damn right fre$co, you do need to scuff the hell out of the soles! I was walking around work as if I was on ice skates for the first time in my life. If I only knew...
How far is the factory from Cambridge? My friend is going there for the summer and maybe I can have her pick up a pair for me.
hell yeah, the sole are so slippery, i was like 1,2,3, slip 1,2,3 slip again
thanks fresco, i guess that's why i saw so many different variation of tricker's on yahoo auction japan....like brown/white c shade/brown....which i dont see on pediware...
waiting for you to posted you whetherby...
BTW, i am not going to risk mine in warm water... , mine break in after 3 days....redwings took about a week to do it
i MUST go there one day, why am i in TEXAS????

I just had a conversation with David at the trickers factory in Northampton, He is really very nice but quite clearly a madman. Anyway, the upshot is that I think I will pay them a visit on Friday and have a look at the factory and see how things are done, he has a few Stowes in my size in the factory shop for £100 which if they turn out ok is a bargain.
He was talking about the custom service that he can offer and how compared to Jermyn street it is so much better (and cheaper) to go direct to him. You can have a choice of 150 different leathers and 10 soles, any colour combination you like! He reckons he might be able to persuade me into this.....
I'll let you know what comes about.
fre$co...
so is it anyone can go visit that trickers factory or only certain person can? is it like a outlet of trickers??
i live in the u.s...so i cannot get tricker's here, i order mine online too , but never heard of the factory before, what you saying is that i can basically customize my trickers with the leather and soles i like at there?
anyway, such a great post and looking forward for you pics:)

Fatty - Do you have direct experience with tanning? How long would you suggest tanning to acheive the afforementioned orange color?
Thanks.
i tan my for about 4 days ( abt 4 or 5 hours outside each day for 2 days)....because i tan it last year summer and it is extremely sunny and hot at about i say...at least 95-100 degree in texas. It turn more orange/toffee color as you use it...but if you didnt tan it long enough...it would look like this brown color as it get old....i assume this one has not been tan
this is not my wallet...find it on yahoo

bobbejaan
look very nice, but are you going to tan the inside too?
Also, imo, maybe little bit more tanning would be better
it will turn more into rich orange after you used them
with the tanning you have right now it will turn more brownish

I tried alittle of the Melatonian boot cream on the back of one of the heels to see how the leather would react. It smoothed out the abrasion and re-colored the leather significantly. I think these are in better shape than they look and with a good cleaning and moisturizing they are gonna look great. Here's a quick pic of them on:
What do you guys think? Leave them trashed or clean them up?? I'm torn
i will go ahead and condition them and shoe cream them to moisturize it abit.Once you condition them, i think the color will turn more darken which gives a beat up vintage look, otherwise i am afraid the leather will be too dry and crack

My Title should be: When did RM start using German Silver Concha for EVERY wallet?
anyway, to the best of my knowledge and correct me if i am wrong, about a year ago, there are only two redmoon wallet using German silver concha....They are the SVM 02 and the NRC 02s. and they are priced the same at 45150 yen which are about 5000-10000 yen costly than regular long wallet, and also back then, they will list these two to be german silver but not other one.
The reason i came up with this thread is because the one using german silver concha has absolutely no design on them and being priced higher than regular one and if you polish them with the silver polishing cloth, they will be shine as hell. The concha with the indian face absolutely look not silver to me.
SVM 02
NRC 02s
so, i went to the redmoon webpage, and it seems like almost every wallet now use german concha according to the way they listed on their material which they just recently updated their website. So did they change all their concha or they has always been like that??
this is the SVM 02 after polish...look at the concha
so , Any RM owner, can you try and polish your concha with silver polish cloth and see it shine like that?

since the beginning, i just want to wear them and carefree abt them and i want them to turn to light blue with contrast of fading. After the first soak , it turn to a cheap color just like what you will see on most of them but i think i am used to it now, and no one care here in texas.
