an idol. You feel the need to go get tested the next day. It's like walking into that one South Park episode...

    3. Wiggers. There are guys here who dress street and happen to be white, but they're not fucking morons. I swear Ontario's wigger population is drawn to Hamilton.

    4. Stoner kids who cannot function without it. Yeah yeah, you're such a badass.

    5. Did I go through the whole page and not see hipster?

  4. First off, that is some nasty damage, Heroshima. Sucks, man.

I've just got a few questions for everyone here. I went to Holt last week to get ideas for my birthday, but there were no raw MIJ's in anything near my size. However, I'm an able-to-button APC NS 29, and from what I've read around here that possibly would make me a MIJ 19's in 29 or 30. I also tried on some non-raw JR Hobo's and I'm a 32 there... so yeah, all over the place, haha. So anyone with experience with all the brands, which size would I fit into? I'd like to stick to the 19cm and not move up to the 21, but if it's a must...

Also, the Holt on Bloor in Toronto has MIJ's, and I was thrown off because I had no idea raw denim could be that soft. $425 there, but they can only manage 28s or 34+.

I've been a fan of your past couple of fits Who, but this is just awesome. I've wanted that jacket for a while now, but I'm stuck inbetween sizes, and sure enough they're out of the larger one. If that happens to be a 48 and you ever consider selling... ;).

  6. whatever ligament that is on the inside of a girls thigh that you see when she spreads her legs

    god damn

Hot shit, this. Where's this as an option?

Another legs and ass vote. A really nice set is a lot more rare than a nice set of tits.

  7. Yep, Bizzy summed it up nicely. I'd just like to add, as a student, there's the whole Myspace/Facebook thing, so pictures of me were already online. I have some on my personal website too, but seeing as how they're never anything illegal or shameful (well...), I'm not too concerned. And as has been said by a few people already, in my opinion it detracts from the picture when there's an artificial face-block or something.

  8. I've found that you just have to be picky when you're in there. I grabbed a black military-style button-up for $20 over a year ago that's held up absolutely great, as well as a western-style shirt from even further back. A thin pinstripe blazer set me back $60 and still feels like new, too. I did pick up a white hoodie with some thin blue stripes that has held up better than what you normally hear around here, but I haven't ever put any of their items in the dryer, and it needs cleaning more often since white gets dirty so quickly.

I really wish we had Uniqlo north of the border.

  9. Things that need to die:

Non-denim/western shirts and t-shirts with the Levis logo plastered over them.

Any Converse All-Star product that isn't a pair of kicks. There's definitely no need for a Converse branded messenger bag, ever.

Diesel trainers (though as they've now gone back to in-house design, these might become worthwhile again)

    Streetwear companies making jeans

co-sign, I was out looking for frames last week and couldn't believe the names on glasses these days. Converse, Levi's... what the fuck?

those Nudies a few posts up need to be somewhere to show people how slims shouldn't be worn. and that white hoodie a few more up looks like its suffering from the warping and essing H&M hoodies start doing once they're washed, but I can't remember what that one is.

  10. Going into second year of York/Sheridan Bachelor of Design.

That's where I'd like to be right now. Yuljo, mind if I send you a PM to get some ideas about what is expected to get in? I fucked around at York for the last two years in IT, went nowhere, and am over at Seneca for DMA in September.

  11. Ha! I repped him and told him the same exact thing!

    Me today:

Butchered the quote to try and save space. +repped for this fit in particular, though I haven't disliked a single one of your's yet. I've got the same BS shirt too, almost wore it today, and glad I didn't.

So, first time posting in waywt, and as a relative denim-noob I'm at a disadvantage. Good summer job = better wardrobe, but it'll be a while before I have my first pair of raw :o. These things are beat up work jeans, but they work. Anyways, here we go:

  12. ...i can only imagine a swim-short infested pic being thrown into waywt. oh, the horror.

bbq sounds good if its at all possible.

p.s. a pre-emptive congrats on hitting junkie status, aitsuka.

  13. burly's got a decent beach and pier 4 here ain't bad, but it's still hamilton, and so not too central for everyone. hamilton isn't as bad as most people say, but it isn't great either. london's sketch as fuck, too. it does have western though, i know single guys love that.

i know it's pretty far in advance, but what about august? not quite as hot as july, and generally people don't have as busy schedules. mid-june isn't bad for me, but most of july is written off. fucking factory work.

  14. baranga's is filled with underaged sluts, though. And hutches < anything from port dover. still, the beach in hammy is an alright place, but have fun convincing everyone to make the trek. you've got the mongolian over in cambridge man, i could eat there for days.

I'd probably be willing to make it out for the next one, even with my noobness. depends on whenever it is in the summer, since I'm doing shift work at stelco for some undecided amount of time. fab's idea sounds good, haha.
