thanks. The back pocket was getting too faded for my liking, due mostly to sliding around in the snow and was starting to tear in places. The acrylic paint is actually better than I expected. the colors look great foremost and as an extra bonus adds a significant amount of strength. Turns out japanese denim is a wonderful canvas.
My wife loves to paint with acrylic/oilpaint.Hope she never reads your last sentence! I wouldnt do this to my pairs, but with no doubt I enjoy looking at yours. And as requested before, are we going to see a groupshot of crew?

Seconded,Moykky and Salaami! After this thread became a bit quiet the last days I was positively surprised when I checked it this morning. To me klue and kawawakas pairs are more like modern art and giving denim customizesation (does this word exist??) a new direction. How about a special prize for best oddity?

That would not do them justice,as I used to wear stfs for some years, and I will always choose the 2006 over any stf.On the other hand I will always choose the 2001 over the 2006! I know its hard to tell from the pics, but the denim from 01 is really on another level than from its counterpart five years later,IMO.

Weather was shit today, the sun came out at 5am so I hurried and tried to do some accurate shots.judge by yourself:Is that an accurate rendition, by the way? If you do colour cast correction and get the backgound roughly the same, the second pair do look a lot more contrasty.Do you still have both of them & could u shoot them together? ENquiring minds want to know!
2001 vs. 2006
The darker one in the images is the 2001 valencia str. made.

We have now about 40 contestants checked in,with the highest number being 90.What is happening to the 50 others?Did BIG sold all of them, are they still in the post or do some people just bought the jeans and didnt bother to sign up?Just curious!
And....it might be a bit early, but what are you guys planning to do in a year or so...given that organizing a contest takes a lot of time?I wouldnt mind taking part in another contest then.what do you think, anything in the pipeline for now?

after a week in my fullcounts 0105C my advice is to size down one, that is if you havent got extreme thunderthights.I am a true 32 and my pair is very comfortable, despite sizing down theres a little hipflare..

Sure?amardeep fitpics looks very similar to your okinawa ones.so much hip flare0 -

Yes,I have done the pics probably a month apart and under different conditions.I am gonna do some comparison-shots with equal settings this weekend. Thanks for linking my old post,Paul.I just couldnt mind searching and took a shortcut via photobucket.

Here they are:I agree, although I do tend to think this is a recent problem - was it almostnice who had two pairs, the second of which was from late 2006, and the first pair looked great, and the second looked like Clerk's - which do look good, but are very.. grey, compared to the earlier ones.tagged 04 01 - april 2001,555 stamped

patch on my pair is holding up like any leather one,a couple of hot soaks and a 60°C wash did nothing to it.theres only some of the print rubbed away by my belt.

srok, your fit is spot on,my pair measured 40" also, but I am 180cm ,what saves me 2" more denim, hiding in my cuffs!Great story how you got away with customs. They ripped € 69,- off me,for that amount I could have wait a couple off days more!

so does anyone else have a lot of hip flare or is it just me
Yes.and I dont mint, its what makes this cut so comfortable.Seeing that the thights measured 13",I knew what to expect.

Hi HaGa,the sc 41966 is a repro of the 501 cut from 1966.AFAIK the denim sc uses is made in japan and 100% cotton, the jeans itself is made in the US and being a 66 cut it should be slimmer than the 47 and 55 and shouldnt have hidden rivets.

Thumbs up for double cuffs! Would love to get my pair hemmed with a chainstitch, but sending them all the way back is out of question.AFAIK there is no possibility for this in Germany

Thanks for the comments on my "vintagefit",I am starting to like this jeans more and more.I had a "Ducktail" with my Okinawas, that went away after softening up... Compared other jeans I own these doesnt feel that stiff or heavy, might have to do with the 70°C wash,I usually start with a hot soak, never had a 40" inseam before...First weekend with 0105C put behind and jeans are slowly softening. These 29"ers feel bigger than my 30"s but that must be the heavier denim that doesn't drape so nicely. Almostnice I like the fit too. I'm sure the hip flare will go away with some wear and tear(s). My problem is "duck tail"...0 -
Thanks HaGa,I sized down one from 32,they stretched back to a 32 now.I dont wear them high by purpose, its just how the fit right now.I must admit I was a bit shocked about the inseam being not hemmed and on top of that measuring 40",it looked grotesquely long! The 37" I asked about would have been just perfekt after shrinking. But better too long than too short...

Looks like I fixed my computer,so here is # 008 taking a bath:
patch survived the 70°C wash pretty well:
I always suck at fitpics:
After waiting that long for this pair I couldnt mind sending them back for hemming again.I am slowly getting used to the doublecuff.
Hipflares are the price for convenience,I think...nevermind:)
