Hey guys, i haven't been keeping up with the thread lately so I really have no knowledge on sizing or anything so please bare with me. My sister is going to hong kong / japan next week and i'm thinking of having her grab me a pair of s710's. From what i read so far, going true to size for a slim fit and sizing down one for a skinny fit right? Does this apply to both lot 12 and 13? Is it still possible to get arcs and red tab overseas right now? I saw some sam's with white tab.

Lot 12 is the last lot to have arcs and a red tab. Lot 13 will have no arcs and an inverted tag (white background with red Samurai text.) You're on the muscular size IIRC, so I'd stay true to size on 710s. They shrink and shrink and shrink and shrink.

Also 710s have black arcs, not to be confused with hidden arcs, which is a chainstitched arc on the inside of the rear pockets.

Good eye; that interior tab began with lot 12. I was just thinking about the evolution of Samurai jeans over the years (lots). A lot of subtle differences between my lot 10, lot 11, and lot 12... some changes are disappointing :-( For instance, my lot 12 (0500's) does not have a full chain stitch around the waistband -- it stops at the fly.

reading through this thread there area few people, Demonito is one, who support boiling soaks (rather than hot wash -> take out before spin cycle) to get maximum shrinkage. To these folks (especially Demonito) what do you do to prevent the leather patch from being shriveled up and pretty much destroyed?

My S0500's are coming and I don't want the leather patch to go the way of my S700s

Just avoid water that is literally boiling and the patch will contort, but not shrivel. Buy a tub of Obenauf's Leather Preservative (LP) if you really care about your leather goods.

does the 0500 denim shrink a lot? yuichi only has 33's left and they are 35 raw. I need them to be about 32.5. I know the 21oz keep shrinking with each wash, are these similar? I'm guessing a 32 would be ideal.

32 or 31 if you've got relatively skinny legs. 33s will wrap your body like sleeve of wizard.

Samurai S710XX -- 16 months -- ?? months of wear -- ?? washes (5 or 6)

I spend a lot of time dressing like a monkey for work so these weren't worn all that much. They're just getting started, really.

You'll get over it. I just spent $325 on some 0500's and ONE day later, someone pops up in the supermarket with a week old pair in my size for $175.

so im now considering getting those one wash 0500's from Pirates, my waist is around 34.25 inches or so with 25inch thighs, and im considering getting their size 33. according to his measurments, it has a 80 cm waist

and 63cm upper thigh. I know it seems crazy, since that makes the waist 31in (the thigh seems fine to me though), but anyone think i'll be able to stretch them accordingly? all their other measurments are excellent, and given that these stretch a lot im hopeful they are ideal? any insight would be appreciated

You'll be just fine. I got my 31s down to 29" at the waist and kinda freaked out, but they buttoned right up, and stretched right out. need to wear a belt after just one day of trekking around in them.
