  1. Anybody got any experience washing their Acronym x Nemen J28-K jackets? Should I just use a tech wash, as per usual?

Yeah, I used the Nikwax hard shell wash and then re-proofer and it worked well. Made it worth the heavy discount I forced on a retailer that sold me a well-worn jacket as new!

  2. Is it safe to assume that none of the online ACR retailers sold the Prestos and the only chance to secure them at retail was only via Acronym and Nikelab?

No, basically anyone who has a Nikelab account got them. Most have released them already and are sold out, annoyed I only was able to get the volt ones but oh well.

  3. Firmament has no influence on the duty you pay, unless they don't label the parcel properly, but if you're ordering from outside of the EU, then you should get the German VAT (19%) removed.

Firmament marks full value so you will get hit with customs duty unless your order is below the de minimis threshold.

Never had any issues w/ bureau.

I dig the idea of a windstopper tee but sort of wonder if, functionally it would be even better as a wide shouldered tank. Perhaps I am influenced by the Rapha gilet I'm thinking about buying tho

  4. Are more shops going to receive the nemen collection? The shops that currently have it I've only just heard of from this thread. Thx u

I'd guess that the Nemen stockists that also carry Acronym will go live with the range on the SS ACR worldwide release date

  5. so, I've been writing a monthly column for Heddels (formerly rawrdenim) and have been fortunate to enjoy a long leash to talk about things that get me going.  It's called Beneath the Surface.

last week's was about tech blazers and how their current technical form is linked to menswear tradition.  it involves some geeking out about design / functionality and talks a lot about the genius that is Herno Laminar City Zip Blazer.  A lot.

I thought it might be of interest... I'm trying to get the word out, so if you dig it please do consider circulating to your peeps and pardon the x-post with the Acronym threak.

  7. my main concern is the size, the last zippered collar/hood I got was too big...

let me know if you decide to sell it! ;)

  8. tbh i was shitty when the shirt i bought came and the tag said made in china on it. still thinking of getting the bike lock though. wanted to get the black / red beanie but didn't get paid in time... those js tho

tbf the shirts and almost all the cut and sewn (other than fleeces) have been made in china since about 2007 or so.  and there have been many great pieces since then

  9. Any early verdicts on the shoes so far (aside from you ballers who picked up samples months ago)? Anybody's mind changed yet? I'm still not inclined to pick them up but it's interesting to see pics from the 'real' world:

I ended up with the black suede ones after sending back the white canvas ones - my thought was what kind of fucking opportunity was it to get a pair of suede LF1s and I was right - they're great on that basis alone, it's like instant break-in.  The zipper is sort of incidental but pretty compatible with the ACR aesthetic in that you you can set the tension as dialed in as you want and just kind of leave it, so I don't mind

some dude at work was trying to clown me on the zipper asking what kind of shoe they were.  i schooled him on the history of the AF1 and he was all meek as shit.  straight IT gangsta style

  10. The science nerd in me desperately needs this patch.

the social justice nerd in me desperately wants this to be the Rosalind Franklin model.

shamless self-promotion alert! I'm stoked to have joined Rawrdenim as a monthly columnist, my first one features the Roy RS04 in a reflective piece about what makes raw / loomstate denim special (spoiler alert - it was published on Father's Day for a reason).  Read on if you dare at http://www.rawrdenim.com/2015/06/dad-jeans-literally-beneath-the-surface/

I should also note a great video GQ shot of Andrew Chen with his boys, which features some of the fine furniture in SENY being used for purposes they weren't originally designed for.... http://www.gq.com/style/blogs/the-gq-eye/2015/06/dad-week-gq-dads-part-2.html

happy Father's Day to all you proud papas out there!

  11. hey all, have a brand new LA3-WS sz small with bag, A4 and shirtslingae. hoping for $450 USD shipped in the US, $500 intl EMS but open to reasonable offers.  a really great take on a shirt jacket, offering all the protection of a jacket in a subtle form factor

  12. Or anything else for the matter.

Their website listed sizing is often their interpretation of sizing.   Like Visvim size 1 has been XS on End before.

visvim sz 1 is probably a US/EU size XS though?  at least, if you believe in the fantasy of "true" sizing

  13. GT-44 ordered from the back of a taxi in Miami. Considerate of Errolson to drop SS15 just as the euro hits parity with the dollar. And the fit looks better for me than the J29, since I'm getting a bit lardy.

oh wow, i hadn't realized the currency rate had changed so drastically.  just scooped the c1-br i've been eyeing for ages; if the exchange rate holds i shouldn't have to pay any customs either.

re: the latest drop, i should probably be thankful that almost no stores bought the pistachio j43-k's so i don't even have to worry about the temptation... it's so stone island i can't even.

btw is it odd that some shops are calling the nemen sweats oversized while acrnm.com says size up?

  14. have they made slip ons smaller in the last 12 months or so? i'm usually an 11.5 in most (authentic, sk8 hi, old skool etc) but need a 12 in these. my same exact pair from years ago is an 11.

i find the vault slip-ons are a half size bigger than core and they were giving the same advice last year but didn't get them then (this season's is in-line with that tho)

i have fond memories of silas before they went ham on japan, but not sure about these

  15. I'm kind of interested in the Niagra sweater.  Do their sweaters normally run large or are they true to size?

i think it's a knit sweater - if so then i always go for a size up. that thing is guaranteed to go on sale though, nobody knows who she is or about DAM and it's not like the design sells itself

  16. i wouldn't wear boxers over jeans (or supreme boxers at all), but i don't mind the picture above - supreme's always been about the freaks, weirdos and misfits.  it's the 5 kids all wearing the same hoodie posing outside their lockers i could do without.

i agree with fycus that the last two seasons had a weird glimmer to them that this one doesn't, although i suspect the collaborations and capsules will say more about the season.  and wow, the yankees.

  17. i thought they had turned things around last year but i don't see any clear focus this season and not too much i'd be interested in getting from the get go.  to be honest, i'm more interested in the noah relaunch

re: the homi29, the basics are probably fine but i'd rather scoop up whatever engineered garments end up at 50% at the end of the season for a similar price
