  1. i think big is the best place cause they have product and they rep denim culture but its kind of small in terms space then again maybe it wouldn't be a huge crowd dunno how many folk at the sf party?

Well, I'm embarassed to say after 3 years in NYC, I haven't been to BIG yet, so someone else can chime in on the size. Self Edge is a small store. Regulated with an enforced guest list, we had a showing of a good sixty or so people, but fluctuating throughout the night.

I would assume, with NYC hype, a much stricter guest list would be in effect, but otherwise I can't see it being a problem to have a Sufu party with the spaces given.

  2. This was Kiya's response to differentiating between good sneaker heads vs bad sneaker heads...quite prophetic.

Seriously--if the worst dressed award was actually given and the winner was still around.. I would have liked to have seen it all go down.

Would have been interesting if it was one of the bad beasters.

  3. idk...too many streetwear kids who don't really know how to dress street if you ask me...

Yeah, you could definitely tell who was/n't a sf'er at the party. The über streetwear kids rocking all-over print hoodies stuck out like a sore thumb. The whole time, we all were whispering (at least I was) about how embarassing it must have been for them to walk in and realize that they went to the wrong party.

With the oversaturation of branding in streetwear, it's become over accessible to the newbies--hence the terribly uncoordinated outfits of conflicting prints, colors, fit, and ultimately, taste.

  4. haha, nice, i haven't found any good coffee in NB anyway... Ritual is the shit but it's too far... found a place in NB that sells good beans though...

to get back on topic, great outfits guys... that FH shirt looks familiar... hehe... I need to get some japanese denim to wear with my FH shirt, I put it on this morning but it looked weird with the 19cm's...

You bastard! You got the FH shirt?!

*Cries of jealousy* I remember seeing you putting the houndstooth one on too.

  5. Post-soak

I didn't do comprehensive measurements, just the basics. I was only looking forward to shortening the inseam.

After a 2 hour lukewarm soak, it was sun-dried in 59 degree shade/sun with a bit of wind--turned over on each side every twenty minutes or so until it stopped dripping. Light blow dry with a bit of heat and cold air switched back and forth until comfortable to wear.

    Inseam: 35" (87.5cm) - 2" (5cm) difference

    Waist: 28.5" (71cm) - 1.5" (3.75cm) difference

    Hem: 7.2" (18cm) - 0.3" (0.75cm) difference

Overall, the stack is falling less boxy, and it's slimmer throughout, especially on the top. The legs slimmed down.

    Pre-soak

    29 x 36 (actual waist x inseam is 30 x 37)

Jeans are darker due to water retention.

  6. The waist on mines has stretched a fair amount, I'm going to warm soak them for 2 hours and see where it makes me end up. Death by denim? Dun dun dun...

Yeah? The waist on mine shrunk, unlike yours. I'm loving the post soak right now. Tiny bit damp but my powerbook is drying my lap.... no homo.

Im soaking my Samurai 710s right now. Gonna pull em out at 3.

I got the Flat Head 3001, the ones you 'mos got.

KINDA wanna get a size smaller... Weird eh, but iono. I'll see wat happens later on. I dont need anymore fuckin jeans.

You don't need to size down. You don't. Please, for my sake, don't size down.

  7. just for that im gonan give you some reputations points, consider yourself lucky bc i dont give em out that often

Damn Man, you bumped me up to 2 bars of green. Holler. Yo, we should chill before I leave on Sunday.

I might be doing a shoot w/ the Huf boys too so I dunno if that can tie into a day of hypebeasting. Time flies.

And btw, it's a shame you weren't in the market for a camera 3 months ago--I was selling my 20d. :/

    sidney you using a 5D with a 50mm f1.4?

Affirmative. I would have brought more glass with me, but I didn't want to lug any more shit. I find myself going back to the 50mm 1.4 as a day-to-day lens--it's much better on a full frame. I found myself loving all my L glass + 50mm 1.4 without the crop; I feel so much less claustrophobic. :)

  8. Im the 13th. Word from the Breath Mint is that you leave that day as well... TSH...

    She's a tard. I leave on the 14th. :)

Watch out, your inseam is going to shrink like crazy at a 3-5 hour soak if it's anything like the zipper fly (and I'm assuming you got the button fly/baggier cut.)

  9. Ok, 2 hour warm soak. Almost 2" off the inseam, but too wet to measure anything else. It's drying quickly via sunlight, with flipping every 20 minutes. I'm going to blow dry the legs lightly because they're not getting any sun action.

  10. Not impressed with Laura's notetaking skills as a reporter/blogger, Damon was not rocking RRL and I did not said those thing nor was I rocking ES! HAHAH!

    article here: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/sfgate/detail?blogid=3&entry_id=12350

The funny thing about this is--this is the exact thing this article is trying to capture. No one else would really know this from a tiny jpeg or outside of the bounds of this denim community. Even when we get publicity, we're correcting them on the facts. :D
