  1. Purely for denim, I would say that warehouse and full count are strong favourites.

I’ve had several pairs of WH over my 25 years or so of wearing Japanese denim and have always worn them to destruction.

FC 0105 have been my go to jeans for the past 4-5 years and I have not felt the need to buy any other denims at all until I recently got a pair of At last & co.

For other stuff I have always been a fan of RMC but less so these days. But I still wear my RMC sweats, N1 jacket and watch-cap through winter.

Over the past 4 years or so I have bought more stuff from Timeworn than any other brand making them my go to store these days.

  3. Since this thread has morphed into tools, here is my favorite tool of my trade. This is a genome sequencer that has revolutionised the world of genetics. To give you some context, the competition for this device is the size of a big American fridge freezer and costs a few hundred thousand at least. This little guy cost me less than a grand and fits in my pocket.
We have even been using this to sequence all sorts of stuff even including some uk hospital isolates of coronavirus genomes.
It’s portable, so even in lockdown I can keep sequencing at home (not virus) with limited access to my lab.

  4. Hey superparents, both my boys have outgrown these samurais now along with this totally cool Sierra Designs Mountain Parka that I bought years ago in Tokyo.
therefore I offer these free to a good home (just pay shipping).

the samurais have worn through in one knee so would benefit from a repair.

samurais sized at 100, parka is 110.

@Double 0 Soul only person other than myself to get Ice T!  Must be our age..

@smoothsailor yes mate I was there then. Small world.  Should have said Hi, would have made my day.

My wife wasn't to keen on Ueno but I liked it. Saying that she did put away a far amount of sake in the one place we ate/drank in so couldn't be that bad!

ice t was easy! but then yeah, I'm old too.

    Such a shame about Doom.
I’ve also been listening to Now Again since Egon set it up. Now hardly listen to Stones throw since Egon and madlib both  left.
I used to have a Drip Fm subscription for Now Again so have a good amount of the catalogue digitally, was also buying their vinyl and I did initially have the Now Again Reserve subscription. Still like like the label a lot. Rappcats is a good label too.
Madlib being a great producer I especially liked his work when teamed up with MF Doom.

    Agreed!
I collected stones throw vinyl right from the beginning but have not bought anything for many years. I have a good chunk of now again releases too and would love a few of the reserve subscription records.
I really enjoy Egon’s writings on the blog and Instagram. Didn’t make it to rappcats when I was in LA a few years ago though.
